  • If you wish to seek and provide compassionate support to others on your weight loss journey, this is the board for you!
  • Three leaders of this board have been designated (BJ, Cathy, & Sharon) to prevent us from getting carried away with other subjects and focused on the 7 Keys.
  • Feel free to post about those positive events in your life to share with the friends here.
  • Post about those negative events that can hinder your progress and we will support you through it.
  • Please address everyone here with courtesy, dignity, and respect.  Keep in mind that we all have read Dr. Phil's book and know what must be done to lose weight, so we do not need to be told.  As Dr. Phil says, "this is not a one size fits all program".  Therefore, what work's for one person may not work for everyone.  We all have our own unique life circumstances and physical challenges that can affect results.  What is needed is the support and encouragement to do what needs to be done.
  • Opinions & suggestions are encouraged and always viewed as "Food for Thought".
  • Criticism, judgments, and ideas of dictatorship are best left outside our computer room doors.

As of January, 2009, this message board will become "Read Only" and will be closed to further posting. Please join the NEW Dr. Phil Community to continue your discussions, personalize your message board experience, start a blog and meet new friends.

I'm Back

Quote From: chimocats

Water - I do the same Cathy. I refill my 2 qt jug each night after making note of how much I drank. I was drinking it all for a long time, but have got off track the last few weeks.

Weigh-ins - I still prefer Monday weigh ins for myself b/c it keeps me more accountable on the weekend and I don't intend to change it!! Weighing before the weekend so I can indulge and then work like crazy Mon to Fri is something I used to do when "dieting" and it so unproductive for me. Everyone is different and if a different day works better for you that's fine!!

Travel - OMG wouldn't that be awesome!! I think that would be the perfect reward for reaching goal!!

Hugs

BJ

Hey, all.  Had a great Christmas with my Georgia family.  Didn't have the time that I've had in the past to play, however, the gradnkids are getting older and no longer rest or take naps.  So we had all day fun.  They couldn't let Gram alone long enough for me to do much on the computer.

I'm still with you on the goals for 2008.....I go to Weight Watchers on Tuesday, so a Monday weigh-in is good for me.  I might not get it posted until Tuesday........or I could change the routine in which I weigh myself.  I'll get it worked out.

Really proud of myself as I was in control this Christmas with regard to food.  Came home lighter than when I left.  I hope it show up on the scales at WW this afternoon.  I wasn't in control so much on Sunday, but I'm not bashing myself over the head.  I just picked myself up, renewed my resolve, and am back on track.

Also back at work and have to get moving or I'll be late leaving the house.

Sounds like you all had a wonderful Christmas and you are certainly headed in a positive mode for the New Year.

Hugs,

Anita

Happy Tuesday

Started my evening class last night and the kids come back to school today - got a couple of new students and a girl doing her internship in my class, so should be interesting.  We're also getting a bunny from a parent next week.  We'll see how that goes over.  Pretty wiped but definitely need to keep on track.  Got my cooler packed for the day and my exercise scheduled after work today.  Have a feeling I'm going to be eating lots of subway this month.

Hope you all are well.
Hugs,
Pam

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE TO ACHIEVE WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS

good morning everyone

I got up and did my toning exercise this morning.  I had a much better sleep lastnight.  All I had after supper was a cup of green tea.

We are painting dd's room so I was going through it cleaning it out.  Man, what a pack rat.  I got rid of 3 garbage bags and I haven't hit the closet yet.  So many little pieces with barbies and all that.  I can hardly wait until it is done.  It will look so good.  It kept me busy and my mind off food.

It is her birthday today so we are going out for supper.  I am planning on having a stirfry or something along that line.  It will be healthy though.

I am from Manitoba.  I can't remember who else on here is from Canada.  It is an unusually warm January for us.  It was above 0 on the weekend.

Well I better go and get ready for another day.

Have a great one.

Great organization to get your food ready to "grab and go" for the nights you will be working.  I keep saying I'll get part of my lunch ready to go the night before, but it doesn't happen.

Not much to putting baby carrots and broccoli in a bag, I guess.

Keep up the great focus and determination.

Anita

Weigh in--official one

Just a quick note to let you know I lost 2.4 pounds officially at WW over Christmas.  On my scale before food and clothes, I've lost 6 lbs.  But I don't weigh in at WW hungry and naked, thank Heavens for that!!  Everyone else might quit coming--including the leader.

I'm really proud of myself and determined to keep up the momentum and focus for 2008.  I love our motto of "Lose the weight in 2008".  When we were told we needed to re-focus ourselves, I knew that I already had--with the help of my friends here on the board.

Have a great day with lots of smiles,

Hugs,

Anita

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE TO ACHIEVE WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS

Quote From: bebren

Pam, Thanks for the link to Oklahoma City's mayor's weight loss challenge.  It is a good website with a lot of good information.  They recommend the Oklahom City YMCA as one option for exercise which is where my mom and I swim.  I am going to show my parent's the website and consider registering.  I will let you know if I do.  As you probably know,  I am already seeing a Dietian who is really helping me with my weight loss journey.  Where do you live?  Take care! :) Bren
Glad it was helpful.  I live in Georgia :)

Hugs,
Pam
