Topic : 06/07 Backstabbing Sisters

     My oh my. Does this mean that cps isn't doing their job as well as Cristie would like them to? Same thing for the DA? Should we be calling Christie instead when we need Child Protective Services? Should we be calling Christie when we need the DA? Should we call Cristie when we need the Police?
     Where does she get off thinking that she is above these three civil services?

I really think the sister that said there was abuse really in her heart believes it, and is not trying to be a backstabber. If it is going on, or did go on maybe her stepping in now will stop it. 

I feel sorry for Chrisy if it is true that she and her brother were abused as children.  That's a terrible memory to carry with you throughout your life and to know that you weren't able to protect yourself when you were the most vulnerable.  However, I can't say that I believe that her sister and her husband are abusing their children.  She's done her job...notified the authorities, filed complaints, got it on record what she believes is happening in that house.  The investigators ruled out all of her allegations.  It's time to let her sister's family move on with their lives.  IF, strong emphasis on the if, the abuse is true...it will come out and charges will be pressed.  I think that what Christy is doing now is a form of abuse towards the children.  The terrible memories she has of her childhood and the abuse she endured are now the same kind of memories she's giving these children to carry with them for the rest of their lives.  If her true intentions were to protect those children then she would have kept them out of the blame game and handled the issues with the adults involved ONLY.  She has rocked the foundation of those children to their very core and left terrible scares on their young lives.

When I first tuned in, I was definitely inclined to believe Christy--after all, an abuser has every reason to cover up, and why would she pursue it so much if there wasn't something there?  But pretty quickly in, I changed my mind.  Christy is obviously very jealous of Stacy, and I can see why--very pretty, successful career, and she looks like that after having NINE kids?!?!  Wow!  But the things Christy's doing, even apart from the "child abuse" accusations--sabotaging her career when she couldn't manage to destroy her family, saying something so petty as that she had a breast lift--that's someone who's very bitterly jealous of her pretty, successful sister and her big family (was it mentioned whether Christy has any children?).  I'm sure she'll pass a lie detector test--she has herself convinced that this is true.  But I'm sure Stacy will pass one, too.  Stacy made an error in judgement in confiding any marital problem, or any weakness at all, to her sister, because Christy's dying to see her sister lose, and will do whatever she can to make that happen.

 

Sometimes people who are unhappy or have mental problems need to find a reason why, and so create a whole story to explain it to themselves.  It seems that this is what Christy's done.  And for whatever reason, she feels she can't punish her parents for what she believes they did, so she's going to punish her sister--who supposedly wasn't abused--another reason to be jealous of her.  Stacy seemed very sincere, while all I saw in Christy was the desire to "get" her sister.  Why on earth would Stacy's children confide in an aunt they've seen 5 times in their lives?  Christy needs treatment.  Stacy's shown amazing patience in even being able to sit and talk with her mentally ill sister who's trying to destroy her life. 

not trying to piss you off in any way but in this sick and twisted world we live in anything is possable i just pray this isnt the case my god.

It's good the two of you have each other and have a close relationship.  The abuse is so infectious and often destroys sibling relationships as well as other relationships throughout the family.  It's amazing the damage and pain one person can inflict. 

 

Talking is difficult but it's critical for your own healing and for others to gain understanding.  For those who are lucky enough to have grown up in a safe, nurturing environment, much of this is unfathomable.  Even though it's painful and certainly creates conflict, perhaps by speaking out, something good will come of it.  Even if it's not within your own family...you and your sister may be able to positively impact someone else.  I'll be watching for the update that Dr. Phil promised hoping your family finds some resolution and peace and that he will better communicate some of the nuances that are so very typical of abusive families and the aftermath. 

 

I find solice knowing that I am an absolutely fantastic person!  And... I am who I am today, in part, because of my childhood.  It's a part of me but doesn't define me.

I just have to say, it scares the daylights out of me that some vindictive creep could decide they didn't like me and try to destroy my life with false accusations and calling authorities on me.

WOW, Christy craves and lies for attention and sad to say that this time she got national coverage!!  I do somewhat question the thinking of the show putting this on a segment.  There are serious mental issues going on and maybe the lie detector tests should have been done prior to the taping of the show. 

 

It saddens me to see this people having to defend themselves yet again and now on national TV against charges that have been unproven.  I was always told .... "you can't prove a negative". 

 

Enough said....... I don't want to give Christy anymore air time but would like to repeat the idea that a lie detector test should have been done priot to taping!!!
