If there are any other people in this world sick and tired of gas prices ....finally have the chance for you yourself to do something about it....as many of you know the head of gas in this economy is of course exon and mobile...... what if these two organizations didnt have the ability to sell gas such as people just not buying it.... What would happen?    As you have seen in the past if a company can not sell the high priced gas that it has already purchased then they must lower their prices to get rid of it or lose hundreds of thousands of dollars.....So what do you think would happen if people just stop buying gas from these stations for a while?     They will eventually have to lower their prices!!!!!   and once they do everyone else will have to because they cant sell theirs due to exons and mobiles being so cheap!   So STAND UP AND FIX THIS PROBLEM FOR YOURSELVES   stop for a while buying gas from these big wig companies and lets see how long their gas prices can stay at 3.00 dollars a gallon here in the US.    All it will take is just driving across the street to get gas or driving a little farther to fill up for a while ..... We all will be able to reap its rewards once you do and for many that means quiting that third job they had to have just buy gas for the week........WE CAN DO THIS.....ESPECIALLY SINCE THE MONEY MAKING GOVERNMENT CANT SEEM TO GET A HOLD ON IT.  Have any questions or replys please quote back.....                  ABURKES

Global Warming=Junk Science....

 

This is only slightly off topic, as it could affect whether the government allows you to drive an SUV or not. 

 

The Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine (OISM) released a petition signed by 31,000 scientists (9000 of them PhD's) that say that global warming is basically junk science.  They contend that Carbon Dioxide, Methane, and other greenhouse gases are not causing an increase in global temperture, nor are they harmful to the environment.  Google "The Petition Project" and see for yourself, or here's the link:

Despite these endorsements by more scientists that endorse global warming (about 1000), the reaction from both the Bush Administration and the Obama campaign seem to be going in the opposite direction.

 

 

"As further evidence of its shell-shocked state of fact avoidance, just last week the Bush administration announced that it was listing the polar bear as "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act — even though there are many more polar bears today than 40 years ago and predictions of the bear’s demise are entirely based on politically inspired speculation."

 

 

In a campaign stop in Oregon, Obama called for the U.S. to "lead by example" on global warming. "We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say 'OK.' … That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen," he said.

 

A President Obama apparently would decide how to regulate the pantries, thermostats and modes of personal transportation of his fellow Americans based on the emotional temperature of every non-American who happens to harbor an opinion on how we should live."

More on global trends....

 

Are we going through global warming? Yes we are. Is global warming a natural cycle? Yes it is. At our current .2 deg. C above mean (ca 2000), are we going into globlal crisis? No we aren't. We're 3.8 degrees below at least two of the most recent past interglacerial periods.

 

 

In the Mid-Cretaceous period, the fossil record indicates that the earth was much, much warmer than in the past 150,000 years, with tropical plants growing as far north as Greenland.  This was during the time of the dinosaurs, but they had little to do with the temperatures then.  Industrialization has an impact on C02 and other gases, but how much of an impact is in question.

 

The trend in climate changes are not outside the variations of the known paleoclimatic cycles.  There seems to be an agenda to sell out our country to the UN via the Kyoto Protocol.  Preservation is not what I take issue with, it's the approach.

5. STOP CONGRESS FROM USING LEASED CARS that WE PAY FOR!

Thought that might help explain what ANWR really is and how drilling on it would be beneficial to anyone who drives.  Drilling on less than 1% of ANWR is NOT going to harm the wildlife, just move the polar bears and baby harp seals to the other side of the reserve.

You know, back when President Bush asked the American public to vote on drilling in the ANWR, my first thought was, "Oh no, if fhis doesn't come about we're going to see fighting in the Middle East!"

 

On this, I really hated to be proved correct.

 

People, all you have to do is pay attention and it's not that difficult to understand why our politicians do the things they do!

 

Of course nobody wants to see drilling in a pristine environment, why do you think the USA has resisted drilling in the homeland for decades?  The difference is that now, demand for crude oil from the Middle East is coming not just from North America and Western Europe, but from developing countries such as the statesof the former Soviet Union, India and China. And it WILL NOT get better over time, it's only going to get worse. We need to be self sufficient, or nearly so, and we needed it about 30 years ago.

In my opinion our only answer is to develope alternatives, of which ethanol is strictly a temporary source. With viable soils for the production of food in a finite supply, it's criminal to use it for energy production.

But there again, we absolutely have to have oil until we have developed an affordable, widely available, viable and sustainable source. This will take years. We have already wasted the 7 years it's been since President Bush floated that proposition.  How much longer will we be dependent on the Middle East? (With all the troubles that that entails.) It is up to us to decide. We are not at "the mercy" of oil companies or the Arabs, we are only at the mercy of our own impatience for a quick fix and our unwillingness to pay attention to what is really going on in the world. We are only "held hostage" by our short-sightedness.

And a lot of that short-sightedness is the fault of our news media which seeks to entertain us instead of informing us. But that is a topic for another debate and I digress....

And as to getting your wage raised to cover the cost of gasoline, this sort of short-sighted response is what leads to runaway inflation, the likes of which we saw in the 1980's.

Have you thought of living closer to where you work, car-pooling (if you do this right, you get your gas paid for and then some), riding a bike, taking the bus, or finding a way to get your boss to let you work out of your home, at least part of the time?

Traditionally, when the going got tough, we Americans got going. What the hell happened?

I think you've hit the nail on the head with this. Does this mean we're "off the hook" in regards to controllng pollution? A huge emphatic NO.

 

It just means that when you hear the politicians appeals for a tax (or something to that affect) that adds up to billions of dollars, pounds, francs, marks, rubles, etc, to "combat" global warming, you can safely deduce that you are being bamboozled out of your hard earned dollars, pounds, etc etc.

 

Face it people, if the oceans rise, the coastal cities are going to go the way of Venice, Italy. If governments are trying to raise money for the affects this will cause, why don't they just say so?

Any attempts to reverse a warming trend can only be an exercise in futility, as this is a natural cycle of the earth.

Yes, it's very crazy.  The Chinese are drilling 60 miles off the shore of Florida.  It's sickening, they're basically taking the oil we could procure for our own benefit.

 

OPEC sells oil for $136.00 a barrel.
OPEC nations buy U.S. grain at $7.00 a bushel.
Solution: Sell grain for $136.00 a bushel.
Can't buy it? Tough! Eat your oil!
Ought to go well with a nice thick grilled filet of camel BUTT!

George Carlin's Solution to Save Gasoline . . . .





Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use..... The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants!

That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down.....

Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the Border....

When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq ..

Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.... .





Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.....

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country.....

He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot.....

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.. ....

If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo.....

Problem solved.....

At this posting there are currently 2 new refineries being built in the USA, the first in 30 years. There are many others increasing efficiency and output as we speak.
