interesting....
Quote From: derevna33 Sonja, bless her little heart, may have a personality disorder. It explains why she believes she is right, and refuses to consider the possibility of other options. The problem is not what Sonja thinks, it is how powerfully Sonja feels that she is on center-stage in her own little world. She is the director, and has absolute command of any situation. Everyone else, including her friends and family, must cater to her wants and wishes.
She likes high drama. She lives for drama in life, and she is determined to create drama even when she is dead. Try and imagine anything more dramatic than having a 'bad daughter" and a "good daughter?" Playwrights have made their reputations on this. The possibilities are endless--just like she intends for them to be.
I thought that Sonja was indeed a bit of a drama queen when episode 1 aired, however, once we got through #2, I would have liked to hear what prompted the feud in the first place. I mean, what prompted the fence being errected? I could tell from Sonja's statement about her own father's will (that they would have NEVER asked him about his will) that she was insulted by her daughter Lisa for asking at all about her estate. I wish we knew if the reason the will was asked about in the beginning, did it have something to do with that property they both owned together or was it just enquired about during random conversation? To me, if I entered into an agreement (property or otherwise) with someone, i'd want to know what happens to the agreement in the event of the demise of either of the parties involved. What if Lisa were to die, what happens to her estate? Doesn't Sonja want to know that?? Should Lisa be insulted if Sonja were to enquire? The fact that they both invested in the propety, it is in everyones best interest to come to an agreement BEFORE you have to, as to what will happen to a joint venture. I'm not getting the "greedy' impression at all, I totally feel that neither woman is aware of what the real issue is. Lisa insulted her mother by asking how things are going to go down in the will with the property and Sonja got insulted because she's old fashioned and felt that that was too personal to ask about.... she wants an apology. Lisa totally doesn't see that she's insulted Sonja, she wants to make sure she's covered if Maw dies, where Maw is caught up in the emotional "oh my werd, she asked about my Will and i'm not even dead yet... All she cares about is the money!!! " idea. They both need to get their affairs in order while their both on this side of the dirt. I feel for the younger daughter, she's definately caught in the middle of a family feud that really shouldn't be happening. Hopefully, now that the mediation is done and the signatures are dry, they can all move on to enjoy the rest of their lives together as a family.
