Maybe if more women were in charge of making the decisions instead of mostly men who sympathise with these characters, the punishment that is offered might be enough to scare them straight. Hmmmmm?
Sexual Offenders have to live somewhere, though. The scariest thing to me is not knowing the severity of the offense, or if they are truly a danger to me or anyone I know. Jail doesn't really change a predator (the no-remorse, truly sick ones). And then they're lumped together with guys that pee in public, so you don't know who really desserves the pariah label. All you can do is protect yourself, carry mace, and be aware of your surroundings.
