The purpose of this board is to debate your views about a particular religion or belief. I understand Religion is a touchy subject, but this board is designed for you to ask questions as well as present arguments for your particular Religion or belief.

You can definitely challenge others, but no calling others names. Feel free to debate away.

When I was a kid I would say my parents said I wasn't allowed to do something, if it was something I didn't want to do, but wasn't sure how to get out of it.

Exactly Michele!

What Michele described has nothing to do with this particular situation.

I find it extremely humorous that you think she has the "exact" answer, when she has no knowledge of the sit. other than what ive provided, but you consistantly refuse to believe me who is smack dab in the middle of the whole thing.

Its too funny, Cheryl!!  :D

But ya know... whatever you need to tell yourself is fine with me!  :)

Debating Among Different Religious Beliefs

Good Morning,

Just a heads up....the new Beta community will eventually be the only boards in which to communicate on, I signed up and am learning how to navigate it now, I recommend others do the same, as the mods stated that they intend to phase these boards out and switch entirely to the Beta format.

I'm sure they will give fair warning before doing so.  Still if anyone is technologically challenged (as I am) you may want to play around on it sooner as opposed to later.

Hoping everyone is enjoying their morning....or "sleep" HAHAHA!

LOL!

Youre too funny, Cheryl!

The point is anything but "moot".  Unlike you, we know this girl.  Know her family life.  Know how she has been raised.  Know a whole heck of alot of things about her.  When she told Tina she couldnt be friends with her anymore cus she wasnt a Christian she meant exactly what she said.

I see nothing I say will have you believing that.  Thats cool.  I dont care.  Im just glad there ARE people on board who have been willing to accept what I say as truth and to show me and my daughter some compassion, understanding, support, concern and love.

THANK YOU to EVERYONE who offered up support and understanding, compassion and concern for Tina and me regarding this unfortunate situation.  HUGS for YOU!  :)

It is funny......how Cheryl won't accept your explanation....but as for me I find it FUNNY for a different reason.

I give Cheryl a lot more credit for being intelligent then she tries to portray.  She is only pretending not to "get it"......she would rather be assumed "unintelligent" then EVER go against a Christian's decision to do anything ESPECIALLY if that decision is to reject a non-Christian.  She's been hard wired to not pay attention to her own intelligence.....her own MIND .....then openly admit how wrong that was.

Look at what followers of God did to people in the OT......   She feels a rejection is better then that so what is Tina upset about.

"Right" or "Wrong".....becomes reversed in her mind when it comes to her religion.  As long as somebody is doing something for God......it immediately becomes "right"...even if she knows damn well how wrong it is.

Amusing...isn't it?

Just like cursing....she is adamant how wrong it is....but because SHE is a follower of God and here to convert....she gets to say BS without people saying she must be cursing up a storm in her personal life.  It's all relative....

  LMAO!!!

Well I dont know what her problem is with believing me as im not a lier and would never post some false story for whatever whack reason.  As well as if it was possible there was another explanation other than what ive provided, I would be jumping all over that just to protect my child!  Do people REALLY think I wouldnt go for any other explanation if it was at all possible???  I most assuredly would as I could at least spare my daughter from finding out what it feels like to be discriminated against for her personal beliefs.

Unfortuantely, I cant do that as I have to deal with the situation AS IT IS.  Im not lucky enough as some posters on board to be able to come up with some false alterior motives to make it a nicer situation all the way around.  Its really too bad that I cant do that!  Sure wish I COULD!!

Maybe the reasoning for her refusal to believe me is as you say.  Or maybe its simply because she hasnt ever experienced this kind of thing so she just cant believe it happens.  If THAT is the case, then she ought to get down on her knees and say a prayer of thanks to God!

And yet another 'sick' person

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 Student accuses Ferndale teacher of being a witch and tries to set her on fire Mike Martindale / The Detroit News

FERNDALE -- A 20-year-old man is facing an assault charge after allegedly accusing his English literature teacher of being a witch and then pouring liquid on her. The man also threatened the teacher with a cigarette lighter and cigarette.

Darin Najor of Ferndale is charged with assault and battery, a 93-day misdemeanor in the Sept. 11 incident at Taft Educational Center where he attends adult education classes, Ferndale Police Lt. William Wilson said today. The students had been reading Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" regarding the Salem witch trials.

"This apparently occurred after a class discussion on witchcraft, and what people used to do with witches," said Wilson. "After one class, he asked his teacher if she believed in witchcraft and what was done, and she said no. The next thing she knew, he came up behind her and poured some liquid on her out of a bottle and ignited a cigarette lighter, as if he was going to light her on fire."

The liquid later proved to be a nonflammable substance, Wilson said, and the teacher was not injured in the incident.

The 36-year-old teacher, not knowing that and fearing for her safety, fled the classroom and notified school security officers who found Najor in the parking lot, smoking a cigarette.

"He approached her again with the cigarette -- as if he was going to burn her," said Wilson.

Najor was committed to a hospital for 72-hour observation and later released from the hospital. He appeared Tuesday for arraignment on the assault charge, complained of not feeling well and was placed back in an area hospital for observation, police said.

Najor has been expelled from the school, Detective Ken Denmark said.

Yeah...Mim...I think EVERYBODY believes it's exactly the way you say it is....even Cheryl.  She is just continually trying to put ALL Christians (well not all....especially Catholics) in the best possible light she can.  It's a head game to convince others that her brand of Christianity always has sound reason for their mean acts.

Also I think I need to explain to you....a few days ago when Cheryl was "speculating" on why this happened to Tina....I did some "speculating" myself.  However...I was being totally sarcastic.....LOL!  I hope you don't think I really took any of those things into consideration....

Until you tell us different...I believe it's EXACTLY the way you say.

Hope you're having a good morning!
