05/02 The Cougar Craze

Quote From: ramair

So, Bobbi, once she turned 50, got dumped by her 33-year-old boyfriend of 11 years? Well. that's the breaks when these gals choose much younger men over those closer to their own age. Dr Phil's had these older-woman-younger-man couples on his show in the past. And, warned them about how, in later years, the aging process can can make the older woman far less attractive to the younger man. In Bobbi's case, the age difference between 22 and 39 is less obvious, to her boyfriend, than between 33 and 50. And, 53 and 70. Due to health issues. Bobbi should listen to her son. She's already been deemed too old, and dumped by one long-term,  much younger boyfriend. Does she really want to risk repeating the same type experience with another?
But, people get dumped all the time, it doesn't matter if there's an age difference. That's the breaks for anyone and I don't know that there is a higher rate of dumping when there is an age difference. Years ago, before I got married, I got dumped several times by guys my own age because I wouldn't put out. There's a lot of different reasons for dumping. Sometimes we can't see it at the time, but the people who dump us are really doing us a favor.

Thats HOW many he has shown that DO NOT work compared to how many do?? MANY of them DO work and last along time compared to not lasting..it would not matter the age of a person PERIOD more divorces happen when people are closer in age then further apart....look at our divorce rate here

just because ONE dumped her means jack crap..you can be dumped by the same age person as well

It doesn't mater how old eather one was, 11 years is a long time these days. You could die before it happens so live every day to it's fullest.Life has no guaranties,so be happy as long as it lasts and be thankful for it.What about all of the other one minute married today and over tomarrow because we couldn,t agree on a resturant?.I was with a guy 18 years younger than me.He payed his bills ,lived in his place etc.We had a gas ,when it was over ,oh well.He was 4 mos younger than my son,I was about 2 years younger than his mom. We got along fine,(mom) ,my son never met him.we did everything together, spent every Holiday, weekend, and stayed on the phone constantly. mind your own buisiness and let people get what makes THEM happy in life and bless them!

which they are not.....anymore than all winter spring ones are between older men and younger women.
It's really an oversimplification to focus only or mainly on the age difference.  I think the maturity level and personality/intellectual/spiritual compatibility have much more to do with it.  But, hey, if you don't want to think about this issue in a serious way, then focus just on the outside stuff we see.  Simple and stupid.

...so you're saying that a relationship with a not-so-young man COULDN'T have ended after 11 years?  No matter the age of the participants, relationships change, and there is no guarantee that a relationship with someone her own age would have progressed beyond, or even TO, 11 years.  At least she had 11 enjoyable years with someone she cared about.
