Mary...

Quote From: contrary

It will be (I think) 6 yrs since my big D.

I will not be with anybody else because Ed,my Ex, was such a good man.

I did not appreciate him or love him as deeply as he loved.

HE had to much pressure supporting my brother and me.

He had big spending issues and we got into a lot of debt.

It was just too much for him and with me not loving his like I should have, he went on vacation and found someone better.

I don't blame him for leaving me, just what happened after the separation.

I was divorced for 6 months and did  not even know it.

I still love him and miss the companionship he gave me

Mary

Marriage is a 50/50 thing. Both partners play in the construction and destruction of a marriage. I would not say that he found someone better. He found someone else maybe but I doubt someone better than you. You need to give yourself more credit. Just because you may have some problems coping with some things that have happened in your life does not make you a bad person nor does it make you not love someone the way they should be. When we marry we marry for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, til death do  us part. You held to your vows and I am sure you loved him the best way you knew how. I think we will always love the ones we marry.

I felt guilty for a long time thinking I was holding my husband back with my issues but I look at as if he would have been more supportive I would have made better progress. Dr. Phil yesterday said that what is important to a man is how he treats his wife behind closed doors when no one is looking. And what defines a man is how happy he makes her. He made Robin cry and it even touched me immensely. I hope men get this message because wives are more apt to respond to a kind loving husband than one that wants to bark all the time or isn't understanding.

So, give yourself the credit you deserve.

Teen Poverty in America

I just spent several hours observing teenagers hanging out at our local mall. I came to the conclusion many teenagers in America today are living in poverty. Most young men I observed didn't even own a belt; there was not one among the whole group. But that wasn't the sad part. Many were wearing their daddy's jeans. The jeans were so big and baggy they hung low on their hips, exposing their underwear. I know some must have been ashamed their daddy was short, because his jeans hardly went below their knees. They weren't even their daddies' good jeans, for most had holes ripped in the knees and a dirty look to them.

It grieved me, in a modern, affluent society like America, there are people who can't afford a decent pair of jeans. I was thinking about asking my church to start a jeans drive for "poor kids at the mall."

Then on Christmas Eve, I could go Christmas caroling and distribute jeans to these poor teenagers. But here is the saddest part..... it was the girls they were hanging out with that disturbed me most.

I've never, in all of my life, seen such poverty-stricken girls. These girls had the opposite problem of the guys . They all had to wear their little sisters clothes. Their jeans were about 5 sizes too small! I don't know how they could put them on, let alone button them up. Their jeans barely went over their hipbones. Most also had on their little sister's top; it hardly covered their midsections. Oh, they were trying to hold their heads up with pride, but it was a sad sight to see these almost grown women wearing children's clothes.

However, it was their underwear that bothered me most. They, like the boys, because of the improper fitting of their clothes, had their underwear exposed. I never saw anything like it. It looked like their underwear was only held together by a single piece of string. I know it saddens your heart to receive this report on condition of our American teenagers. While I go to bed every night with a closet full of clothes nearby, there are millions of "mall girls" who barely have enough material to keep it together. I think their "poorness" is the 2 groups gather at the mall, boys with their short daddies' ripped jeans, and girls wearing their younger sisters' clothes. The mall is one place where they can find acceptance.

So, next time you are at the mall, doing your shopping, and you pass by some of these poor teenagers, would you say a prayer for them? And one more thing ... Will you pray the guys' pants won't fall down, and girls' strings won't break?

I thank you all,
A Concerned Grandmother

Hi 4ever 29 so at the Mall, huh... $30 Landsend pants are $4.98 at SEARS as I got Lynn's mom 2 pairs.

Prozac! Here kitty, kitty, kitty... Inquiring mines like mine and MJ's must know how thee's kitty Prozac is. I was saddened by the conditions nine college girls rooming together were living in. Getting drunk all the time. Leaving condom wrappers in beds of room mate. Dr. Phil was talking about if they just gossip about each other about their problems rather then talking directly that they'd always have problems and that, essentially, they all agreed about what bothered them. To me though an issue equally big was their substance abuse with alcohol and living in filth. Oh well, nice to know the facts. I got food poisoned on KFC chicken Lynn bought last night and dreamed I was sick and I was. LONG DAY since lots to do today. Tiggz has been sick too. OH if you have a spare prayer I could use how every many spares you have... Good to see you pop in. Hugs and prayers, SEA

Hi Sea,

Sorry to hear about you guys getting food poison.  Thanksfully, I don't like fast food places.  But, there are some classy restaurants that are just as bad.  I don't blame the restaurants, I blame the cooks..Hope you're feeling better.  I also keep spare prayers on hand, so I'll send up a few for you and Lynn.  { { { HUGZ } } }

Have a Great Evening!
