Topic : Searching for Birth Parents

Hi Kate, 

If you still live in the area have you tried looking at the local library to see if they have yearbooks that you can view to see if there is a picture of your mother?  This may be a start to at least see what she looks like, providing she went to school in that area.   

Do you know how old she was when you were born and adopted?   

Also, another option would be for you to go to the local county records office and look for marriage and divorce records for that name to see if you can possibly locate her current name or previous married name(s).  These records are public and can be viewed by anyone, but it has to be done at the actual records office.

Just wondering if anyone would have some information on searching for birth parents in Canada.  I dont have a whole lot of money to spend on this but would love to find my parents.  I am unsure of how to go about this.  If you could help me in any way that would be great! 

Hello all, My name is Harrison and I was born and raised in Hawaii and I was adopted at birth by a Hawaiian family which is kinda funny considering im white. I dont know the names of my birth parents or how to find them. I dont even have a birth certificate, at least not with my adopted name on it, and my adopted parents were just as confused as I was when I tried to get my state ID. They asked for my birth certificate which i couldnt get so I tried to search for the adoption records but they told me there was no record of my adoption!!!! So I pretty much gave up trying to find it!

 But now im 36 years old and Ive been thinking about marriage, but I need a birth certificate to get married so I cant even get married if I wanted to! I really need help from anyone that can give it and im willing to try anything!...... Heres my info: Harrison K. Kaeo, born: Dec. 14, 1969 as far as I know!,

 I was born at Kapiolani hospital, I am Caucasion with blue eyes brown hair.............Please someone help me! I want to know what my mothers face looks like and why I cant grow a damn full beard......hehe!

Those adopted or relinquished in the state of Hawaii may submit a "Request to Inspect Confidential Adoption Records" of the Family Court.

Original Birth certificate at 18 for those adopted after 1991, if no disclosure veto is on file. Post 1991 if waiver is on file, adoptees may obtain records, if not, a Confidential intermediary is assigned to obtain waiver from birth parents. If the birth parents are not found in 120 days, adoptees are granted access to records. Birth parents rules are the same, and may obtain an original birth certificate.
