You are doing an excellent job self probing...

Quote From: dntask

I did try to call my dr. today but of course the office closed at 4pm and i called around 4:15. Anyways! I really don't know where to start. I can go back to when I was a child, or I can go back just a few years. I do have to say atleast I know it does go way back to my childhood what has triggered it. I do keep thinking what friend can I call to vent to, but I just don't want to be that birden. I know two of my friends where already like open up will you. I can't cause I do know what my one friend has going on in her life, and I feel like she has enough going on. My other friend, I really don't belive she will know what to do, what words to say to help me. I have been there for them, all my friends that have came running to me for advice. I even sit back and think of what I have told them, Heck why can't I take the advice I give them to help me. I know I take after my father with temper. I use to punch walls and yell alot when someone would tick me off. I can say I never hit no one. My dad is a drinker, not as bad as he was when I was younger thank god. Just glad I didn't follow that. Yes he was a mean drunk. I did look up depression online and there was a little quiz to take to roughly see what kind of depreesed person I am. I am not sure how acurate the quiz is, but heck I even started balling reading the questions. UGH!!!!!!! It says I am moderately severe depressive. Doesn't sound that bad. LOL...Yes I have to laugh at that just because mainly that is what I think, it dont sound bad. I have in the past sat down and wrote things for like two days. Then after that I couldn't stick with it cause it couldn't keep my attention, pertty much borded me i guess. Heck maybe buying a punching bag will help, wont hurt the fist as much when punching a wall. HAHAHA
You have a handle on where you learned pressure release via angry outbursts from your dad. Yet, you've seen didn't work for him because hurt you and you aren't your dad... you are you. Nonetheless, have that tendency to consider from seeing your dad in action.

There is such a thing as scream therapy and other positive ways of releasing the pressure of stress. Walks. Some go into closet so neighbors don't dial 911 if think you are in distress instead of releasing distress. Others go t sporting events where yelling is normal or turn on a sporting event on TV.

There use to be a therapy where couples used foam bats to express aggravation with one another. Not sure if still used and not sure if a good idea. Heard about YEARS ago and not much since. I knew a man prone to violence and softball was a release for him. Tennis is good. Dr. Phil refers to tennis as almost therapeutic and a must do on his schedule.

Some tennis courts have a backboard that you can just hit a tennis ball up against and Parks and Recreation Centers have lots of activities. Well, you bowl don't you. I "think" it was you who listed on your profile you bowl. I think our member Corrine bowls too... or has or use to and may still now.

What is your bowling score? Are you on a league? I use to love to bowl the few times I have. Being on a bowling league is fun. That's a good release... throwing bowling ball. Imagine you are throwing all your problems and stress away with each toss.

To me, it sounds like you've got a handle on it and are taking personal inventory and VERY proactive. Sorry you missed your doctor today. That's happened to me before when I forgot a doctor I saw left at noon on Fridays. Thank God for tomorrows, right?

However, if you feel you need help there's 911 and you can go to Crystal Cathedral New Home and click on link to talk to a live counselor FREE online. Religion isn't topic or paramount to call and was created in 1965, I think, when a member there attempted suicide. Dr. Phil "and" Robin both have spoken at Crystal Cathedral. Just a suggestion. That's life... like economics: choice. I wish us all the best choices managing our lives like top not CEO's on the ball rolling with the punches but not throwing them.

Hugs and prayers and thanks for the reply. SEA

oopsies dntask... I meant NEW HOPE. Below is link...

I guess that was a Freudian Slip since i want a new home in my home town or a typo... Either/or Life is sort of like that... multiple choice and trial and error... until finding the perfect fit in life that fills you with passion for life and makes you smile. Like Dr. Phil says I feel, "I want you to get excited about your life." Me too. We too.

You've been through A LOT...

