Are we going through global warming? Yes we are. Is global warming a natural cycle? Yes it is. At our current .2 deg. C above mean (ca 2000), are we going into globlal crisis? No we aren't. We're 3.8 degrees below at least two of the most recent past interglacerial periods.
In the Mid-Cretaceous period, the fossil record indicates that the earth was much, much warmer than in the past 150,000 years, with tropical plants growing as far north as Greenland. This was during the time of the dinosaurs, but they had little to do with the temperatures then. Industrialization has an impact on C02 and other gases, but how much of an impact is in question.
The trend in climate changes are not outside the variations of the known paleoclimatic cycles. There seems to be an agenda to sell out our country to the UN via the Kyoto Protocol. Preservation is not what I take issue with, it's the approach.

Check it out, the above is a very informative site.
I think you've hit the nail on the head with this. Does this mean we're "off the hook" in regards to controllng pollution? A huge emphatic NO.
It just means that when you hear the politicians appeals for a tax (or something to that affect) that adds up to billions of dollars, pounds, francs, marks, rubles, etc, to "combat" global warming, you can safely deduce that you are being bamboozled out of your hard earned dollars, pounds, etc etc.
Face it people, if the oceans rise, the coastal cities are going to go the way of Venice, Italy. If governments are trying to raise money for the affects this will cause, why don't they just say so?
Any attempts to reverse a warming trend can only be an exercise in futility, as this is a natural cycle of the earth.
