Anorexia

Quote From: raven2008

I exercise 5 days a week, and I am not hungry most of the time.  On top of that I get anxious when I gain weight, and motivated when I lose it.

I am new to this site and still trying to figure things out. I am not underweight but I was told last week that im on my way to Anorexia. Im not sure how thats possible when I am stil about 40 pounds overweight. I eat between 400 ot 500 calories a day and take 4 ephedra's a day just to maintain my weight. Some days I don't eat hardly anything and some days working nights I get hungry in the middle of a shift. Any suggestions on night eating..

you can be on your way to looking anorexic but the things you do make you anorexic not your weight.  The things you are doing show that you would be anorexic and by what they are saying you are close to looking that way.  Only they probley don't know the things your doing so they would not know.  Do you wanna do this or are you asking for good food suggestions because they want you too?  Before I answer good foods or what to do if your wanting to do better i want to know who it is for.......  then if i read your question wrong and you want to know just something to eat at night that is a good food......... hmmmm.......  i'm sure that no matter what anyone said you may be like oh my i can't eat that then but lets see........  oh wait and you say your 40 pds overweight so they aren't saying you look almost ana.........  sometimes i read and my mind doesn't process what i read right or something.......  sorry about that...... still by what you do your not on your way to anorexia your already there.........  ok now hmmmm.......  carrots, celery..... i don't know...... that's hard to answer for me right now  because i am not really in recovery like i should be.......   i am applying to go somewhere for help right now........

Are you in denial?

"The Language of Letting Go" by Melody Beattie

DENIAL     7/24/06

Denial is a powerful tool. Never underestimate its ability to cloud your vision.

Be aware that, for many reasons, we have become experts at using this tool to make reality more tolerable. We have learned well how to stop the pain caused by reality - not by changing our circumstances, but by pretending our circumstances are something other than what they are.

Do not be too hard on yourself. While one part of you was busy creating a fantasy - reality, the other part went to9 work on accepting the truth.

Now, it is time to find courage. Face the truth. Let it sink gently in.

When we can do that, we will be moved forward.

God, give me the courage and strength to see clearly.

One of my daily readings. I thought it was very appropriate for some of you. Best wishes and God Bless.

My Sister

My 40 year old sister died last week from anorexia.  She is out of her pain now and we, her family who tried everything to help her, are still dealing with the pain.  I am writing this in the hope that maybe someone will think twice about what they are doing to their bodies and get help before they end up dead like my sister.  All the lying and hiding don't work --we knew what was going on more than she did because it affects your brain.  If you are doing this to yourself you are not fooling those who love and care about you, what you are doing is scaring those who will do anything to help you and feel helpless when you won't accept help.  Get help--your life is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for being so blunt. I pray that it will help others.

I'm sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.

Will it work?

This is one of my on-line diary entries:

"

For the longest time I've been eyeing different shows from Dr. Phil that are anything weight related. I wanted to take notes on it for my friend Jackie.

Tonight I just e-mailed the Dr. Phil staff about finding a way to convince my friend Jackie to go on their show. She's anorexic and there's this topic coming up called "Starving to be Thin." I really want her to go, and I've even told her about it. However, she feels that there is no hope for her! But if she goes on the show, she may realize there IS hope for her... I hope Dr. Phil can help, because right now she can't help herself, no one can. Not even I can help her anymore... and it breaks my heart. She's going to college, and I feel that's death's row calling. Please let Dr. Phil respond, God! We need some hope for her...

The last time we met she gave  me her cherished purple bunny Kurra. I almost cried infront of her when she gave me him. She said it's so I always remember her. I don't want her to die!!! If she goes, I don't want to say it, but I feel like I'd go, too... We need some help, Dr. Phil! Please help!"

Do you guys think that Dr. Phil could help my friend? Is there any way we could get her on? I told her "Think of it this way: if you go on, you can help millions of girls (and guys) who suffer from the same problem!"

Don't you think it's more important to get help before taking on a task like college?
