Quote From: diamond_stFor years I was thin, after an overweight teen misery. Gained some weight after a hysterectomy, but that came off and I was even thinner. Then I had a spinal fusion, a hip replacement, and a knee replacement, and now my stomach makes me look like I am 9 months pregnamt. There aren't a lot of exercises I can do anymore. I would love to have some help getting this belly to disappear once more, as I always had a flat stomach, but this is ridiculous!
I couldn't even get on the Biggest Loser show because I have arthritis, high blood pressure, and asthma...so they are no help at all. Of course, I couldn't do those things they have to do either...I am 70 years old, but still would love to go swimming again.
Thanks
Ladies, My advise to you is to buy Dr. Phil's UWL book and the Dr. Phil food guide, READ IT <READ IT AND READ IT AGAIN, THEN DO WHAT IT SAYS.. If you can't afford the book, at the top of the page there is a place called Dr. Phil's advise, I believe there is a section on weight loss with lots of good information. Then join one of the chat boards. The one that I am on is call Miscellaneous; serious weight loss, no excuses. There are only three or four of us on that board, but all are very supportive and I know there are more. Just go and pick one out to join.
I am 76 years old and I sure do know what it is all about. I did manage to lose 100 pounds and it sure isn't easy to keep off. I have gained some of it back, but am working on it, to lose again. I have about 20 or so more pounds to get back to my goal. Before I started working on this weight my blood pressure was out of site and I was on three different B/P meds to control it. Since I have lost the weight, my doctor has taken me off all but one a day. IF I CAN DO IT ANYBODY CAN!!! It took me a long time to make up my mind to get it off. Just wish I had done it when I was younger.
I will say that exercise is very important. I know there are exercises that you can do sitting in a chair. Do anything that gets some movement, even if it is just walking around the house to start with.
Good luck and let me know how you are doing. ; )
Hugs,
Dolores
