annieiam4u I am seeing purple hippopotamuses

I can't keep up with this! HA! Now the pic is back! This board is haunted. hahahaha!
I love Cathy's animated dancing dragon and hippo. Makes me want to boogie. I hope you are feeling well all things considered (life that is). I am for the most part. Planned to leave for Oklahoma this a.m. but bike I was taking to A.S. on ap needs a new tire and inner tube and I cannot find the size. His tools and guitar and many other things disappeared while he was in the hospital along with one of his roomers. Happy to say Vampire story deleted. My e-mail isn't working or I'd just e-mail. I, also, have over a hundred dollars in FREE groceries I got at Albertsons triple to 75 cent coupons. What he cannot use he usually gives to roomers. One roomer is having a manic attack like A.S. did and may move out and the other spends all day with his quadraplegic brother at the VA Center there. Injured during Vietnam War I think. Roomer having manic attack has a traumatic brain injury from an automobile accident. They all share the bikes there. A neighbor of mine was selling two English Racers for $5 each so I may go look at those as I noticed at Wal Mart that tires for those are only $9 each. Three big men riding bikes goes through seats and tires. You know it isn't that late so I think I'll walk over there now as the neighbor said I could. Take care of you and catch all the blessings prayed your way. Hugs and Prayers, Beachsmiles

Depression

Dr. Phil

I am not sure you will get this message and I will follow up by sending you an e-mail. I recently lost my teenage niece to suicide. Depression plays a key factor in this. On July 16, I took part in an incredible journey. It was called Out of the Darkness Overnight. It was a 20 mile walk from dusk to dawn to erase the stigma of suicide and make more people aware of why it happens and for people with depression to be able to get the help they need. The walk took place in Chicago, we had more then 2000 participants and raised over 1 million dollars. We will be doing another "Overnight" next year location to be determined. There were many people of all ages. Some of who still have the daily struggle with the thoughts of taking their own life, others that have tried and failed and then those of us that lost a loved one. I just wanted to make you aware of this event and maybe see it on your show one day. The website is afsp.org. I hope this will be a topic of your show one day

Thank you for making a difference

Hello Nekocats2...it's me Psychwife

This has been a very difficult time for me ..... very difficult.... I just want the world to stop spinning long enough for me to get the heck off. Don't worry, I am not going to do anything harsh. I just can't stop crying. I am soooooo tired of feeling and being nothing more than a looser. I suffer from chronic back pain, depression and that might be getting in the way. I just want to stop crying and I want my life back. I feel like a failure to my husband and an embarassment to my son. In my heart, I feel he loves me...but, I hate myself. I don't want to be this looser anymore. I once was a success....now....I am nothing!! Sorry for the negative self pity crud. Was never ever ment to be that way. Thanks to you all.

I really missed all of you and the support that was always there. You guys are the best!!! That is from the bottom of my heart.

From: Nekocats.....now......Nekocats2

but now psychwife2...

I really hate that this board was down for a while...it left many of us without the place to vent and find support for those difficult times!  But we're back now and here for each other!!

I really understand how you are feeling.  No, I don't suffer from chronic pain but I understand your feelings of not feeling yourself anymore..."I used to be a success...now...I am nothing!"  My present feelings of depression stem from my youngest son preparing to be in his senior year in high school.  For the last 20+ years, my identity was based on being the stay at home mother of two and now that is all going to change.  I have to keep reminding myself that life is NOT over just because my circumstances have changed.  I'm still me and I still have a lot to contribute.  And so do you!

Self pity happens to all of us and as long as you're able to admit it, you are already in a better place than you could be.  Continue to vent and look for support....there's no reason to apologize for having down days.  And don't assume that you know how your husband and son feel about you.  You're not giving them enough credit and it isn't fair for you to assume that they feel that way.  Have you told them how you feel?  Try it, you will probably be surprised and pleased with their response.

Don't give up, don't wallow alone....keep in touch....we're here for you!!!

Thanks Beachsmile

I'm preparing to go on a trip to donate some things to someone in need. I thought I'd stop by and saw your post and just thought I'd say "Hi". Here in Dallas we are under a heat advisory and I had to cancel my walk when I got to the corner and was winded and it was only 6:30 a.m. So I used my stepping machine. Shallow breathing has been linked to anxiety, panic and depression and I even noticed last week that Dr. Phil had an expert on talking about the importance of oxygenating the brain. Dancing to the oldies or new tunes. Due to ozone red alert days here in Dallas after missing 2 weeks of my walks I realized I needed to practice what I preach and I hopped back on my stepping machine. Already feeling somewhat back to normal and my blood pressure is lower. Had gotten up to 115/97 in just two weeks of not walking or using stepping machine. Of course any exercise program should be talked over with a physician. Lots of emphasis too is put on playing meditation CD's to listen too. Most panic attacks people have stopped breathing right before. So learning and remembering to breathe calmly and relaxed can be quite soothing. I, too, have been slightly nervous about message boards. You do have to exercise caution and balance of time spent online yet there is a lot of supportive fellowship too. Be Blessed. Beachsmile

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I appreciated your response. It is summer vacation for the schools and my 10 yr. old gets most of my attention so there won't be any chance of spending too much time online. Don't get me wrong... I'm not complaining, if it weren't for her being here to get me through my darkest days about 8 yrs. ago, I wouldn't be around to dedicate every minute to her! My husband is great too, but my girl is my sunshine! It has been really hot and humid here in Southwestern Ontario the last little while too! Lots of popsickles and slush puppies! Anyways like I said I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to respond. I'll be back off and on over the next couple of weeks. My husband is on vacation so hopefully we'll be doing something or other. Take care. Dreamco

Depression

I have suffered depression for years and I am still on medication for it. I am 67 yrs old and I found the answer for my depression and that is my church. I love the Lord with all of my heart and He is the greatest Doctor that anyone can have. I have been to councillers and I thought that I was over my depression but my childhood memories keep on comming back to me and I am back to square one. I joined a little church in a very small village and the Pastor is a very helpful person and with his help and God's help I am on the right track, I love to help folks and I keep myself busy. I now can say that I am happy for the first time in my life and with God's help I can lose the weight that I have carried around for ever. I need to lose 100 pounds to be healthy. So if I can be of any help to someone I am here. I think that Dr Phil is a great person and he has helped a lot of folks on his shows. So God Bless You Dr Phil

Love Buddy10
