03/03 Teens and Sex with Bishop T.D. Jakes

Great post. Why do some people posting here presume that concerns over teen sex are due to religious fanatacism?  I would hope that non-religous people are just as concerned about the social and emotional implications -- not just the health ones --- of teens having sex.  Have we really gotten to the point where concern over a mother permitting her 13-year-old to have sex is considered judmental and preachy?
Oh come on  now, that is a mischaracterization of the discussion if I ever heard one.  Not one person here fits what you just said.

Why do you presume that anyone stating that abstinence education is ineffective must be unconcerned with 13 year olds having sex. Maybe we are just trying to steer the conversation away from what we know does not work and towards discussing things that might actually have a chance at working? I am VERY concerned about the glamorization of sexuality that kids have to navigate through each day...I just don't think being preachy, judgmental and invoking he wrath of God helps at all.
