So, does she have a trust issue with you or does she do this everywhere she goes?
That could be a detriment to visiting people. One wonders how she would cope with camping?

It's a VERY generalized Trust issue. And yes, she does check the doors everywhere she goes! Thus, camping is NOT on her list of activities!
To her credit she is working on that, however, it's slow going. We weren't ever safe around our mother growing up. And, if you CAN'T EVEN trust your own mother....well...it just really creates all sorts of problems in the areas of saftey and security. As I have mentioned, I struggle with the same issue, I just don't express it in the same way.
I do believe that visiting right next door to the source of the issue is contributing to her ANXIETY, even though she goes over there everyday to visit them and is far more patient with my mother's stuff than I am. At least, she demonstrates a composure- that I certainly haven't mastered- while in their presence.
Even when she returns just livid with our mother.
