I think Dr. Phil is always harder on the guys like the 2nd half of the show, but feels sorrier for the women and is more lenient. I think Abby gets away with things because she is too pretty.
If this family was an example of a warm "Christian home" living by "Christian values" I'll take a nonjudgmental atheist any day. The only time the mother smiled was when she recalled how the yard stick broke when her husband was beating her daughter. No wonder Abby's self-esteem is so low she dances in order to support some bum and smokes pot to anesthetize the pain.
The real people lying in this segment were the parents and sister - lying to themselves about being morally superior.
