Whenever Dr. Phil walks down the street, people ask: “What’s going on with Marty, Erin, Alex and Katherine?” This divided family first came on the show when their 15-year-old daughter, Alex, was pregnant and her condition was ripping their lives apart. Alex has accomplished a lot in three years. Get an update on her son, Nathan. Plus, Alex’s younger sister, Katherine, felt anger and resentment about the pregnancy and the constant chaos in her parents’ marriage. Find out how she’s been coping, and hear the burning question Marty has for Dr. Phil. Then, see the amazing surprises in store for this family! And, Dr. Phil follows up with another unforgettable guest, April. She was the anorexic bride, whose husband ended their marriage over the phone. How is she adjusting to life as a single woman? Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

hi, i don't think those girls needed those special gifts. so they think they hav a bad life. as you mentioned they didn't look like they were going without. how about other ppl who have it real bad. things could be worse. the girls maynot hav a mom. if i ever called my mom by her name i'd be picking my teeth up w/a broken arm. as of a month ago i don't have a mom. my life and my daughter's are really suckin. the opera and phil show give gifts like there's no 2morrow . like weddings, baby showers. ya they are important shows. at least that's what ive been told. dr.phil you don't need 2 give gifts cuz they come on your show. the girls were pathetic. there lives could be worse.
Hey...you know staving refuges in Sudan have a worse life than you do. So...maybe you shouldn't ever get a special suprise in your life, because hell, SOMEONE has a worse life than YOU!

Hey, lady

Quote From: momisme2

Im surprised reading some of the posters opinions on where Erin is and what that might mean.  Everyone seems to go right to the negative.  If I was Erin I think I would have had just about enough of throwing my life in front of milions of viewers only to take a beating week after week.   ( I threw a few punshes of my own at the very begining of this series)  I bet she is just bloody tired of having her life aired in front of millions of viewers and is taking a breather.  Dont blame her a bit!

I was happy to see Alex be given the truck!   Yes, it is a gas guzzling non hybrid which will be more expensive for her to fuel as well as it doesent help Mother Earth.  All the following points I agree with and give to the unhappy(least about the truck)posters.  Still... when she screamed the way she did and seeing her so excited made me very happy for that girl.  Was smiling and clapping to see her receive that wished for truck!  Yay for her!  :D

Im also happy to see Kat smiling and looking happy and so much more grown up.  I was glad she was given that expensive saddle,  too!  No, she doesent need such a saddle, but how often in life do we get the opportunity to receive gifts of such generosity?  VERY HAPPY Dr. Phil is as generous and kind as he is to lavish these girls with such wonderful presents.  Its quite true he has helped the family very much but I would dare say that they have in turn helped his show as well.  I remember the boards flying week after week with discussions of this family.  They really brought in the viewers and I would think Dr. Phil is well aware of that.  So in my personal opinion, they deserve to be given the gifts they recieved and I was happy to watch it!  :D

CONGRATULATIONS to all of the family members!  You have worked hard and done well.  Excellent job to ALL of you!

Somehow I knew you would be on this board.  Nice to see you again.  As usual, good post and I agree.  What is with all this fuss over who gets more?  That seems rather immature to even question whether one got more than the other.  Gifts are given by the giver and not to be questioned by the receiver.  They're both lucky to have received all the help for their family and the things along the way. Both those girls are beautiful and seem to have lots of spunk and it was fun to see their faces light up with the gifts.    As far as Erin, I just can't imagine why there wasn't a taped video or something at least to thank DrP for all he has done.  Something about that doesn't ring true.  Not that I think Marty and the girls would not tell the truth about how things are going, but I am hoping that Erin is not going thru a bad time.  Maybe she was just exhausted and enjoying her time alone in the house, we can all relate to that.

Where was Erin?

I enjoyed today's show,it was nice to see this family again. They did seem happy. It is quite obvious that Marty and Erin are separated or even divorced,if not she would have been part of the show in some way.It is my belief that she made it imperative to Dr Phil that she wasn't to be included but was fine if the rest of the family was and that the circumstances of her situation was not to be discussed.I commend her for any decision she has made!Marty only said he gets along fine with Erin but that doesn't mean they are living together. The above is just my opinion.Annie

I had a baby at 15, and nobody did any of this for me.  My help came from my parents.  I got a part time job and worked and went to school during the day and at night, so I could graduate a year early.  Being a single teenage mom is difficult because of people like you who don't have a clue what you're talking about and want to look down on us.  I say good job Alex!  I am now 25, my oldest son is 10, and I am married with three more children.  You can achieve your dreams!

AMEN SISTER!!!!

I'm so happy, I'm so happy, I'm so happy, forever ad infinitum today!

Usually TV makes me mad, angry....I could just throw a brick through it.  But I watched the amazing race last night and my boys won (the ones I wanted to win, that is).  I was SO glad they won!

Now I am so happy today.  The tears just got more and more with every exultation from Alex.  God bless Dr. Phil for giving her that truck.  That was so awesome.  It's so nice to see hard work get rewarded!  I LOVE YOU, DR. PHIL....you rock!!!

Oh.........and thanks Chevy trucks, too!

I know what you mean. These shows where they give people things is nice to see, it's fun and it's a nice break from watching abusers and addicts and MIL's from hell! LOL

It's nice to see this. (Even though I'm not THRILLED about the truck part....LOL...life goes on I guess.)

I thought the car comment was certainly appropriate. It was relevent to the show. Going on a little rant about deforestation, global warming, factories, and air conditioners was not. If shes using this discussion board for that, then if she doesnt live a green life I do believe shes a hypocrite.

She even pulled me in, and I was worse because I got a little political.

For that, I apologize.

I get mad about all that stuff too and my home isn't completely green. I do what I reasonably can.  I wonder if some of the posts were removed because I can't seem to find the origin of this debate...maybe I have looked hard enough.

But I get mad about those trucks, and I drive a regular car....BUT I only use it once or twice a week. I get mad about air conditioners and and energy conservation but I use lights and I keep my house cool....BUT my apartment complex has meters on airconditioners that reduce energy use in the heat of the day AND I use candles in the evening a lot now.

Judy might do these things too....you never know.

Where was Erin????

Where was Erin?  Dr. Phil said briefly that she was holding down the fort.  What does that mean?  Are they still together?  And what was the big secret Alex told only Dr. Phil?  I watched the entire show and I did not see it.

Its good to see you too!  :D  Hope you have been well!

I think alot of people feel that children should be given equal gifts.  While I agree with that in theory, I have yet to see this ever work out the way intended.  There seems to always come a time when one child is in need of something more expensive then the other.  As long as it evens out in the end, and as long as your love is forever true and fair(which I cant imagine it not being when it comes to my children) then I feel it is fine to sometimes give one a more expensive thing then the other.

But... just in case some people are still a tad miffed... I remember when the doc fixed up Kats room for her and didnt give Alex anything special.  I believe he gifted Nathan a little something that time(cant quite remember) but im pretty sure Kat received a whole new bedroom but Alex didnt receive anything.  Maybe that makes everyone feel a bit better?

So good to see you again!  {{{HUGS}}}
