I was just wondering

I read where our nation's bridges are in disrepair to the tune of $140 million. I also read that Exon Mobile reported a profit of $11.6 billion for this quarter. I thought a way to repair our bridges would be if the oil companies made a "Good Will" gesture by paying for the repairs of our nation's bridges instead of tax payers (who are being slammed with the cost of gas, etc). To those much is given, much is expected. I believe a gesture like that would not be forgotten. And that is what this country is about, working together for the whole.

A lot has been said recently about how much profits the oil industry make. How does the oil industry compare to other industries when it comes to profits?I know the highest paid CEO in Minneapolis is from United Healthcare, followed by I believe Target's CEO.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on that "Good Will" gesture. Doesn't Exxon-Mobile have to pay taxes on their profits?  They probably think they are already contributing enough to the government. The government has enough money to fix our infrastructure, they just aren't spending the taxpayer's money wisely.
