(Original Air Date: 09/20/06) Have you ever wanted revenge on an ex-lover? How far would you go? First, look inside a legal battle that has been brewing all summer. Tasha, creator of the Web site DontDateHimGirl.com, says her site is a public forum for women to share their dating experiences and tell the "truth" about their exes. Todd says false information about him was posted on Tasha's site, and he thinks she should be liable for the negative posts. He has filed a lawsuit against her and two of the women who posted. When they face off for the first time, who does Dr. Phil think is right? Then, Ashley found out her boyfriend, Corey, had cheated on her three times during their 10-month relationship. Now, she says she wants to get revenge by exposing him to the world. So why did she recently call Corey and beg for sex? And, Corey comes clean with Ashley and tells her how he really feels. Talk about the show here.

Find out what happened on the show.

Revenge of the exes

I was shocked at how vengeful these women can be. I am a female and I could not imagine making someone miserable to make myself feel better. I agree with the guy involved in the lawsuit-it could potentially ruin his life professionally and personally. I don't think anyone is innocent of ever doing something hurtful to another person. Would we want our "dirty laundry" aired that way? I think not.

09/20 Revenge of the Exes

Quote From: rose2dad

Tasha's demeanor made me embarrassed for all women.  I agree with Todd.

The DONTDATEHIMGIRL.com website allows women to post their comments anonymously yet specifically identify the man with his full name, picture, etc.

I would not have "dignified" the website with a response either.  Todd is taking

appropriate action.  His is not the only lawsuit concerning this type of internet activity.

The front page of the San Antonio Express News today reads "S.A. educator sues over

page on MySpace.  Suit claims assistant prinicipal was defamed, libeled by two students."

Two 16 year olds & their parents are named in the lawsuit.   It will be interesting to see

how the courts rule in these cases.

I ABSOUTELTY, TOTALLY AGREE, that Tasha is an embarrassment to and for all Women.  I really hope that before she leave this world that find LOVE in her heart and learn to do what's right in every situation.

Exactly

Quote From: mscarlett

'When is someone or some agency going to put restraints on the internet's access and use?  When women like Tasha can do what she is doing and profit from it, it is no wonder men like Todd will respond in kind.  Pornography and the exploitation of children and teens takes precedence over this sort of foolishness, but it is all adding to the detriment of our society.  Wake Up America - smell the Republic burning.  (and as an after-thought, "the lady doth protest a bit too much" in response to Tasha).
You are right on point.  Well done.

Tasha and Todd

I'M 50/50 ON THIS TOPIC. I THINK TODD DOES HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE UPSET FOR THE POSTING AGAINST HIM. I ALSO THINK THAT TASHA IS NOT FULLY TO BLAME, HER SITE IS A GOOD IDEA, MAINLY FOR WOMEN THAT ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD GUY. TODD IS A GOOD LOOKING GUY AND MAY BE USING IT TO HIS ADVANTAGE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NAIVE WOMEN. THIS PERSON WHO POSTED THIS DID NOT DO THIS FOR NO REASON AND MAYBE HE FINALLY TO ADVANTAGE OF THE WRONG PERSON.. AND OBVIOUSLY DOES NOT LIKE IT.

DR.PHIL, JUST LIKE THIS MESSAGE BOARD AND OTHER SITES LIKE MYSPACE. ANYONE CAN POST THEIR MESSAGES AGAINST ANYONE. JUST LIKE OTHERS  ARE POSTING AGAINST TASHA, THAT SHOULDN'T MAKE YOU OR THAT OTHER COMPANY LIABLE.

TODD JUST NEEDS TO GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON.  MAYBE THE TRUTH HURTS

Profiting from Slander and Defamation

Tasha, the creator and owner of the website, dontdatehimgirl.com, has found a profitable loophole in our laws that otherwise disallows the press from printing slander and defamous information about private persons for profit.

True, the cyber net is not the press, but who can't deny that websites, blogs etc, have come to being as effective in broadcasting to and touching as many readers that our newspapers do?

Since the draw of attention to her website is based on the slander and defamation that is published, shouldn't there be a law requiring that those who publish such slander at least publish their identities as well?

The press, with its power within America's media, is held accountable for its information because of its power over people's perceptions and opinions; shouldn't website's like Tasha's also be brideled as well?

