10/19 "I'm Gay, OK?"
Quote From: dglanaMy son loved hair barrettes, ribbons and bows, bright colors, dolls, Legos, mechanics and electronics. He didn't care for sports and loved music. I tried not to make judgments about his play things. I wanted him to be himself. I didn't worry about it, and neither does he. My son is as straight as they come with a wonderful, loving girlfriend. He still wears fingernail polish because he likes color.
We had a neighbor whose brother had a son who loved cooking instead of baseball. He treated his son like something was wrong with him, failed to develop a relationship with his son, and his son struggled with identity, particularly his sexual identity. I believe sexual identity has more to do with relationships than with interests. I have two little boys 4&5yrs. But my older son likes to play with dolls, wear girl shoes or trys to talk like a girl. I try to put him into pee wee soccer or baseball but he doesn't like that. People say to me that if I let him do that he will end up being gay and other people tell me that I should just leave him alone. What do I do?
