I don't like the treadmill because it pounds on your joints, I love the elleptical, your're feet don't get off the ground so it doesn't hurt! try the elleptical at your gym, I'm sure you'll love it!!
No, I haven't seen a physical therepist, don't believe in them, but I do need to go see my doctor to get an xray of my ankle, it's more than just a sprain, I'm sure of that!
I have been waiting for my husband to finally agree to buy a home gym, wich will cost less then paying for a gym membership and a babbysitter! But unfotunatly men are stupid lol. gotta love them!
So I will stop saying I'm doing it and not do it, and "just do it" ha ha ha!
Missy, start collecting information on them ... do you have a fitness equipment store in your town? In your community? Go on the web and check them out .. pull together the flyers and stuff ... I believe that Sears sells them as well. Then leave the stack around where he can check it out. Men buying exercise equipment is more about "getting the best deal" to meet their needs ...
And be sure to discuss where you need to put it ... I mean, if he's agreed to buy it, then you are not doing anything like harping on him -- you are just discussing the "big purchase".
Tell him what you are looking for .. what your needs are .. discuss his needs as well. But don't harp on it ... then you'll never get it.
Too bad you don't like physcial therapists ... I went to one on my feet and it was a really good experience. He gave me 3 different exercises and they are still with me. I highly recommend them to everyone .. I only went to him once and I could have continued to go; however, he taught me what I needed and I was able to continue on my life.
I hope your ankle isn't broken or sprained really bad ... that means you have to figure out an exercise program doing something different.
And getting into exercise is all about listening to what you are saying and then tackling each thing and challenging it. It's like when I think about my exercise room ... I got to make the pink curtains, I got to get the DVD/VCR/TV working, I got to clean the floor and dust eveything off; I go to .....
I know exactly what the list is ... I also knwo that right now, I have othre things that are more important -- like getting my foot togeher. I am walking my dogs, I am going to the gym 2x a week; I am now taking 400-600 mg of IBROFEN every 8 hours per the doctor ... Yep, life gets in the way at times .... that's why I'm not beating myself up right now ... cause I've listened to my exercise tapes and realized that right now I just don't have the time. I figure in another 2 weeeks, I just might be able to get up there and start doing stuff in there.