It is the privacy, and the reputation of private people that are being taken and destroyed, and Tasha is profiting from these people's losses directly.

Tasha / Todd Battle (Todd Grow The Hell UP!!)

Todd you want money point blank.  Okay lets sue the national enquirer, Let's sue ebay and Lets sue myspace for allowing people to post and write what they want about people.  I just heard of this website about two weeks ago called DON'T DATE HIM GIRL.COM and you have the odasity to sue Tasha.  PLEASSSEEE.  It's a website so since you know who did it then sue them for slandering but Tasha is an innocent victim in this situation and I'm sure not gonna hate on her for making money off an idea that she thought of.. She has the right to make her money however she wants as long as its legal and it is.  You're a lawyer just trying to put Tasha out of business.  How can you sue her and make her responsible.  Oh i know why cause the person whom posted the messages has no money, no houses or nice cars right!  So Todd can not get nothing from them so you decide to go for the chick with money.  If a judge make her take off those posting he would be insane....   Not to mention you claim she is denying you happiness or is it that your dates have started to see the real you so you blame it on a stupid posting. I still don't understand why the audience was clapping for you cause nothing you said had any revelence to TASHA.  This is between you and the people that came clean about you.  This show just makes me embarrased that another one of our brothers is out there looking for a get rich quick publicity scheme.  Give it up Todd.  This is your fight do it right or not at all.. Sueing Tasha is not right at all and deep down you know she is not responsible but keep listening to what people tell you about winning and it would be a waste of town.  Either stop doing what you're doing or GROW UP and ignore the rumors.  I know you have not always gone through life without someone lying on you or making up something about you.  You live in an imperfect world do move on and quit looking over your shoulder thinking everyone you meet in the street is concerned about you.  Then guess what made the rumors even worse.. YEP you put your business on national television which really alerts everyone now to go and view the site.... Good luck to all of you who thinks that this is right cause once again sueing Tasha is dead wrong

revenge of the ex's

its a shame what tasha has put todd through , that web site should be removed or someone should open up website "don't date her"

first of all when someone is upset a person doesn't think straight

i consider this slander and defamation of character

i don't understand how this can be legal

yes we do have the first amendment but a person needs to draw a line somewhere

i believe tasha is using this web site to release some anger from a past relationship

move on get over it

always remember what comes around goes around

Come on Todd - be realistic

The reality of the situation is that Todd is completely blowing this out of proportion.  Taking it to court and on national TV is only drawing attention to it.  I didn't even know about the website until I saw it on Dr. Phil.  So of course, I went and checked it out and got a good laugh.  Todd accused Tasha of keeping happiness from him because she would not remove the posting; but, many women that he would happen to encounter wouldn't have even heard of it if he wasn't using it for publicity.  Okay, so a woman calls you gay and says you have herpes.  I think if he wouldn't be on tv and in court it would die down, but he just keeps adding gas to the spark.  This is not Tasha's problem.  Its like sueing a bar for having your name on the bathroom wall...Todd, is there some truth to these accusations?  People will always have something to say about you.  In college, a guy I wouldn't go out with told another guy that I was interested in that I was a golddigger.  But that other guy got to know me for hisself.  I have been married to that guy for eight years.  Any woman worth having will not let this come in the way of getting to know you.

I certainly agree with your feelings on this person.  I just want to take it another step and say the Tasha is an embarassment to and for all people.  While I also hope she can find some happiness in life, I am not optimistic.

Examples

Quote From: noellskie

OMG are you kidding me! Regardless of whatever this guy has or has not done, what these women are doing is no different that what youth are doing online - only we call it CYBER BULLYING! This is the excatly one of the points I make in my thesis which is on the topic of cyber bullying. If a youth says something negative, hurtful or hateful against a peer it is labled as bullying, but yet were does this behaviour become acceptable ? Is it just because they are adults that they seem to think it is ok? I know Dr. Phil will set them straight on this. If we want our young people to treat others with respect online than we as adults need to set that example and not engage in and model the same behaviour we are telling them is not ok!

Dr. Phil I know you have my back on this don't you!

I'm sure he would agree with you, but you should know he isn't the only one in your corner on this.
