Lazy girl!

This lazy, fat girl who does nothing all day should be thrown out on her butt.  What does this mother think she is doing to help her?  She is not a child; she is a grown woman who should be either going to college or have a job, or both.  I would feel like she was in the house because of her weight, but she seems like she is a very devious person.  She acts like her family is priveleged to have her big butt in the house.  I would kick her out in a New York minute.  What is her mother thinking?  She is as sick as her daughter.  She is more than able to live on her own. Maybe if she did, she would get a job and lose the weight.  I think Dr. Phil went too much out of his way for this woman.  A gym membership? A personal trainer?  Do you really think she has that much energy?   Let's save that for someone who honestly has a problem.  She doesn't need a gym membership, she needs to get off her butt and have a life.  I don't agree Dr. Phil.  I hope I am wrong, but I don't see her using your money wisely.  She will probably cash in the membership and use it for ebay.

My Thoughts on Tats

I am 33 yrs old and have 4 children.  In my younger years I was a little on the wild side and got 2 tats, and I would like to get just a couple more.  However, I didn't think ahead to good on one of the tats.  One is a rose on my ankle with a heart through the stem, small and dainty.  I really love this tat.  However, the 2nd tat NOW I completely regret.  Let me first say I believe in God and Heaven above, with that said I'll explain the tat.  It is on my breast (big mistake), and it is a little devil holding a pitch fork, with cowboy boots on.  When I got it I was not thinking clearly.  I used to say this tat symbols my husband, and no matter where I am I'll always have that little devil with me.  Now several children later, and in the heat of the summer, I am embarrassed to wear a bathing suit, or a tank top.  My kids all know I have the tats and they don't think dirty of me.  But I have explained to my older 3 children in depth......if ever you want a tat, please strongly consider what tat you'll get and where you'll get it. And come to me and be open before you get inked for life.

Are you kidding?!?

I am completely offended. Iam a 30 year old mother of soon to be three children. I have 5 tatts and counting, in fact my mother, father and both of my sisters have tatts. To sit here and listen to this mother judge her own daughter angers me.

You can't judge someone on their looks or what they have done to their bodies, I think we as people judge to quickly and look at a persons outside rather than the inside.

Oh I also ride a Harley Davidson are you going to judge me for that too?

Not pretty

Quote From: ltesner

I am a 40 yr old with 6 tattoos and more soon I hope. Where is all the negativity coming from anyway? My family is fine with my tattoos, in fact some of my family members followed suit and got their own! I am pleasantly surprised that my views are so far not in the minority. Tattoos that are performed legally, safely and correctly are simply an expression of one's individuality. I obtained mine knowing full well that they would always be with me and still have no regrets. Maybe Dr. Phil should dedicate a show to those who like tattoos?! If it ever happens count me in!!
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but this art on your upper arm is not really attractive.  Your face is pretty, but that tatoo takes away from anything you have.  The minute I saw your picture, that is all I saw.  Heaven knows my opinion is not important, but why do you need to act like a 15 year-old?  Something you might feel good about now might not be such a good thing later.  We have a set of friends who have a son who is tatooed up and down his whole body.  I do not dislike him.  He is a great person, but why he wanted to do that to his body is beyond me.  I am not old fashioned, but please do not tell me that this could not harm your body.  People who do these things are thought of to be a lower class of people than others.  And how do you know this place was clean?  You are taking a big risk doing this expression of individuality.

I agree!

Quote From: noseybarb

Tattoos have always grossed me out. One of these day there will be a lot of grandmas out there making plastic surgeons rich. If you are ever is doubt of what to do when you grow up, learn laser surgery for tattoos. You will make a killing
I agree with you.  Plastic surgery will be the doctor of the future as far as getting rich.  Don't you wonder why only sailors had them in the past?  I think there is a reason for that.

NOT a FREAK !!!

I happen to be a 48 year old professional woman - an accountant, working in a large, world wide corporation and I totall felt sick to my stomach and disgusted as people with body art being referred to a "freaks"  - I am not a freak, I am not a bad member of society, I am a grown woman who chose to express myself with body art.  I have some that are visible when I wear my dresseds to work and I have some that are hidden just due to the fact that they are on my stomach and other areas.

I always find it a total mind blowing concept that people people have such strong opinions on what OTHER people do with their bodies, coming up to us and saying how could you DO that to your body ?  That is nasty!!!  Yet, you dont see me going up to a non tattooed person saying You are nasty because you DONT have tattoos!

