Quote From: linda12kHi Girls,
The dust is settling !!!!! Everything seems to be falling into place with my mom. The caregiver getting into a routine and getting use to my mom, all is working out really good so far. As far my sister, finally adjusting to the new situation, what a relief !!!! Was out my mom's yesterday, cleaned out the "wash-house", (she has her washer and dryer outside in another storage place), got the appliance guy out there to make sure everything is safe and perfect working order, and it was. So while the appliance guy was there, I started getting things in order and making things more convenient. The little house is more like a guest house, but within 20 feet of the main house. So that was a good workout of straighten out stuff. Mother hasn't done her own washing in at least 5 years (we did it for her), so that's another thing to get in order. My mother still thinks she could stay by herself, I guess that's the Independence coming out , hehehe. But such a relief to see the care she is getting at her own home.
And the brothers, well two of them stopping by daily, I mean daily, taking her all kinds of fresh vegetables, fish. Everybody claiming mom is finally "home", and all enjoying the situation. I know I seem to go on and on about this situation, but letting everyone know the outcome.
As for me a funeral today, a great aunt on my hubby side, and a chest X-ray for my 6 month check up. So a lot of running around town today. Gas is $3.70 here, what's y'all prices.
Oh such a funny moment yesterday. I was at my sister's house, when she wanted me to look at something, and I saw a new pair of jeans on her bed. I had told her earlier that I had bought 3 new pairs of Capri jeans a few days ago, and got a good deal and fit like a dream. As I glanced down on the jeans I looked at the label for size,,,,,,,,,,,,a size 10,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I asked her to look at my jeans that I had on,,,the label,,,,,,a size 10,,,,,,,,,,,,,she says "yes I can tell you that you are losing weight". I looked at her and said "we are the same size" !!!!! Now she is 5'7", 140 lbs., were I'm 5'4", @ 163 lbs and we both wear now a 10 !!!!! Now this is the same person that can be very cruel in comments about weight, this was to put her a little in her place. I'll never forget the time back when I asked her "how do I look in this particular outfit, (at this wedding,) do I look like a size 10"? I was a size 12 going into a 14. Her response "I'm not touching that with a 10 foot pole" !!!! I said I just asked how I looked, and again she said the same, "don't ask me, ask someone else". I never knew my sister could be so hurtful. So back to the jeans it was 'BEAUTIFUL" to get that reaction from her !!! A little of sister rivalry !!!!!! Well girls off to a busy day !!
Size 10...I'm envious...I'm in a size 20...was in a 14 before all of the thyroid issues started...have gained 30 pounds...I'm hoping that it will get under control soon...it takes a long time to get the meds adjusted just right...
You mentioned a chest x-ray for your 6 month check up...If you don't mind my asking, what are they checking for?
Great news about your mom...glad she is settling in nicely with her new care giver...and that everybody else can now rest easy and just enjoy MOM...
I have a little one home sick today...our youngest son, age 10, is home with a fever and swollen tonsills. The swollen tonsills have been going on chronically since the start of winter...I've called the pediatrician's office...I'm hoping to get a referral to the ENT...need to evaluate whether the tonsills should stay or go...I mean, the poor kid is suffering...sore throats almost every day...
I was hoping to get out and do the weeds today, but with a sick one at home, I don't know if I'll be able to...maybe when he falls asleep...we'll see...
Well, gotta get busy on the laundry...waiting on my shower until the pediatrician's office calls back...
