Whenever Dr. Phil walks down the street, people ask: “What’s going on with Marty, Erin, Alex and Katherine?” This divided family first came on the show when their 15-year-old daughter, Alex, was pregnant and her condition was ripping their lives apart. I don't think it will be much of a "secret"

I have a feeling that Alex's "secret" is just a teaser. I notice that this show uses a lot of teasers, and sometimes they're misleading. Last time the teaser was "Could Alex be facing a new problem?" The "problem" turned out to be something about Alex feeling like Erin was spoiling Nathan and undermining Alex's discipline- and both Alex and Erin were laughing about it. Not exactly a big problem! Typical grandma/mom stuff. What she said was, she would tell Nathan "no" and then when he cried, Erin would step in and try to comfort him with "oh, it's OK honey, don't cry" or something along those lines. So I'm not expecting a bombshell. I have a feeling if everything wasn't going more or less well, the trailer wouldn't have been so upbeat.

Dr. Phil family and the cutie

Seeing the preview made me think just one thing. Nathan is soooooo ADORABLE! What a cutie! I can't wait to see the show and see how the family has progressed. That little boy is going to be a heartbreaker. He's the second cutest toddler boy in the world (MY son being the first, of course!)

If your life was splashed on national TV and people were coming up to YOU and telling you how unfit a mother you were based solely on what they saw in 45 minutes of Dr. Phil, you'd have to have a tough skin and take that attitude. What if lots of people suddenly started coming up to you and said, "Wow, you're OLD!" or something worse? After a while, wouldn't it take a toll? I think you are misjudging her just like thousands of other busybodies have done. I wouldn't care what YOU thought of me, so throw down your stones. Like Alex, I could give a crap less.

As for Katherine, she has shown a fortitude that is unmatched. Yes, sometimes the prettier and more popular sibling gets lots of attention. That happened to me; my brother was handsome and popular, and I was lucky if I got any clothes off the clearance rack each year because we had to buy him the best money could buy. Heck, I was lucky if my clothes came from a store other than Goodwill or Salvation Army because my brother needed a new pair of 100-dollar shoes (this was the eighties; that was expensive). Sometimes the adversities you face when you are young strengthen you far more for the real world. The favored one often gets left behind, waiting for somebody to pave the way for them. My brother is now a glorified janitor who gets his bills paid by his mother-in-law. I have a wonderful husband, a loving family, and I treat all my kids EQUALLY. I learned a lot of hard lessons thanks to my upbringing. I suspect Katherine will do the same. I wish Alex and Katherine EQUAL felicity in their lives. And I hope nosy gossips can remember that they are living in glass houses!

I am optimistic that Alex has grown up and that everything is A-OK. I fell in love with this family when they first came on. I too, was pregnant along w/ Alex. I always thought they seemed like a family with hope. Even though they had their problems, it seemed as if they would be able to eventually work through them. I think we should give them the benefit of the doubt and stop jumping to conclusions that Alex has screwed up again or that things are falling apart. Just because people make mistakes doesn't mean they continue to make them...some people do learn from their mistakes and grow up. Although, if you ask me, Nathan is a blessing, not a mistake!

I think you have it right. I noticed the same things during the first airing of this family. It worked....I kept watching.

Wow now there was a family in crisis. As defiant as Stacy was to DrP I doubt we will see any updates on them. My bet would be that there was no happy ending and they aren't even together any more. I would like to know what happened with her son who DrP placed in that school in Texas. I hope they were able to help him and not send him back to a toxic environment. Remember Stacy had another baby during this segment? I hope they are taking good care of their children. I doubt Stacy would ever put herself before the cameras again as I think her motives before were to show what a bad husband Chris was but it backfired and her and she was exposed for the bad mother and wife she was and could still be.

I'm so excited!

I'm so excited.I've been waiting on this for quite a while.What made me the most furious about this story was the fact that instead of helping Alex Erin sent her away. That made me so mad. The last thing a preg girl needs is for her parents to toss her aside like she don't she matter.Dr.Phil is doing a good thing by having them back. I think he needs to track The other Dr.Phil family as well. I would really like to know what happened them. Its kinda nice to know what happened to the families on the show!

More interesting familys then this one

I have seen all the shows and I have also seen more interesting family's that I would like an update on. What about the family confronting the brother who molested them? What about the women who's husband stole her children and the friend was in contact with him?? I know all I need to know about this family. They are not in that dyer of a situation then others on this show.

While I agree that there maybe other families who could use the time for DrP's help, this family was very popular with viewers and my guess is they are doing well and agreed to be on the show again while the other families that have been mentioned received alot of negative comments from viewers and probably don't want to expose themselves again. I believe you are talking about Maakai that molested his sister, that caused such a stir with viewers and so many people wanting him in jail, and I have to wonder if sexual predators really do change, so the update may not be such a happy one. Not many people would agree to come back and say they are no better off than when they started. I was glad to see today's show with Brandon admitting his relapse but still having hope to overcome his addiction.

wondering about the missing Erin

I watched the show today and wondered why Erin wasn't interviewed. I understand that she may have not been able to get away to be on the show but in all of the interviews, she never spoke. They did show her face two or three times but never spoke to her personally. I just would have like to have heard her perspective on how the family is doing.