Disgusting the way that society and people cant get to know the person being the art.  My tattoos all have meanings - one that I got for a 2 year sobriety mark with the AA symbol, and some  were just designs that I liked and had custom made by me and taken to the artist to put on my body.

We dont tolerate bigotry of people of other faiths or color, so why is it ok to tolerate the bigotry of those of us that choose to put art on their body?  Simple here - dont like it - dont look and CERTAINLY dont comment on it negatively.  And not to the persons face wither, unless you are willing to hear a lecture on predjudice and be told that you are a total bigot.

Funny, but I have had people from the age of 20 up to 80 tell me they LOVE my butterfly on my foot  and the other ones that are visible.  Takes all kinds.  But I am DEFINTELY not a freak - I am a christian, an educated woman who owns her own home and drives a nice car and dresses very nicely  - a lovng mother of 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren.  I dont drink, I dont do drugs.   I simply live my life the way I want to and not the way society thinks I should

05/29 Parenting Dilemmas

Quote From: dadathome

Tattoos are simply a way of drawing attention to yourself for the WRONG reason. Just like nose and tongue piercing, purple hair, Goth clothing, etc.

If you are in such desperate need of attention then why not get an education and do something positive in life. The Goth lifestyle is for depressed, losers in life.

Sorry but as a beautiful woman I got all the attention I wanted or needed BEFORE I got any body art and now I still get it - good or bad.  What do you think ? That we walk up to people saying LOOK  what I have done - and pull up our shirts or pull our jeans down to show and get attention ?  I didnt do it for attention or NON attention, I did it for one simple reason - " my body, my choice"

Quote From: ladybug11

tattoos are just nasty on people makes them look so  ugly  and not sexy  at all

It is your own opinion! My ex-girlfriend has two(2) tattoo's and i always found them to look very good on her. They are in areas where only others can see when she wears her shorts and bikini.

You are obviously entitled to your own opinion, but to make such a bold statement as to say that tattoo's make the person ugly, is just wrong!!

A proper tattoo ( being one (1) that suits the person) and being in the right place, is always very sexy!!

I know that the ex's always looked awesome too me and i kept telling her that they looked great.

  Thats my opinion

Oh and thanks anyway, but I already am college educated and I already DO good things with my life not to mention working on my next degree and PHD.

So much for myth busters.

Arguing Triplets

Dear Dr. Phil....I'm a mom of 6 girls--ages 16, 18, 20, 22, 35, and 37. :)  I used something that I called "Days to Choose" with the girls.  When I had just the older girls, daughter number one had her day to choose on odd numbered days, girl number 2 on even numbered days.  The rule was this:  on any decision that caused friction, the girl "whose day it was to choose" got to make the choice.....all day long.  When the younger four came along (I pretty much raised 2 families), because of a certain point that always caused conflicts, I remembered my "days to choose" and set up 24 cards (every possible combination of 4 girls).  I know it sounds cumbersome, but it wasn't....only took a little time at first.  It saved MILLIONS of arguments over the years.  The rule for these girls was the same....only, of course it continued to second, third, and fourth choice.  I kept the current card on the fridge with a magnet.  The only thing that was CERTAIN about the rotation was:  if you are last to choose today, you will absolutely be first to choose tomorrow.  :)  Therefore, you may be 2nd to choose two days in a row, or 3rd to choose.  If you were last, however, you KNEW that tomorrow was YOUR day to be first.  I tried always to keep this to happy choices...for instance I avoided, "You're first today, so you take your bath first."  Instead it would be, "You are first today, would you like to take your bath first?"...and so on down the line.  With only 3 children, the mother of triplets would have only 6 possible combinations.  I needed to have every possible combination because some of the circumstances that came up involved who did what with whom.  With four girls they would have their "favorite sister" (which varied and rotated). One girl could sometimes be "out".  With "days to choose", I was able to keep that under control in anything in which I was involved. :)  Perhaps this mom would like to try it.....fighting over the color you get in a game?....."Whose day is it to choose?"  .....With consistency, it's AMAZING how that was never questioned.  Also....one girl was never allowed to make a comment, sad face, sigh, etc. about her sister's choice.  Some were so soft hearted they would have given in every time to a stronger willed sister.  It took a liitle work, but was worth every second because of the lack of frustrating fights.  :)
