Violence in School

I am a teacher in an alternative school...aka where all the drug dealing expelled children go.  Our school is one hallway, and the top half of all the walls are windows.  We can not lock our doors from the inside of our rooms, we have to go into the one hallway to do so.  We do not have a PA system in our school either.  Our front door is wide open, not locked, and does not open into any kind of foyer.  We do, however, have cameras in the classrooms, so it will be filmed when we are all blown away.  My room is one of 2 that has an outside door.  Let me make this statement perfectly clear, I WIlLL NOT, under any circumstance, volunteer to take a bullet for a student.  If I can crawl my little body out that door in the case of a shooter, I will do so and run for help.  Any student who chooses to follow is more than welcome.  I was told by a fellow teacher that I didn't belong in the classroom because I would not die for a student.  I didn't sign up to be a hero by dying on the job, if I wanted that risk I would be a firefighter or a cop (God bless everyone of them).  I am here to educate, not to guard at all cost.  Most teachers I know feel the exact same way I do.  (It has been a hot topic in recent weeks).  As for my own children, I would hope a teacher would be willing to take a bullet for them, but I would not expect them to.  However, that is not going to be an issue, because my children will be homeschooled.

Homeschooling is a wonderful thing, I have several friends who homeschoola nd their children do awesome and have absolutely no issues. I have chosen to send my children to Christian private for now, of course they are still young, my oldest is in kindergarten and she loves her school and i love it. It certainly is a whole differnet atmosphere then the public setting and I bleieve much more safer. I know anything can happen to any one, no one is exempteed from tragedy but at the same time, I think we as parents owe it to our children to keep them as safe as possible and we are responsible for making sure they get the best education possible and that is my goal and I certainly do not want to be sitting at home wondering if my daughteris gonna come home over a tragedy that could happen in her school and I just don't have the peace when it comes to the public system, sad but true.

Good Book about our public schools:  Public Education against America, by Marlin Maddoux.

In California a 6th Grade Girl told her teacher that she wasn't learning anything because she didn't  speak Spanish.  The teacher taught in Spanish and all the other students were Mexican.

The teacher called her a racist, called the police, and had her arrested.

Yep, eye went to publeak skool 2!

Did this really happen in California?? That is crazy! What is this world comming too? I just received an e-mail letting me know that they are now wanting to sing our National Anthem in Spanish. Not trying to sound "racist" or anything, but why is America having to adjust to the spanish ways, instead of the spanish adjusting to America?

It's Called Politically Correct Amego

What is going on you ask ?  Danged if I know.  Another incident was where a father of a 2nd grader noticed his daughter talking about sex and condoms and homosexuality, etc.  He told her teacher that if she was going to teach another class on sex he wanted to sit in on it, so call him.

The teacher taught another class but of course did not call.  When he found out about it he went to the school and confronted the teacher.  The teacher informed him that he had no right to tell her what she could or couldn't teach and she didn't have to call him. Again, the teacher called the cops and he was removed from the class room in cuffs then placed in jail.  This story is also the truth.

Now, something off the subject....For three years I have been trying to get our mayor do something for our city.  He just looked at me and grunted.  Last city meeting I discovered the problem.  He was of the belief that if a person was not born here they had no right to make any suggestions or comments pertaining to the city.  A true story.

I guarentee that my second grader wouldn't be sitting in that classroom. No one needs to be teaching that age about that stuff and if they do, it is gonna be  my children's parents, me and their daddy. :) I do wonder really what the agenda is within our schools, it certainly isn't all abouit academics, that's for sure. Whatever happend to teaching ,math, reading, english,,,,,,,,,,,,,

School Drool

Just discovered that in a few schools the kids are told that if someone shows up flashing a gun, everyone is to grab something and throw it at them.  After doing that then attack them and take the gun.  Remember when we were taught to hide under our desks in case of an A-bomb attack?

New book for Mass. 2nd graders is called King and King.  It is about a Prince who didn't get along with a Princess so he matched up with another Prince.  Drawings of them kissing.  In Mass. gay marriage is legal so the school board sees nothing wrong with it.  The Bias Committee agreed.

Kindergarten book in Lexington shows pictures of homosexual activity.

A 5th grade girl was caught reading a bible on school grounds.  She was sent home to get rid of it and her parents were told that a bible is not allowed on the school grounds.

A local policeman stopped a teenager during lunch break for speeding, no muffler, and stereo turned too high.  The next day city hall received a call that the cop was selling drugs and kept them in his car.  Of course, the kid planted them.  The cop got fired, the kid was found out.

The cop never got reinstated.  Nothing happened to the kid.  The kids mom said " So what, ain't you never been a teenager?"  The kid is back to doing the same and bragging about it at school.

His teachers say that the kid always has been a problem but now others are joining in with him.

Most teachers will tell you (I think) that a good number of school kids have no idea why they are there and look at it like a prison or a place they don/t want to be.
