(Original Air Date: 04/21/06) Being a parent is hard enough, but what happens when Mom and Dad can't agree on how many kids to have, how to raise 'em and how to get ‘em to sleep?  Sometimes, it can lead to an all-out baby war! Matt's baby battle ended up in front of a judge and made headlines. He was ordered to pay child support for the baby he had with his ex-girlfriend, but he says he shouldn't have to cough up the money because she told him she wasn't able to get pregnant, and he told her he didn't want to be a father. He, his attorney, and the director of the National Center for Men discuss the lawsuit they filed, known as “Roe v. Wade for Men,” arguing that men should have a constitutional right to avoid fatherhood. Next, Dan says even though he and his wife, Lisa, already have four children, he wants just one more. Lisa has been pregnant on and off for 11 years and says she's closed for baby business. Will Dr. Phil help Dan see Lisa's point that four is enough? Then, a frustrated husband is camping out on the roof of his house and living in a tent. He refuses to go back to his bedroom until his wife moves their kids out of their bed and starts paying more attention to him. Can Dr. Phil get him to come down the ladder? Plus, a sleep expert has a simple method for getting your child to sleep through the night. See the plan in action! Share advice and talk about the show here.

WHEN YOU HAVE SEX

When you have sex you can get pleasure

When you have sex you can get babies

When you have sex you can get STDs

If you know this and you choose to have sex, you choose what comes with it.

Or you can have sex with yourself, by yourself.

baby battles

Yes it's true that men do not have the same rights as women, but men do not have to carry the baby for 9 months and have to go through the painful experiance of Labor. If a man does not want to have a baby then there is a simple solution keep it in your pants. And the same goes for women as well. No matter what sex you are if you personally feel or know that you are in a time of your life that you do not want to be a parent then just do not have sex.

Some sins are greater than others

Quote From: casslee

Here's the bottom line as I see it. Yes women are given all the choices and NO I do not agree with that at all. I think that each circumstance is unique, however if it comes down to a man being trapped, mislead, or lied to in regards to a woman's capability to get pregnant, I feel that he should have the same choices that the woman has. If the woman tricked him in to the pregnancy in anyway then I think that she should bear the entire responsibilty for the child if the man does not want the child. That is to say that to all of the woman in the world that give the rest of us a bad name... If you want to be dishonest then don't be expecting a monthly check! You wanted the child and you got pregnant under false pretenses so don't go thinking that you deserve any money for your sin! (YES LYING IS A SIN!)
Yes lying is a sin, but it's an even greater sin to withhold love, support & money from your child.

baby wars

I think the young man on the show is correct, I also have personal experience with this in that i was single and pregnant and have never recieved child support or filed . He never stuck around to find out or say good bye. But I do not hold anything against my son's father. I did an adult act and took responsibility for it. And I have never regretted it, and if he does come around or try to find his son I will not deny him any knowledge of his son. I hold no remorse or bad feeling toward the biological father of my son. I fully take responsibility for my part .

04/21 Baby Wars

Dr. Phil,,

If a guy doesn't want to be a father,  the only SAFE way to prevent it from happening, is to keep his zipper shut in the first place.

04/21 Baby Wars

Quote From: maggiejo

I am 21, I will be married for 2 years in June, and I have a beautiful 4 month old boy.  My husband and I were NOT ready to start a family yet but now we couldn't be happier, we are making it work.  Being a parent is the hardest thing I've ever done and it is the greatest joy in my life.  I would love to give Matt a piece of my mind.  It is ridiculous!  If he wasn't ready to be a parent then he shouldn't have been having sex - protected of not!  If he were to spend 2 minutes with that baby, his idea of being a parent would change.  He is being a big baby, so selfish.  I'd like to slap him across the face.

Oh yeah, physical violence... that  will teach him....

Good Lord, grow up the issue is the ability/ want to either take part in the childs future or not....

Men should have rights too

If a women lies to a man and becomes pregnant, then if the man does not want to be envolved he should not have to.  If the woman wants to keep the baby then she can raise it by herself no help emotionally or financially.

Baby Wars

Dr Phil,

As a single mom to a wonderful 12 year old son, whose father chose not to be a part of his son's life out of selfishness and self-indulgence, I am disgusted with your guests today - Each and every one of them is a self-centered, egomaniacal, narcisstic chauvenast.  Give 'em H E Double L  on behalf of the children who deserve better fathers than these examples of human debris.
