If there are any other people in this world sick and tired of gas prices ....finally have the chance for you yourself to do something about it....as many of you know the head of gas in this economy is of course exon and mobile...... what if these two organizations didnt have the ability to sell gas such as people just not buying it.... What would happen?    As you have seen in the past if a company can not sell the high priced gas that it has already purchased then they must lower their prices to get rid of it or lose hundreds of thousands of dollars.....So what do you think would happen if people just stop buying gas from these stations for a while?     They will eventually have to lower their prices!!!!!   and once they do everyone else will have to because they cant sell theirs due to exons and mobiles being so cheap!   So STAND UP AND FIX THIS PROBLEM FOR YOURSELVES   stop for a while buying gas from these big wig companies and lets see how long their gas prices can stay at 3.00 dollars a gallon here in the US.    All it will take is just driving across the street to get gas or driving a little farther to fill up for a while ..... We all will be able to reap its rewards once you do and for many that means quiting that third job they had to have just buy gas for the week........WE CAN DO THIS.....ESPECIALLY SINCE THE MONEY MAKING GOVERNMENT CANT SEEM TO GET A HOLD ON IT.  Have any questions or replys please quote back.....                  ABURKES

ANYONE ELSE SICK OF GAS PRICES? DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!

Heard this new song from PINK the other day and it says it all for me;

PINK LYRICS

"Dear Mr. President"
(feat. Indigo Girls)

Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep
What do you feel when you look in the mirror
Are you proud

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why

Dear Mr. President
Were you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye

Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh

How do you sleep at night
How do you walk with your head held high
Dear Mr. President
You'd never take a walk with me
Would you

BOYCOTT EXXON MOBIL

It’s not that we pay too much per gallon for gas – Europeans pay much more and have for years – it’s that the gas and oil barons get to rip us off with such impunity.   The $400 million retirement package that the Exxon mogul recently received, which was in addition to his already enormous salary and benefits, made me sick to my stomach.  And this is the same guy who was sending memos out years ago about how to deflect criticism related to global warming.  The incredible greed, cynicism and self-interest of these bloodsuckers appears to be boundless. They are all bad, but Exxon Mobil seems to be worse.  That’s why I say BOYCOTT EXXON MOBIL.

I think it's both that we pay too much per gallon for gas and that companies rip us off because they can. They know that gas will always be demanded. I hate the whole supply/demand circumstances because there is such a high demand for gas which does allow the suppliers to raise the price in order to make a larger profit.

There is no reason why the gas prices should be this high. I feel sorry for the Europeans and other areas that have paid high gas prices for years. Gas/oil should not be that expensive. There is plenty of it around the world. People are just being too greedy. I agree with you when you stated "The incredible greed, cynicism and self-interest of these bloodsuckers appears to be boundless".

Ride your bike to work.

We can cut down on the amount of fuel we use. If you live close to your work, bike ride, walk or jog to work. You get the added bonus of exercise and you don't have to sit at stoplights or in traffic.

If that's not an option, carpool! Buy a car that's fuel efficient. Our lust for big vehicles is driving up the prices. Make sure the vehicle you have is tuned up and the tires aren't worn; a well tuned vehicle uses gasoline more effiiently.

There is something we can do about this.

Oh please!

You people need to pay attention to what 's going on in the world. Simply boycotting a couple of companies isn't going to do a thing to reduce prices. If the companies that everybody is buying their gas from run short, they will simply buy it from the companies that are being boycotted.
And now with China, India, and other formerly 3rd world countries competing for oil, prices are going to continue to go up. Are you also going to boycott them?!
Get real, the only viable answer is to get serious about alternative fuel sources. It's good for prices and the environment, but will be painful to switch to in the short term due to our whole society being enmeshed with the oil industry. Politicians pander to big oil because of voters who can't see beyond their own small world. Vote for people who have a track record for being seriously concerned about this, not the ones who only get serious in election years to enhance their image.
This has been coming for a long, long time and the past 3 administrations have all ducked the issue. It's all going to get much worse before it gets any better. Brace yourselves.

Even in Africa they pay at least 4 dollars a gallon and they don't have any money to spend! We complain about our gas prices, yet look around the world...we have one of the cheapest prices out there! Stop belly aching and just get on with it. I'm waiting until we finally catch up with the rest of the world and pay in litres, therefore paying more!

We may have the cheapest gas prices compared to other places, but it is still too high for gas. You can wait with excitement for the gas prices to rise, that's your prerogative. I don't know if you live in the US or not because your profile conflicts with your statement here. Your profile says you live in Uganda while here it says "I'm waiting until we finally catch up with the rest of the world......etc". I don't know if that means that you live in the US, but are visiting Uganda or what. People have every right to feel outraged by the gas prices and to just sit back and not voice opinions is very naive.

I agree with what you posted. Gas prices are rising because of greed, not because there is a lack of it.

There is something we can do about this.

I blame both the corporations and the people.

I am totally sympathetic to people who drive small cars or hybrids who complain about gas prices.  But people who drive around in SUVs and Trucks and complain about gas prices just annoy me.  Did it occur to you that you would have to put gas into the SUV/Truck?  Did it occur to you that it would take a lot more gas?   Do these people even know that SUVs/Trucks are less safe including for those in the SUV/Truck than normal cars?    I get a good laugh when I see/hear about people you used to own SUVs/Trucks getting them reposed because they can't afford them anymore, who know have to take the bus because they wasted all their money on an inferior product that is far more expensive than a normal car.   People in Europe are smart enough to know this and to buy regular cars for there families.  Only in America!

The other things that sickens is people who are perfectly healthy and capable of walking(usually in SUVs) that drive about 2 blocks to get somewhere (and we wonder why Americans are so fat).   Case in point:  there was a resturant 2 or 3 blocks from where I was taking a class for work.  Most of the people who went there for lunch got in there cards and drove there.

The point is yes we are being completely gouged and cheated, but it isn't like we can't do anything about it!
