Beth -- Society pressures men to things alot dono't want... including and up to having children!
Look at the reaction by folks when couples say they deliberately say they aren't having kids... people look them with disdain and sometimes even loathing.
This is what society told Mikayla she had to be to be a man: do macho crap like join the military and be a cop, and to prove she could reproduce.
Yes, it would've been better off had she not had multiple marriages, fathered children, and try to "cure" her gender dysphoria by doing things society expected her to do.
