Whenever Dr. Phil walks down the street, people ask: “What’s going on with Marty, Erin, Alex and Katherine?” This divided family first came on the show when their 15-year-old daughter, Alex, was pregnant and her condition was ripping their lives apart. erin is the mom.. i got confused. de dah dee. she prob isn't there with them nemore. as my brother in law says hit the bricks. and n1 wants 2 tell you. if i was the girls mom. i'd tell the youngest girl you don't like tough. your stuck with this family. i couldn't believe she said she wanted 2 be put up 4 adoption. boo who..lifes so hard

You are so right! I was 18 when I had my son and I got soooo many dirty looks. He is 3 now and I still get dirty looks!! Why can't all mothers support one another? Why do we have to be careless with other human beings feelings? Alex you don't listen to any of these crazy people who say you don't raise your child and your a bad mom because your young. You seem wonderful to me and I wish you the BEST in life!

Regarding Erin

Watching the show and hearing references to Erin--the parents dating, the incredibly minimal video of Erin, the comments from all three that their relationships with Erin were good left me wondering why she would be so minimized. I hope so very much that she is also doing as splendidly as the girls and their father are. I hope so!

Disappointed in Dr. Phil

I am happy that Alex and her family has some sense of a happier family. However, I am disappointed in Dr. Phil for giving Alex a new truck. He basically rewarded a teen mother for doing what a lot of other people do without the benefit of having family to help them like Alex does. The more appropriate thing for Dr. Phil to do was maybe help with the costs of her education (maybe pay for her books) or start a education fund for her son Nathan. Did Dr. Phil give an though to how Alex was to pay the insurance on a new large truck or the costs of gas? People wonder where todays youth gets there feeling of entitlement from, I say the example here is Dr. Phil.

Wow, I wish I had a kid at 16.

Wait, I did. But I never got a new truck for it. I never got understanding and butt kissing. I got my child kidnapped by the adoption system in Los Angeles.

The people that get their college and living expenses paid for are the people who fit into a financial low bracket. I am married with 2 kids and I have to take out student loans to pay for my school, gas, and child care to the tune of $8,000 per semester at a public university. Oh lets just give all the single moms and low income families scholarships from my husband's tax money and leave us in debt for 10 years for it.

i don't get it

catherine went through a really rough time with her parents also. and yes, she got a really nice saddle out of the deal. but she came into it feeling loved less than alex (the favorite) and i think in the end she would still feel that way. her good behavoir could have been rewarded with clinics with a top trainer & etc. i can't help but think she would feel slighted once again that her sister received a $20,000 ++ truck and she received a custom made saddle ( which is GREAT!) but ........once again much the under dog for staying on the right path. i love dr. phil and watch him faithfully but i think he could have done more for catherine. he might not now about people who love horse but it is a very expensive hobby....especially if you want to take it to the next level.

Dr. Phil Family

I was so happy for Katherine when Dr. Phil gave her the new saddle for riding her horse. You could see the excitement she felt, but then when he gave Alex the truck, you could see the disappointment in Katherines face. The last time the family was on, Dr. Phil gave Alex a chance to live her dream of scuba diving and this time Alex "upped" her sister again. I think it is very generous of Dr. Phil to give the girls things, and to help out this family but atleast make it even. I'm rooting for Katherine to get a car for her good grades and all around good attitude....or maybe just for her 18th birthday!! lol Other than that, I was glad to see the family doing so well, and Nathan is just adorable. Keep us updated Dr. Phil!!!

Well wouldn't it have been nice if you DID get a truck and some "butt kissing"....? What skin is it off your nose that this girl got a new truck.

Comments like this are just bitter.

And what does your child being "kidnapped" have to do with this girl? Did she take your kid? No. Bitter...
