What kind of thyroid problems?  I assume hypo.  If you are taking thyroid meds, the doctor that prescribed them can tell you what to do about losing weight - including further testing to ensure that your dosage is correct.  But the meds only normalize the levels of thyroid hormone in your system - they do NOT melt fat.  The only way to do that is eat less and move your body more.   Having a thyroid deficiency myself, I speak from experience, but don't rely on a message board - go to a doctor.

WHat is your diet and activity level? How old are you? Any other illnesses?  WHat is your family medical history? DO you have an Endocrinologist ? You need to be reassessed.

Armour Thyroid is an older thyroid replacement therapy.  Maybe you would respond better to Synthroid (generic- Levothyroxine.)  Ask your doctor if you could try it.
