Hi,

I have news for your husband - many people never get to that stage of having all their ducks in a row - and if they did they would be too old to have babies. From experience I would say that your husband is either not ready yet or not being honest (maybe just with you but also maybe with himself too) and really does not want kids. Try to talk to him about it, without causing a fight. Both of you need to be calm. Point out the fact that if you wait to pay off house etc, you will be nearly 45/50 years of age and want kids while you are young enough to enjoy them. Hormones do change you and once the baby is born you will change again then also but if you have a plan set up and discuss all aspects of children, from the birth to care and if and when you are willing to go back to work, whether you have family to help or will be paying for childcare etc. then he will know what you expect and you will know where he stands.  Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks so much. I do need the feed back and support. I will talk to him about it and see what comes of it. I agree with what you said I just needed a little reassurance. Thanks

Help Me...

Hi, my partner and I have been trying to have a baby for a while now. I have been told that because I have medical conditions that if i want kids that i would have to try for them bout 7 years before i want them because the chance i do fall pregnant is slim. I have been to the dr and he referred me but no one is helping me. I desperately want a child. It just seems like it will never happen. I worried that i won't get the chance to get the one thing in life i want the most. Please someone help me, any advice would be appreciated..

Quote From: ilovepat

I am 21 years old and just celebrated my 3rd year with my husband. For the past year and a half we have been trying to conceive our first baby. I was on the depo shot for 4 years prior to this I have no idea what is wrong with me or what to do about it i ask my dr. and she doesn't know what to do either ! I have run into a brick wall! Anybody have any suggestions?
ok, i am 20 years old and was on the depo provera shot for 4 years as well...i have been of it for 2 years and trying to conceive the hole time...and nothing...my periods are still irregular i am having strange pains..and recently read a lot and i mean around 355 depo provera HORROR STORIES...this is scary..YES..so i am in the same bout as u..i am so confused and don't know what to do..I honestly think there is a lot to the depo that we are not told about and that is not publicly known..i think it does cause infertility to tell u the truth considering every person i read about ended up having health problems and fertility problems..please write back thanks a lot...meg

Just wanted to let you know that I know where you are coming from.  I am in the same situation.  I want children more then anything.  My dr would not listen to me when I told him that something was wrong.  My advice to you is to see another doctor or tell your current doctor that you want to be sent for tests to figure you why you can no concieve.  Invitro-Fertilization may be an options for you as well.  Just don't give up hope!

Getting Pregnant

Quote From: mellyrae

Hi my name is Melanie, and I have a problem carrying a baby. I need help with carrying a child. In 2003 I got pregnant and found out my third month that I had an Eptopic pregancy. I never heard of it before. But I was TOO far along to just abort the pregancy by a shot, so I had to have surgery to remove the Fetus. I was so devastated by the loss. I was wanted the baby so much! SO two years later I got pregnant again, but this time I had MANY blood work done to be sure I didn't have another Eptopic pregancy, but unfortunatly I did have another one, but this time I was only a month or so, so I was able to get a shot to rid of the pregancy. I did however ask if there was away to save the fetus but the doctor said "NO!" Again I was really upset. This past February I got pregnant again and had a misscarriage. I'm so depressed at this point. Anytime I see anyone with a baby all I do is cry. Anytime I hear of someone I know that find's out they are having a baby REALLY upsets me. I just don't understand why me?!

I understand where you are coming from!  My situation is that I can not get pregnant.  Invitro is our only option, which we are going to try in a few months.  Wanting something so bad and not being able to have it hurts like no one can understand!  Seeing how others can have it so easily makes you question alot of things.  So, Melanie please know that you are not the only one.  Talk to your dr to see what options you have and if there are tests you can take to see what the problem may be.  I feel your heartache!

Perfectly normal

Quote From: angelmery

Hi,

Im not sure if anyone else feels like this. I am 25 years old and I have been married for 2 years (my husband is 30).  I have worked in childcare for 9 years and I have wanted a baby of my own since I was about 18. I don't feel  unloved or unfurfilled  and I  am very happy with my marriage except for one thing. I want a baby BAD! My husband says he wants a baby too but wants to have "ducks in a line" , meaning lots of money ,a house, our cars paid off ect. We have a house (we just got it) and he still says "You have lots of childbearing years left" . Am I crazy ? Where can I turn for help and support ? Its getting to the point that I cry  and get in a jealous rage when other people have babies ! Please help

It's perfectly normal to want to have a baby, and like another poster mentioned, it's almost impossible to have all the "ducks in a line."  There is always more that needs to be done.

Ovulation Tests

Hi All!

I am new here and am wanting some advice.  My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 months after being on the pill for 6 years.  Since stopping the pill in feb I have had regular periods.  My question is...what is the best ovulation test to get?  I have the ovulation scope right now which you put your saliva on put I can't make much since out of it.  Any advice would be great, thanks

Ive never understood how ovulation tests work, so instead I started charting using the Fertility Awareness Method (it requires you to take you temperature every morning and checking your cervical fluid), which tells you not only when you ovulate, but if you are ovulating at all and how to tell if you are pregnant or are just having a delayed period. the main book on this is Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It takes a couple of months to get the hang of it, but its really worth it.
