Whenever Dr. Phil walks down the street, people ask: “What’s going on with Marty, Erin, Alex and Katherine?” This divided family first came on the show when their 15-year-old daughter, Alex, was pregnant and her condition was ripping their lives apart. Alex has accomplished a lot in three years. Get an update on her son, Nathan. Plus, Alex’s younger sister, Katherine, felt anger and resentment about the pregnancy and the constant chaos in her parents’ marriage. Find out how she’s been coping, and hear the burning question Marty has for Dr. Phil. Then, see the amazing surprises in store for this family! And, Dr. Phil follows up with another unforgettable guest, April. She was the anorexic bride, whose husband ended their marriage over the phone. How is she adjusting to life as a single woman? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

Quote From: mrscoddle

Is it because she is blonde and beautiful? She and her daddy were about at the same emotional level as I recall. The younger sister took the brunt of it! I hope the parents have divorced. I have no right to judge, and I'm hoping the baby is OK. PLEASE, God, don't let Alex say she has dropped out of school and is pregnant again! The photo they are posting of her for Thursday's show makes her look so SMUG I could just SCREAM! I DO care what people think about me, and I'm FIFTY! I especially care what my ten-year-old daughter thinks of me, as I am a role model for her. Listen up, Alex, you are a ROLE MODEL for your son, as young as he is, so I hope your "secret" is a positive one.

WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?  CAN'T YOU BE HAPPY THAT ALEX AND HER FAMILY ARE OKAY?

MAYBE YOURS IS TOO MESSED UP AND YOU ARE JEALOUS?  WELL DR PHIL MIGHT COULD HELP YOU BUT AS HE WOULD SAY YOU HAVE TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND OWN IT!

I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO BE SO NEGATIVE TO SUCH A WONDER YOUNG LADY!

i see from the previews that the family is returning and Marty is crying again like a little sucky baby.
GROW UP Marty and be a man for once
What is your problem? I ahve a father who gets emotional at times and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong that. Men ARE aloud to cry you know and men ARE aloud to be emotional and all that goes with it..............................The family is doing quite well and maybe after the show has aired, you will see that for your self...................................................................................It really goes to show that marriages, regardless of the sitaution CAN work if the two involved would be willing to to do the work, get involoved and work together......................Divorce is a cop out for most couples and Marty and Erin has shown America that divorce is not always the answer and that where ther is a will, there is a way. I say Kudos to the family and all others other like them and a big thank you to Dr. Phil, you are awesome.

could'nt stop crying

How nice of Dr. Phil to help Marty resolve some of his issues with his mother by flying him out to see her before her death.  When he presented Katherinie with the saddle, I was smiling ear to ear. However, when he gave Alex keys to that huge Chevy truck, I couldn't stop crying.  Dr. Phil never ceases to amaze me with his kindness.  This family has really come a long way and I'm sorry Erin wasn't on the show with the rest of the family.  I do hope all is well with her and that some of her pain has healed and she is happy.  I love follow up shows- whether the outcome is good or bad.

What happened to the boy

I was very surprised that they did not mention the boy today.  What ever happened to him?  It feels like the Grandson has taken his place.  Maybe it is a good idea he is not living at home?  The girls seem to have gotten spoiled by both parents and Dr. Phil and the boy was just thrown away it seems?

WHAT??????

Quote From: mooyoo

The previews for this  Dr. Phil Family update makes it seem as if Alex is still the ungrateful, know-it-all, do what she wants brat that she was three years ago.  I will be shocked if Alex is really the one raising Nathan. I don't believe Alex has grown up or learned anything "worthwhile" from what she has done. And if learning how not to get pregnant again is the best she can do instead of learning self control, then she really hasn't learned much.

I guess we'll see when the show airs. Maybe I'll be eating my words.

YOU'VE GOT TO BE JOKING?  WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR PROBLEM...YOU MUST THING BECAUSE SHE IS A TEENAGE MOTHER THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS TAKING CARE OF HER CHILD, WHY?  I THINK YOU JUDGE PEOPLE AND SPEAK BEFORE YOU EVEN KNOW.

