Hello Pokie!
I'm really happy to hear that you have a loving and supportive husband. So few women do! It always blows my mind when people will talk about how "great looking" someone is but because they are such a jerk I just can't see it, I find them "unattractive. Then there are those people who are not classically good looking but will have such a great heart and wonderful personality, that I find them to be extremely attractive. Do you know what I mean?
I too have been blessed with a wonderful and loving husband. He's the type of man who will say to me, "you don't need makeup, you're beautiful just the way you are". It's little things like that, that really make a difference. I really don't understand how a person can say that they love someone and put them down in the next sentence. I truly believe that true love "is" blind!
I happen to think that my husband is the most handsome, sexy man on this earth. I have no idea if it's true or not because I'm seeing him through my eyes, and that is all that matters. I've been told that he's handsome, but I look at him through my eyes and I'm the one who knows his heart so I'm obviously a little on the prejudice side where he's concerned.
I was disabled due to Severe Chronic Pain about 7 years ago or so and my husband has not only stayed by my side, but has been my "soft place to fall". He is incredibly supportive and helps me with everything from housecleaning and grocery shopping, to taking care of me when I'm feeling really bad. And this is after hes put in over a hundred hours in at work every week! Do you realize how many couples divorce because one of them becomes disabled? I couldn't imagine leaving my husband over something like that!
I'm really sorry that you've had to endure insults from ignorant and insufferable people. I really can't begin to understand that! One of these days something will happen to ALL of us, beauty and thinness don't last forever, and neither does our health. On top of of that we are all going to age, that is just something that can't be stopped! I don't have very many lines on my face for my age but the ones that I do have? I'm proud of them! I'm proud of the fact that I'm not 21 anymore! I have maturity and wisdom that one can only achieve from age. I feel sorry for those who feel the need for plastic surgery to try and stay looking young forever. They obviously are lacking in self confidence.
The Lap Band is the safest form of this type of surgery isn't it? I'm very happy for you and I hope that you heal quickly and have a very happy & healthy future ahead of you. I agree, fat or thin we all look good in God's eyes but when he looks into some of the uglier hearts out there, he probably won't be so impressed!
May God Bless you and keep you safe,
Jewels
