(Original Air Date: 04/21/06) Being a parent is hard enough, but what happens when Mom and Dad can't agree on how many kids to have, how to raise 'em and how to get ‘em to sleep?  Sometimes, it can lead to an all-out baby war! Matt's baby battle ended up in front of a judge and made headlines. He was ordered to pay child support for the baby he had with his ex-girlfriend, but he says he shouldn't have to cough up the money because she told him she wasn't able to get pregnant, and he told her he didn't want to be a father. He, his attorney, and the director of the National Center for Men discuss the lawsuit they filed, known as “Roe v. Wade for Men,” arguing that men should have a constitutional right to avoid fatherhood. Next, Dan says even though he and his wife, Lisa, already have four children, he wants just one more. Lisa has been pregnant on and off for 11 years and says she's closed for baby business. Will Dr. Phil help Dan see Lisa's point that four is enough? Then, a frustrated husband is camping out on the roof of his house and living in a tent. He refuses to go back to his bedroom until his wife moves their kids out of their bed and starts paying more attention to him. Can Dr. Phil get him to come down the ladder? Plus, a sleep expert has a simple method for getting your child to sleep through the night. See the plan in action! Share advice and talk about the show here.

04/21 Baby Wars

Quote From: ladylexus5

I am a middle age mother of children who are grown and college graduates.  I manage a large professional office and I work with TWO women who also got them selfs pregnant because they tricked men with the same excuse I can't get pregnant or I am on the pill.  Everyone in the office knew exactly what had transpired when they annouced their pregnancy's. I firmly believe that if they wanted a child so badly why have and do they continue to hunt these men down for money when in both situation like this young man's they told these women they did not want children or a commitment.  If this young women wanted this child so badly that she needs to support it herself.
Which is exactly WHY men need to protect themselves.

Never an even playing ground

This gentleman's attorney said he would like there to be a more even playing ground when it comes to options for men & women when having a baby...the bottom line is that until men are given the god given ability to give birth to a child,it will never be an even playing nor should anyone expect it to be!

It's About Time

It's about time that some one some where stood up and started screaming about this. No one had any arguments when it was suggested that women were churning babies out to get welfare checks, but no one has ever thought about the fathers of those babies.

I've seen probably a dozen babies spit out in the last 5 years to couples in which the 'father' NEVER wanted to be one. Everyone and anyone who knew these men knew they didn't want children, yet everyone of them is now paying support for a child they don't even see let alone support emotionally.

Dr. Phil gives women too much leeway because of hormonal changes that occur when a baby hijacks a womans body. Saying that after you find out your pregnant often women have a change of heart and want to keep the baby because of hormonal changes. THAT'S HER CHOICE. We all do things in our lives because of emotion or physical changes to our bodies that we wouldn't have done otherwise but that excuse isn't recognized by the law or a lot more  PMS sufferers would be widows by their own hands.

If a woman gets pregnant accidentally and knew beforehand that the 'father' didn't want to be a father, then if she chooses to carry to term & raise the baby THAT'S WHAT SHE CHOSE!

The man shouldn't be forced to live up to HER CHOICE.

Men have been treated like second-class citizens for far too long when it comes to parenthood.

PS This was written by a women (just so's ya know)

Don't have sex...

Don't have sex. if you don't want children. Once that child is in exsistance you ARE a parent reguardlaess where the child live or who raises it. That child is still and will forever be your flesh and blood, and no judge or jury can change that. Children are gifts and should be cherished. If you are this selfish now you are never going to be a "GOOD" parent.

MATT MADE THE UNCONSIOUS DECISION TO BECOME A FATHER WHEN HE CHOSE TO HAVE SEX.  THERE IS ALWAYS THAT POSSIBILITY!!!  HE NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE, BE A MAN AND FINANCIALLY SUPPORT HIS DAUGHTER.  IF HE CHOOSES NOT TO BE A PART OF HER LIFE, THAT WOULD PROBABLY BE IN HER BEST INTEREST SINCE HE DEFINITELY WOULD NOT BE AN ACCEPTABLE ROLE MODEL IN HER LIFE.
Isn't it a fact that there is a reason for the law to begin with?  I not exactly sure how many years ago it became a law but there was time when men weren't responsible for there actions and there were millions of women on welfare because they didn't have anyone to help raise there babies.  Isn't this why there is a law making the man responsible for there actions?  Even if they don't like it.  Is it the laws fault that the man couldn't learn from his mistakes?  Maybe women have more rights because they are the ones who carry it.  Ya think man would have more rights about a babys future if they gained weight ate vitamins, exercised and ate right so that baby is healthy?  Then you get to experience the most pain you will ever experience.  And hey maybe it goes fast maybe it don't.  I think that if women have to carry it they should be reimbursed for all the damages.  You think stretch marks are attractive?  I think not.  Lets talk diapers....if you paid me a dollar a diaper I would still not like it.   How about all the things you want them to learn and all the things you can only hope they listen to because you love them and you want them to not make your mistakes.  What about all the weirdos you don't want them to talk to and all the peers that you don't want them hanging out with.  There is more to life then just who is at fault and who should and shouldn't be responsible.  Just for a week take the baby in your heart and you will never let her go.  I can't imagine being Matt and sitting there for all the world to see how imature he is and how petty he can make the life of a child seem.  Poor elizabeth.  And when Matt is older and mature.  When he wants to be a part of something.  He will be constantly reminded of his true abandonment of Elizabeth.  Like they tell us women.  Its a pain you forget.  I think its Gods way of helping us to procreate.  hahaha

Fatherhood!

Dr Phil... good grief tell it like it is!

Does he think he was just beamed down to enjoy his sexual pleasures... I think NOT!

If a man lets "Tom Dick and Hairy" out from behind the zipper of his pants (and maybe the problem was he did not have it zipped to begin with) THEN it IS his responsibilty to step up to the plate for creating the life of a child!!!

04/21 Baby Wars

My Grandma always said,"Those who stay out & dance all night, have to get up & pay the fiddler."  My Mom always said, "If you are ready to play, then you are ready to pay."

Matt, you're shirking a responsibility by trying to manipulate your 'rights.'

I didn't want to be a father

This guy is pitiful.  If he did not want to be a father then he shouldn't of had sex with the young.  He is the baby's father and he should take responsibility.
