With the Internet right in your home, pedophiles have an easy way to make contact with your children. The only way to protect your kids from predators is to know how, when and where they operate. Dr. Phil uncovers the secret strategies of sexual predators. First, he teams up with former detective sergeant Rob Nickel to perform a serious and potentially dangerous undercover operation: to out a sexual predator working the Internet.  Follow the surprising turn of events when Dr. Phil gets the Las Vegas police involved. Then, social networking Web site MySpace.com boasts 73 million members, many of whom are kids. When a Dr. Phil producer sets up a fake MySpace account posing as a 15-year-old girl, you won’t believe the response she gets. Next, a concerned mom takes MySpace into her own hands. Learn her sneaky strategy for keeping tabs on her kids and see how far they are willing to go online. Plus, with over 750,000 predators on the Internet, wouldn't you like to know who might be living on your block, in your neighborhood, possibly even next door? Dr. Phil shows you how to find out, right from your own home.

I have to agree

Quote From: freesia83

Unfortunately, branding or using chips wouldnt be possible as that would be a violation of their rights. However, I think it is safe to say most people would agree with me when I say that once you violate another member of society in any illegal way (rape, robbery for example) you don't deserve those rights anymore.

I think once it is proven that you are even capable of doing something so filthy and evil you should no longer have the same same basic human rights as everyone else.

This is not a debt to society that can be repaid, nor is it something that they can be "cured" from.

I have a neighbor that was arrested by the FBI, after he tried to buy child pornographic images from an undercover agent.  This guy's wife never even left him, she said it was all a big misunderstanding.  This just nauseates me.

S C A R Y ! ! ! !

I am a parent with grown children, but I have great doubts that our youngest didn't participate on boards that shouldn't have.  I am often accused of being a freaked-out parent, over-protective, cuckoo for watching shows like this to stay informed.  I don't care what I'm called as I am certain we need to be aware of our ever-changing world!  Thank you, Dr. Phil, for much-needed shows like this even if they are SCARY to watch.  It's the world we live in, right (sadly!)?

You really missed the mark

I love Dr. Phil.  However, I didn't think the show today accomplished any of the goals Dr. Phil stated.  He didn't show us how to protect our children.  My son is on Myspace, which I monitor regularly.  In all the shows about it there is never a rep from Myspace or info on how to protect your profile.  First of all, you can set your profile to private so that the general masses don't have open access.  My son has never been approached by someone he did not know or a verified friend of someone he knows.  You do not have to post pictures, nor do you have to fill in all the blanks.  I have searched for my son's profile and could not get on it because I did not have the password.  When I got the password from him, I checked it out and would not have been able to locate him from his info.  Here is some info that's actually helpful.  Things not to post: name of town, name of school, full name of any friends, activities and such.  Keep things general.  Don't post pictures that are revealing.  Use some common sense.

Gotta change the channel

This is literally making me violently ill.  I can't stand listening to this hell-bound rodent talk about what he does to these kids.  Sick, sick, sick.  Can't wait until this pervert gets the real "justice" he deserves, and it WON'T be in the U.S. justice system.  They'll smack his hand and let him go!  His day is coming, I can promise it.

just my 2 cents!

This might sound sortof *Stone Age* for some of you but you can look up a person's profile just by putting the name in a search.. the real persons name. But you have to run the right search.

My oldest is on there,. she is 18 and knows all there is to know,.. I don't have any personal problems with it. My youngest daughter, will be 14 next week and she is on Zanga and a couple other sites and I am able to get on all of them,. plus she and I will hang out and she will share her site and comments and stuff with me. I am so grateful we are so very close.

Then there are people/kids like her cousins,.. I feel so badly for these children. Now that my youngest isn't a baby anymore, I ache for all the horrible things they have to deal with going through the HS/College years!..

Ok, off my Soapbox or else I will be here forever!..

the new gal..

Ashley - Our stories are identical.....

I sat in awe as I listened to Ashley's story and wondered if I was somehow watching myself.  It was uncanny the similarities.  I too molested by a preacher, respected man of God, charasmatic, noted I was skinny, ect.  I reported Him 5 years later too and he plea bargained and walked away with a mistameaner charge and is preaching still today.....uncanny similarities.  Could it be one in the same man?

Your Neighborhood

Our neighborhood uses a web site system (www.neighborsconnecting.com) to help our community stay connected. This site is Free and has www.familywatchdog.us built into it. It also has a Crime Prevention tool that your local law enforcement can post missing children, wanted people, news and safety tips. We have 400 residents in our neighborhood with over 390 of them using our web site.

Ashley - Our stories are identical

I'm not sure I'm doing this right?  I've never responded to a message board before, but I was so struck by Ashley's story.  I thought I was watching myself.  Could our offenders be one in the same man?
