Topic : 08/09 A Mother's Rage

I was wondering if the parents have gotten any kind of help.  Because i dont think the kids should have gone home with the parents.  The kids should have gone to a relatives house or something before going back with the parents.  I would be afraid the parents would do it again before getting help. 

Dr. Phil:

I was appauled by the mother's actions.  I find it hard to believe that her husband was unaware of what was going on.  I feel that he was also a contributing factor since he was also hiting or threatening the children with the stick.

In addition to the parents getting the help they need and the children counseling for the trauma they have experienced I hope DSS is monitoring these parents to ensure that the mother is not continuing her abuse.

Do you know the difference between an explanation and a justification? Evidently not.

Understanding someone's behavior has nothing to do with sanctioning it. The person you're responding to never said that Karen's behavior was right or okay. Before you flame someone, you should read what they actually said, instead of reading into it what isn't there.

I turned on the Dr Phil show in the evening as I do sometimes.....and I had to change the channel.  I started to cry ..

I was abused by my stepmother and vowed as a parent ( to my step daughter and 2 daughters) I would never hurt my children. I have been mad and have yelled..but I  was floored and how this woman treated her childrem..helpless children

This brought back so much emotion in me of my childhood. I had to turn it off and rushed to the room my daughters were in. I hugged them so tight and tried to not show them the tears of joy I had. I am very blessed...2 beautiful ,healthy, happy girls who are everything to me.

I hope that this woman gets help to figure out what is making her so angry and hurtful. I also hope her children get help to realize this is not their fault and that they are special too!

      I AM GLAD THAT THIS SHOW WAS AIRED BECAUSE I THINK IT MAKES US SEE WHAT WE DO TO OUR CHILDREN AND SAY TO THEM EVERY DAY THAT MAYBE DISTROYONG THEM AND WE DONOT EVEN REALIZE IT. WE ALL WERE RAISED IN A WORLD DIFFERANT THAN TODAY AND MY HUSBANDS DAD KICKED HIM IN THE REAR WITH HIS BOOTS JUST AS THIS MANS DAD DID, AND AS DR. PHIL SAID IT DOESNOT MAKE IT RIGHT. BUT WE ARE CREATURES OF HABIT AND WHAT WE ARE TAUGHT. I DONOT APPROVE OF THE WAY THE MOTHER WAS BEHAVING BUT LORD, REALLY YOU WANT ME TO BELIEVE THIS WAS GOING ON AND THE FATHER WAS NOT AWARE. I LEFT A MARRIAGE WERE THE HUSBAND WAS NOT PLUGGED IN BECAUSE IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE MOTHER OR THE CHILDREN. THAT MAN WAS ALSO AT FAULT TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO THE FAMILY. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN TUNE WITH HIS WIFE AND KNEW SHE NEEDED HELP. I THINK HE WAS ALSO PART OF THE ABUSE AND WANTED IT TO BE ON HER SHOULDERS. WHY NOT SHE WROTE FOR THE HELP. SHE NEEDS COUNSELING AND SHE NEEDS THE LORD IN HER LIFE AND A HUSBAND WHO IS TUNED IN. FAMILY COUNSELING IS A GREAT MEDICINE FOR THIS. IT WORKED FOR ME.GOD BLESS AND PLEASE KEEP US INFORMED.

I could not believe that the kids were so protective of their mother, when she was so non-protective of them from herself....how pitiful for her. She is a disgrace to woman, people like her do not deserve to have kids. I think about those kids almost daily.....for the sake of the kids I hope this(Dr.Phil) was the Knight and Shining Armour on the White Horse they have been waiting for, as the other person in their life(dad) was a fall down as well.
