Whenever Dr. Phil walks down the street, people ask: “What’s going on with Marty, Erin, Alex and Katherine?” This divided family first came on the show when their 15-year-old daughter, Alex, was pregnant and her condition was ripping their lives apart. Alex has accomplished a lot in three years. Get an update on her son, Nathan. Plus, Alex’s younger sister, Katherine, felt anger and resentment about the pregnancy and the constant chaos in her parents’ marriage. Find out how she’s been coping, and hear the burning question Marty has for Dr. Phil. Then, see the amazing surprises in store for this family! And, Dr. Phil follows up with another unforgettable guest, April. She was the anorexic bride, whose husband ended their marriage over the phone. How is she adjusting to life as a single woman? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

Outstanding!

You know, this is the first time that I have seen this family, but I'm happy to hear that they're doing really well now! Nathan will have a good life ahead of him, & I'm so happy for Alex & her family to turn everything around in which they have bad things going on for them that they had before. My prayers goes out to all of them, especially Alex & Nathan. Very well done!

I missed it.

I missed the first 15 min. of today's show.  I know CRAZY right!  That's what happens when you have kids.  Can someone please tell me why Erin was not on the show today?

I was very surprised that they did not mention the boy today.  What ever happened to him?  It feels like the Grandson has taken his place.  Maybe it is a good idea he is not living at home?  The girls seem to have gotten spoiled by both parents and Dr. Phil and the boy was just thrown away it seems?
I think you have the two families mixed up, the family today only has two girls and the grandson, there is another family that had a boy that was sent away.............................

Your so right

What is your problem? I ahve a father who gets emotional at times and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong that. Men ARE aloud to cry you know and men ARE aloud to be emotional and all that goes with it..............................The family is doing quite well and maybe after the show has aired, you will see that for your self...................................................................................It really goes to show that marriages, regardless of the sitaution CAN work if the two involved would be willing to to do the work, get involoved and work together......................Divorce is a cop out for most couples and Marty and Erin has shown America that divorce is not always the answer and that where ther is a will, there is a way. I say Kudos to the family and all others other like them and a big thank you to Dr. Phil, you are awesome.
My husband is "all man"!  and he cries.  He cried  at our wedding, he cried when our daughter was born.  I would MUCH rather live with someone who is not afraid to show their emotions than someone who thinks they are too macho for such a human display.

Problems will arise again...

What happens when her kid has to go to kindergarden?? she can't simultaneously work and deal with getting him to and from school, especially being in law enforcement; how much will she be able to be around and who will be helping her with things? she mentioned that she sees herself getting married and dr phil looked at her like she's crazy if she gets married soon. well, us women get scared when we're faced with the idea of how are we supposed to work and have our kid(s) in school with no help, it's either one choice of working and supporting your kid or getting with someone so you can simply do it when you got nobody else to do it. dr phil making her go to college was a waste if she don't got people willing to help with the boy when it's schooltime, because she won't be able to do both unless she got help. what choice? is my question. there is none when her boy has to attend school if she's solely responsible while everyone else works and is uncompromising to their lifestyles. i had nobody to help me, lots of women are like us who have kids young, and we get married and give up our dreams because the rest of the world don't care and offer help.

Great truck

Quote From: azn1012

let's give alex a Chevy Silverado! oh yeah because mother earth can afford to have her drive around that monstrosity. dr. phil, it would have been much more bennificial to the planet had you gotten her a hybrid car, not to mention they're way better looking. thanks for helping kill the planet, my kids appricate it.

You sound way too bitter and angry to be an earth mother! lol. If you were that concerned about the planet then you wouldn't have had children - it's over population that is killing the earth.

I thought the truck was great and really practical as Alex lives on a farm.

Nice wheels Alex!!

what a great update

I must say I was very skeptical about this family. I am so relieved to hear that they are doing well and that marty has been able to keep his family together. THAT is something to be proud of! It takes an extraordinary man to do the tough work what Marty did.

Alex and Katherine are adorable. They really have come into their own. They too should be proud. I'd love to hear more from Erin.

I wish my family had the courage to do what this family did.
