WOW! That's some intense writing subjects. Good job!

Quote From: pprincess

I am working on a novel I completed ten years ago, as it was saved on 5 1/4" floppies. [I don't know how to transfer data from an old computer to a new one, so I'm typing the whole dang thing and editing as I go. It's a historical novel set in 17th Century England.

My other novel is halfway completed. It's set in the airline industry.

I also write articles and reviews too-some were published in Australian newspapers or magazines.

Some ladies in our local writers' group write Haiku. There is a publication called Yellow Moon here in Australia where poets can enter their work.

PS: How do you get your text to turn purple?

You might could contact a shop that sales computer supplies as most have an inhouse technical staff who might tranfser for you or know someone who could for not much of a cost at all. I cand transfer old MAC disks to CD on mine yet Lynn has to walk me through it. I think I just load disk in one slot and then put on a new formated CD in other slot and drag disk onto that icon on computer screen and copies onto. Although there might be more steps than that. I have a Macintosh though and my comptuer is over ten years old so maybe an option since CD's hadn't been out that long then. Those computer tech staff love to talk computers so pick up the phone as might save you what sounds like A LOT OF TIME, from what you said.

PICTURES

Adding a picture to your message

1. Open your message posting window

2. Click the last icon on the tool bar, it looks like a picture of a mountain and a sun. This opens up the Photo Manager.

3. At the top where it says "Upload New Photo" click the "Browse" button.

4. Locate the picture you want to add on your computer

5. Where it says "Title", give your picture a title (otherwise it will be called Title)

6. Click the Upload button on the Photo Manager

7. Your picture should then appear in My Photos. If it's a really big picture, it might take some time to load so give it a few seconds.

8. Once you have a picture stored in My Photos, to add it to your message box just click on the picture.

NOTE: You can only store up to 10 pictures in My Photos. If you delete a picture, it will also disappear from any message you added that picture to. Make sure you give each picture you upload a new Title."

"To avoid problem of vanishing pictures in posts:

* Name each picture you upload with a different title so if you upload a picture of a cat, you can write the word cat1 where it says Title. A new cat picture could then be called cat2, something different than the first one.

* If you want the picture to stay on your message, do not delete it from the photo manager. The photo editor can hold up to 10 pictures, as long as a picture is in the photo editor, it should stay in your post." GOOGLE IMAGES (seach for picture wanted and Barb says: "You right click on the picture you want and then hit save in I put my in my picture file.")

COLORS:

Some members have said that if you type your replies on e-mail or word programs in color that just copying and pasting to a post on Dr. Phil Website the colors will automatically transfer to post. I have a MAC instead of a PC so I don't know. That is a lot easier than using codes. Here are codes for whoever so you can try either way. I keep my mail open while I am online and refer to a draft e-mail to use my codes so I don't keep having to type out and can just copy and paste and change colors or sizes on Dr. Phil Website. I'd think this too could be done to type in color on a PC word program then copy and paste to post. Just keep Dr. Phil website page and Mail in such a way that not flushed together so you can click back and forth to do. For instance, right now I am typing this on an e-mail and I will copy and paste to Dr. Phil in a post when finished. Also, some websites that have color pallets you can use color codes (#0099FF). You insert color number code where color name would go. You will not see code before each color change because by adding the symbol < in front of font that activates code and code disappears and presto chango... Color wanted appears.

font color=copper size=1> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=blue size=2> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=fusha size=3> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=purple size=3> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=#0099FF size=4>

(Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

Laurie

I hope you're doing okay.  I gather that something happened on here that I have no idea about..but I hope it's resolved??

My eye-strain is in full-force this morning so I'm limiting myself on here.  I'll try to email you later -or for sure, by tomorrow morning.  I'm not even going to weigh myself today.  I have pins and needles in my hands which is usually one of the ways I can tell I'm retaining water.  I don't want to depress myself first thing on a Monday!

Anyway, I hope to hear from you soon.

Take care!

I have three steps from den into garage...

Quote From: catluv1

I'm just saying quick hellos for now.  I have a heat 'contraption' I've been using on my eyes on and off.

I had a nice weekend.  Yesterday we did a little small town shopping (we never got to it for my birthday!).  I got myself a pretty little malochite pendant as part of (or should I say most of) my gift.  We also went hiking, had a picnic, and I got to do some picture taking.  Oh, and we stopped off at this cute little place that's part of an inn....they have candy apples, candy...(chocolate..need I say more?!).  Yeah, I was bad.  I think I'm approaching PMS.  Why does it feel like I have PMS more than I don't?!  lol

Oh, about my washer and dryer being in the garage..my garage is attached to my unfinished basement.  I don't have to go outside to get to it but I have to go up and down stairs, struggle with a stiff door while trying not to let the cats get in the garage (and Sami, the little peanut , is always ready to sprint right by me!), and I have to navigate a ton of landscaping equipment plus bikes, garbage and recycling pails....and have like no room to do it without knocking things over!

Well, I guess that wraps it up for now.  I'm going to try to get some house things done while reveling in my last days of having the house to myself since this is my kids' last week of school and some of them are even half-days!  Sob, sniff, sniff....!

Have a great day!

:) Suzanne

My washing companions are yard and car supplies and various odds and ends and a Dodge RAM Truck. Thank God the various Sparrow Condos were torn down by Lynn who was doubling as Saint Francis for awhile. Lynn befriended a sparrow he named, "Chirp, Chrip." Who had babies and they all began coming there to have babies. It was like a sparrow airport and B&B. Without elaborating that had outhouses ALL over my clothes rack and washing machines. Lynn didn't hit the ceiling until all over his truck. LOLz Washing is not first on our list of fun things to do and add to it having to clean bird droppings first each time with Lysol towels. YUK! I sound chipper because my laundry is presently done. I have an antique coat rack from Methodist church up the streets I got FREE that they threw out. Then, I have a folded down old table in pretty good condition I got for $3 not that long ago that I set my clothes basket on now. Actually, except for counting my blessings for making it up and down stairs carrying clothes without falling each time, it isn't half bad. Likely, only bad if I am having a PMS moment. Much of the time I enjoy how good it feels after chores are done so much that I try to keep my focus there. Especially fun to do while jamming to music and sipping a lemonade or Arizona Tea. Enjoy what's left of your me time Suzane. Nice to see you.

Are you making a list of projects for your children? Organizing the garage sounds like a good project for them to make you a nicer washing area. I like mine lots more since I made a few simple decorating changes. Not my dream laundry room yet lots better now... :-) SEA

But I think laundry should be able to fold itself, lol!

I mean if they can make a machine that mixes raises

and bakes your bread, why not make a machine that

can wash dry and fold your laundry too?!

Oh, yeah and Rosanne Barr's vision of a riding vacuum,

that is my idea of house work, lol!