IT CAN BE DONE..GO TO SCHOOL,WORK AND RAISE A  CHILD EVEN IF YOU ARE A TEENAGER...I DID IT AND I BELIEVE ALEX CAN TO.  I AM SORRY FOR YOU THAT YOU HAVE NO FAITH IN HER BECAUSE SHE IS A TEENAGER.

Quote From: flthomcat

Thank you for your selfless act. You did what many more young women should do...you put the welfare of your child first. God bless you.

I had hoped Alex would give her son up for adoption due to not necessarily her young age and the fact that the baby's father was just as young, but because this famiy was so messed up.

However, with Dr. Phil's help, the family got the help it DESPERATELY needed and I believe Alex and Nathan have a chance for a very good life.

Thank you again for caring about your son. You did a very noble thing.

You are very courageous.  I am adopted and so very thankful for the family I wouldn't have otherwise had.  Thank goodness there are selfless people like you in this world.

negative comments toward Alex's Family

Quote From: happypilot

Your post is very negative and just makes you sound jealous of youth and good looks.
I think that you are very negative about the situation and that you sound like you are very jealous of the fact that this family worked hard to overcome a situation and make their lives better and brought everyone in the family closer just the way that a family should be.  We all should be very proud of what Alex has accomplished in her life and standing up and being responsible as a parent should be and not just give up on her parents, her family , her baby, and her own life. I think that this whole family deserves all the happiness in the world and there are still going to be rough spotts ahead but with some hard work and compassion for each other  i know in my heart that this family can pull together , stay happy  and work through anything that life throws at them especially little miss Katherine, she's coming into her own and growing up and becoming more and more of a young  beautiful woman and i know that Marty and Erin are very pround of both of their beautiful young daughters. Cheerish everyday that they are on this earth, for they are your little girls, like i said cheerish every moment  and every day that you have with them.

Me Too

Quote From: joy_slaven

I watched the show today and wondered why Erin wasn't interviewed.  I understand that she may have not been able to get away to be on the show but in all of the interviews, she never spoke.  They did show her face two or three times but never spoke to her personally.  I just would have like to have heard her perspective on how the family is doing.
Ditto.

Quote From: bzbluiii

Wow now there was a family in crisis.  As defiant as Stacy was to DrP I doubt we will see any updates on them.  My bet would be that there was no happy ending and they aren't even together any more.  I would like to know what happened with her son who DrP placed in that school in Texas.  I hope they were able to help him and not send him back to a toxic environment.  Remember Stacy had another baby during this segment?  I hope they are taking good care of their children.  I doubt Stacy would ever put herself before the cameras again as I think her motives before were to show what a bad husband Chris was but it backfired and her and she was exposed for the bad mother and wife she was and could still be.

I would also love to see what has happened with Chris and Stacy.  Please, Dr. Phil, let us know what has happened to this family.   Stacy's oldest daughter was so sweet - my heart just ached for her.  She had the morals her mother couldn't seem to muster.  The poor son had so much to deal with - he just needed a stable home life.  It's such a shame that he had to be sent away to learn what he should have been able to learn at home...structure, discipline not to mention love and affection.  Where are they now?

Congratulations

I have read many negative posts.  Even after having seen the show, people are still posting negative thoughts.  I think we should all stop trying to make something out of Erin not being on the show.  We should all be happy that everything has turned out so good for this family.  The are all well educated, well versed people.  They have been through a lot and have prevailed and they need to be given the respect that they deserve.  Nathan is obviously a very happy, very healthy little boy and it seems as if Alex is doing a wonderful job juggling school and motherhood.  Katherine is very strong and has matured into a lovely young woman.  Congratulations to the entire family...and Thank You Dr. Phil for giving them the help they so obviously needed.

Alex...a note of encouragement...I too am a single mother.  I know how hard it is to juggle school and a toddler.  Be blessed that you have your parents there to help and support you.  Take advantage of the time you have them.  Use them wisely and get through your education.  Keep your head up and plow staright ahead.  You will be fine and there is nothing greater than Nathan's love.  Good luck to you and your family.