Quote From: itsme62

When it comes to my "garbage" the blinders just get darker and darker! It's so much easier to help others see the light than to go through my own darkness! I'm hoping and praying I get my tax refund SOON! If i can just go without writing another check from the insurance account I'll be okay. I filed my taxes back in FEBRUARY! They said they found a problem with it! Well, I went over it again and everything was right! I wasn't the one who filled them out though. They say I should have it within the next thirty days! I'm sure not going to hold my breath!
itsme62, I've been proud of you to gradually begin to hold on to more and more hope when things are going right. When things aren't going right it makes us all insecure. I still have to watch not reacting. You would not believe how many posts I've typed and deleted when reacting all over the place emotionally. WAY more than you have gotten concerned. In fact, just recently, I deleted two. I thought if emotionally drained me to write. LOLz Might emotionally drain you to read. On the plus side then you might have been too tired to stress over things in your life stressing you.

You have made a lot of very well thought out EXCELLENT posts to others. You often apply that same EXCELLENT advice in your own life. I think, too, you've seen what can happen here is that anxiety can be contagious. I've noticed in me, you and others that often after reading a very stressful post enough to create insecurity in most anyone that the same stress chemicals person is experience can be released in we who read who can identify. Or triggers a similar event in our own lives.

I've seen flash backs in myself the past couple of days and one in you. So... there you have it. You're okay and I'm okay and both only human so, sometimes, life is a bit much. Even for Dr. Phil and Robin. We all are just winging it on a wing and a prayer. I think you are working on a good flight plan and I hope and pray, literally, that more and more things start going right so you regain your confidence. Its a beautiful thing to see confidence and happiness beaming in your words. I want that to become natural for all of us and not just acting as if until IS and because IS.

Today was a better day for me. Thank God and all y'all's prayers plus some effort on my part. Hugs and prayers, SEA

P.S. I just read a poem sort of like seeing a glass half full. We were supposed to be inspired by a picture of a person on beach at dawn with a handful of balloons with a poem to go with "Colorful Dreams For Sale". More or less poet equated with their life that "strings attached". Poet had separated

strings attached

which was both an observation I hadn't considered and quite effective at her point of reference. I said that and I said on a positive note those same strings can help us hold onto something we don't want to lose. Or the old string on the finger to remember things important to us.

Hold onto to your good sense because you have EXCELLENT discernment abilities. (Ability to perceive things clearly.) I've seen you share this skill with me and others and apply in your own life sharing events unfolding. I just thought I'd share that. So often we see positive things in others and miss a chance to say so SO I wanted to say so. I'm still rooting for you in Dallas. I cheer when things are going well and I pray out of the disappointment when life throws you a curve ball. Remember the main ingredient in prayers and dreams and in you: believing prayers will be answered even if a little differently than though, dreams do come true yet MOSTLY hold on tight ALWAYS believing in YOU. Keep that confidence of planning on coming out on top. Since I've known you I've never seen life keep you down too long. You've learned your life depends on your not giving up. Me too.

Glad to know someone really thinks I have a handle on it. I wasn't sure. Yes I do bowl. Been doing it for god knows how long. Im not a 300 bowler thats forsure. My avg. is like 136-142. I haven't bowled on a league in awhile cause it cost so much anymore. Being single and working the graveshift really bites. I do have to say there was times when I would put that head pin as the person I couldn't stand the most. Friends would laugh at me when I be like that pin is so and so. And sure enough I would atleast knock it down maybe not a strike but it would be down. As for tennis it is a good sport to take anger out on but with the way I am acciedent ( i know it isnt spelled right) prone, I would twist an ankle or something. Tearing the ligaments in one ankle twice really stunk and once in the other ankle. I have to go back to work tomorrow night, after having the last two off. After the incedent in work the other night I didn't do any talken to much of anyone. And trying to act like nothing was wrong to the people I don't mind working with wasnt to much fun. But what was fun was hearing my friends I do have come to me and be like so and so wanted to know what was wrong with you. They pertty much told them it not your business and why dont you ask her whats wrong. I think if i would do that screamming thing in my house my neighbors wouldnt think it was me, they probally think it was my crazy neighbor, HA! If I did that I probally scare the heck out of my dogs, even they I yell at them for being a pain in my rear at times. I do have to say thoe they are good company when I am down and in tears.

My pet collie mix Tigger gets scared if I get excited rooting the Oklahoma Sooners on. Well, last college bowl game I didn't yell much as Sooners lost and was depressing.. So I guess I'm on the right board. Plus, I decided not to watch since Tigger got so scared since I never yell... or for some reason. Tigger is from a doggie homeless shelter and was abused so maybe abuse happened during football games. I don't know.

