adoption outcome

Quote From: odie_girl1

I wrote a piece in college on this law.  What the law allows is for a man who has had unprotected sex to register in the event that his partner should become pregnant.  Everytime a girl has unprotected sex she runs the risk of becoming pregnant.  Men run the same risk.  Women have the added responsibility of carrying a child.  Men should also be responsible during the pregnancy.  To simply show up 10 or 12 months later and demand rights is unacceptable.  They should have to assist with financial costs of pregnancy etc.  In addition, for the man who says "I didn't know she was pregnant", everytime YOU have unprotected sex you can create a baby.  If you want rights register!
Today's show was the story of my life and 60 years latter this is the outcome---I found my father 12 years ago and he was the light of my life until 6 months ago when he died in my arms.  My mother is a mean bitter women and she will not "allow" me to met her.  Do who won that battle of the wills???

I totally agree!  Not too many years ago men could just walk away and not have any responsibility.  Now they want rights to a child "at the last minute".  I would support mens rights to raise a child when ALL men pay child support!

That would apparently require too much of a sperm donor, since Dr. Phil thinks it is unreasonable to contact a lawyer in the event you may have fathered a child! Duh!

My boyfriend also went through something similar, where he had no idea that the girl became pregnant. She chose to put the baby up for adoption, the adoption agency called him and asked him to come see his baby girl and that he needed to sign the adoption papers. He did go see his baby girl held her and then decided at that point in his life he was unable to care for her so he signed the papers. They had an open adoption so he always received pictures and an update on her. After 23 years he has a relationship with her. So saying that these fathers have no rights is not OK.  Tell me where the equality is if women want to be equal then give the men the same respect. REGISTER you have got to be kidding me. Have the women REGISTER and let the government now that they are having unprotected sex OK. Lets have everyone REGISTER that way we know who is having sex and who isn't. How bout telling the guy and then holding him responsible for the baby too and giving him the option of being in his childs life.
