THANK YOU

Quote From: brenthartman

Everyone's perspective is different.  From my perspective, parents who spend more time at work than with their children are neglectful.  Parents who let day cares and public schools do the job that they should be doing are neglectful.  Parents who can't manage to stay married to people they chose to marry are neglectful.

Obviously, not having electricity is a problem.  How can the parents get anything done without sticking their kids in front of the TV?  How would they ever find out what Dr. Phil spoke about with Brittney Spears?  For this reason alone,  the Amish and all those who don't use electricity should have their children taken from them and given to the State.

Sure this guy might not be making as much money as the preacher who helps the poor, but he is providing food, water, and education for his children.  If they loose the house then they can live in a tent like the prophet and patriarch, Abraham.  Of course, Abraham was only the father of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, but if the good Christians on this thread had there way, CPS would've taken Abraham's children, if not for living in the tent, then perhaps for being a polygamist.

And to think that Jesus said Abraham will be in the kingdom of heaven.  I have know doubt that many of the good Christians on this list are just waiting for the opportunity to get to heaven and call CPS on Abraham, Moses, and the other righteous men of God who dared to raise their families in tents, and without electricity and running water.

May the children of all those who have financial difficulties and whose religious beliefs don't match our own have their children taken away from them.  Let's just hope that you never fall into that category.

Thank you brenthartman for your spiritual knowledge and wisdom concerning this matter.  The Holy Bible is a exceptionally large book,  for those unbelieving people who took a few scriptures and put Dan & Janna down with. If they really knew God as revealed in his word, God alway did things and told his people to do things that were contrary, unimaginable, unthinkable,  not understanderable, a stumbling-block and foolishness against the unbelief of the present worldly system that they lived. For instance - AND GOD SAID, LET THERE BE LIGHT: AND THERE WAS LIGHT. GEN 1:3;   BUT THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL WALKED UPON DRY LAND IN THE MIDST OF THE SEA; AND THE WATERS WERE A WALL UNTO THEM ON THEIR RIGHT HAND, AND ON THEIR LEFT. EXODUS 14:29;  AND FIVE OF YOU SHALL CHASE AN HUNDRED, AND AN HUNDRED OF YOU SHALL PUT TEN THOUSAND TO FLIGHT:  LEVITICUS 26:8; AND ON THE DAY THAT THE TABERNACLE WAS REARED UP THE CLOUD COVERED THE TABERNACLE, NAMELY, THE TENT OF THE TESTIMONY: AND AT EVEN THERE WAS UPON THE TABERNACLE AS IT WERE THE APPEARANCE OF FIRE, UNTIL THE MORNING. NUMBERS 9:15;  and so on, and so on, one can read each book in the Old Testament and the New  Testament about what God did and commanded his people to do to show his power and his peculiarness of his people that set them apart as his treasurer (riches) Psalms 135:4 DAN AND JANNA WERE UNDER A LOT FIRE, WHICH MADE THEM SHINE FORTH AS PURE GOLD.  THAT'S ANOTHER ONE FOR THE  UNBELIEVER - BUT THE NATURAL MAN RECEIVETH NOT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD: FOR THEY ARE FOOLISHNESS UNTO HIM: NEITHER CAN HE KNOW THEM, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED. I CORINTHIANS 2:14  BUT TO DAN AND JANNA GOD SAYS: IF YE BE REPROACHED FOR THE NAME OF CHRIST, HAPPY ARE YE; FOR THE SPIRIT OF GLORY AND OF GOD RESTETH UPON YOU: ON THEIR PART HE IS EVIL SPOKEN OF, BUT ON YOUR PART HE IS GLORIFIED.  BUT LET NONE OF YOU SUFFER AS A MURDERER, OR AS A THIEF, OR AS AN EVILDOER, OR AS A BUSYBODY IN OTHER MEN'S MATTERS.  (WHICH YOU ARE NOT) YET IF ANY MAN SUFFER AS A CHRISTIAN, LET HIM NOT BE ASHAMED; BUT LET HIM GLORIFY GOD ON THIS BEHALF (WHICH YOU DO).

This family is different than the Amish in that they are not actually trying to live without electricity, etc. They are set up in a home that needs electricity. If they want to live a simple life w/o modern conveniences then they need to relocate somewhere else. They need to move to a home with a woodstove and an outhouse and a nearby water source. When I was growing up poor, we had electricity but no indoor plumbing or water. We had an outdoor toilet, carried our water in from a spring and heated with a woodstove. My mother cooked on a woodstove. This family lives in a house set up for modern conviences but they are not supporting this lifestyle. There is a big difference in this and the way the Amish live or the way I grew up. We always had a garden and ate well and were warm in the winter. This family is caught somewhere in between. The parents need to s*** or get off the pot if you ask me. It's not about thier beliefs not matching mine, it's about using the Bible to justify not trying to do any better for thier kids.