Tigger was brought to shelter and adopted and returned twice so he has doggie PTSD and cheering OU on triggers some sort of insecurity in him and he goes and hides. So you DO have a point. LOLz Not funny how scared he gets I'd just forgotten until you mentioned so scratch that idea. We've had Tigger about nine years and only in past year did I start watching OU play since got to see my home town during home games. I SO get why people enjoy watching, now. I use to think I'd rather play catch with football outside than watch.

My bowling isn't consistent and I haven't bowled since I don't know when. I hear you on the rising cost of everything from bowling to you name it.

I think my average was about like yours when I was on a league, once.

When I coached softball one of my players twisted her ankle really badly. Wait! That might have been when I played on City Hall team for my home town and not my team. Not sure now. Looked VERY painful though and badly bruised. She dropped out for season after that and just like second practice.

Playing tennis like Dr. Phil does I can see where a sprung ankle could happen. I played beginner tennis and won all my games and trophy. Yet, would you believe, since I bent my arm when I hit ball the judge was actually rooting other person on saying she didn't want me to win since my form was not in form. I guess it showed I was self taught besides basic rules.

I just thought funny that other person was so concerned about form... a cinch to win. Personally, though, I just like to volley ball back and forth to see how long we can rather than compete trying to hit out of reach of person... Or did.

I like 3rd shift except you are right since most don't work 3rd shift can get a little lonesome since schedule doesn't mesh with most everyone else's.

You come alive when you talk about bowling so I hope you can get into another league. I knew one church that actually had bowling lanes in their Family Life center. That's great that persons stood up for you to either ask you or none of their business.

What kind of dogs do you have? You are right pets are A LOT of company. Tigger is a real pal.

If you answer this post I may not see until tomorrow as off to bed. My how time flies when enjoying chatting. Nice chatting with you. Hugs and prayers, SEA

I think Rosemary bushes and Marigolds ward off those vicious mosquitos. I googled yet don't remember all or precisely which bushes. I loathe those sadistic bugs. I have so many battle wounds and it just urks me how out of nowhere bitten. Likely, person who came up with quote, "Life bites" thought of it after being bitten by a mosquito.

I will not be able to apply Dr. Phil's Life Law 9 to Mosquitos. Well, if Dr. Phil insists I'll try. Ouch on the blisters... I'm always forgetting to put on my gloves. Those are important. Ditto on goodnight to all... (I was just headed that way) and G'Day to all others... Sprinkled with sweet dreams for you and me and all when sweet dream time... like now for us. Deal! Over and out and off to bed. SEA

Depression

Quote From: labelfree

Dear Depression board family......

I thought it was going to be all over today but it wasn't.  I am so very glad I have since JUNE 05 or before I have had the support of our family here on DR Phil's depression board!

This  has always been a very safe place for me to post and get ugly feelings out.

I stopped writing on here because my ex's new relationship has STALKED me here and has made up so many lies about me she  (as I thought )  is jealous of me.

As I read in (OUR DISCOVERY PAPERS) she is about 3 years younger than me but to tell you the truth her appearance is as if she was 10 years older than me.  She also claims something about her 8 year old child and that is why I was shocked because since I thought she was 10 years older than me  how could she possibly have a small child!

She is acting like she is obsessed with my life and she became very emotional and lied right to the JUDGES FACE today...I am leaving NJ tomorrow about 4:30 PM

I actually felt sorry for my ex husband today who has to deal with such a pathetic personality type.

I must return back here to NJ in 8 months and she is ordered to stay away from me and me to her!

I cannot get into the specifics as of yet to this case but please understand this OK!  You know I would tell ya all everything and anything.

THIS cookie crack pot needs to understand if she rights up one more false police report against me I will prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law.

From now until the time I must report again if she does anything against the law to me my new hired attorney can and will press charges against her in a criminal matter than I will also SUE her in a civil matter!  Making her realize I have NO RECORD  NO bad driving tickets  and I will not allow anything to tarnish that!  LYING TO A JUDGE  A PROSICUTOR and THE POLICE is against the law!

I am so happily married and in-love with my new husband.  No one will rob my joy not even for one minute.

Just good to see you back!  Your pal... Mary Ann
