The beach, bathing suits and vowing to get in shape -- all signs summer is approaching. Dr. Phil's guests are trying to overcome the roadblocks that keep them from their best bikini bodies. Helen hasn't worn a bathing suit since she was 12. Dr. Phil cameras follow her as she tries on bathing suits for the first time in 30 years. Hear from other women who also have issues wearing swimsuits. Next, Julie has lost 165 pounds, but her husband, Kelly, says she's not skinny enough, and he would be embarrassed if she wore a bathing suit. Kelly says he needs Julie to weigh 150 pounds. Can this marriage survive Kelly's demands? Then, Melissa is getting married in October, so she challenged her sister, Kim, to a friendly weight loss competition, but it's turned into a fierce battle. Both girls will stop at nothing to win. See the antics they use to one-up each other and sabotage each other's efforts. And, Ed wants to be a trophy husband in time for his anniversary this summer. Can he learn to say no to the foods that call his name and tempt his tummy? Plus, big surprises for the guests and audience. Find out how you can get in on the action. If you need to shed some winter weight and slim down before stepping on the beach, this show is for you! Talk about the show here.

I agree, he will always have issues with her.  Dr Phil has expressed enough times,  critical people are never happy with who they are, this man needs help FAST.   She needs to dump the looser, lover herself and then drop the weight.

She can lose a quick  200 or so lbs. Just lose the Idiot!!

The Summer Dread........Swim Suits!!!

Well I know what it is like to try loose weight. I use to have a body to die for but now I hate seeing myself in a swim suit. I gained most of this weight when I got pregnant with my little girl. I put on 72lbs when I was pregnant with her. I went from being 145 to 216. Then about two weeks later I went up to 236. I have tried and tried with many different weight loss programs. I lost only 7lbs. with one of them and kept it off. This past summer I lost 15lbs. without trying to do anything about it. I was just tired of pushing and pushing and never getting any results. I was starting to get back in the groove of loosing weight and now I have been shut down. I am so depressed now because my doctor recently diagnosed me with high blood pressure, anxiety problems, and is trying to find out if I have a thyroid disorder. She has completely said that I am not aloud to exercise or over exert myself at all. She says that I have to wait until she finishes finding what else might be wrong with me. This really agrivates me because I want to get back to what I was before I got pregnant or at least close to it and it hasn't worked yet. The only that is good about me being big though is that my husband has told me that he will love my no matter what I look like because he says that I will always be beautiful. This is a great thing to know and it would be a great thing for any woman should know.

It's my body

I feel for Julie and I really do not see anything in Kelly so why does he have the right to complain and criticize her.  I happen to be in a relationship that is simular but I have only been dating him for a year and a half.  He feels that there is a perfect woman out there.  She must have the perfect hair, makeup and body exactly how he wants it.  Well I'm to the point now that no matter what I do he never notices, so I'm ready to say goodbye.  I really think he has deep dark secrets about his life and he takes it out on whom ever is closest.  I won't be close for much longer because at age 47 I feel I look pretty good and I know that I need to tone up in a few areas.  I have tried several diets, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystems, Weight Watchers and many more.  I feel the woman really has more on their plates with the home, kids, work, etc. so the stress alone never stops.  I have recently changed my job and have elimanated the stress but I really believe that I need to change my personal relationship.  That may save me completely.  Dr. Phil I have been totally thrilled with my new job that I can watch you Mondays and Fridays.  I thank you for all the people you ahve helped.  lb

Congratulations Julie, but loose the husband!

Julie, I congratulate you on losing your weight since Kelly won't give you credit for what you have accomplished already.  But please, as I sat there watching the show has Kelly ever been shown or reminded of his flaws?  Is he so perfect, I don't think so, because I saw an average looking person, and if he truly did care for his wife he would not belittle her.  Dr. Phil should have given Kelly a mirror to look at himself, because he is no "greek god", the guy wears glasses, has grey hair and he did not look like he was in great shape either.

Julie, do yourself a favor - lose your husband and don't worry about the other 25 pounds!

Totally agree

Julie I think you are doing a good job losing your weight.  Tell your husband to lay off of you, better yet you should tell him to get lost.  You don't need him, you can find better, why stay with a man who will give you verbal abuse about you not being 150 lbs.  He isn't  "Mr. Perfect", and you should not stand for that kind of treatment, no one should.  Good luck on losing to the weight you feel

comfortable with.

I totally agree. My first husband was always on my case about my weight. Especially when he saw I was trying to lose weight and then he would sabotage me by buying foods that were not on my diet plan. I got a D-I-V-O-R-C-E! and lost 225 lbs the first day and then after that the weight seemed to melt off. LOL

It is our choice

I am a 31 year old mother of two. I am  getting married on June 3rd to the most wonderful man in the world. He has told me time and time again that it is not whats on the outside, its the inside and how I treat him and make him feel that matters. I am certainly marrying the man of so many womens dreams LOL...but he is very special to me, and he is physcially attracted to me and makes me feel wonderful even thou I am 100 pounds over weight. I think that this relationship with him has got me off line with the reason i have to lose the weight, I have an incurable kidney disease. It would improve as with my blood pressure if I could lose the wieght but I have no ambition or will power when it comes to certains things. I have tried many diets and have given up on them. I have tried the buddy system and it doesnt work either. But in contrast to men and women and their bodies. All women are beautiful and men should not be so cosmetic as to wish we all looked like super models. When men pick on us about our weight and looks it is usually because they dont feel good about something with them. I think the outside is the shell and the inside is the only thing that matters. Dont ever do something to make someone else happy, make sure you think of number one first. You cant love anyone else if you cant love yourself first.

HAS THIS MAN LOOKED AT HIMSELF IN THE MIRROR?  A LITTLE PLASTIC SURGERY WOULD GO ALONG WAY WITH HIM ALSO---HOW ARROGANT !!!!!  IF HE WANTED TO JUST MARRY A BODY THERE ARE PLENTY OF SKINNY WOMEN OUT THERE THAT "MIGHT" MARRY HIM---SHE NEEDS AN OVERHALL OF HER SELF ESTEEM ---AND THEN DUMP THIS PHONY WHEN SHE GETS THE WEIGHT OFF---
THIS GUY PISSED ME OFF ROYALLY!!!!  I AGREE...WHAT DOES HE THINK HE IS...A HUNK?  HIS WIFE IS VERY PRETTY...and WHEN SHE FINALLY FEELS COMFORTABLE WITH HERSELF...I HOPE SHE GIVES HIM BACK SOME OF THE TORTURE THAT HE HAS HAD HER ENDURE FOR ALL OF THESE YEARS!  WHAT A JERK!!  WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF HE MARRIED A BEAUTIFUL SKINNY SEXY WIFE FROM THE START AND SHE GOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND LOST HER LEG....WOULD HE MAKE HER GROW A NEW ONE?  COME ON KELLY....STOP BEING SUCH AN ASS.  AND HERE'S A TIP...DON'T MARRY ON PROMISES...MARRY ON LOVE AND RESPECT FOR THE OTHER PERSON!!  THIS GUY NEEDS TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR.
