Learning to like me first

I am in my late Fifties, single, and live in a small country town in Washington state.

I am twice divorced, single now,and for the first time in my life I am learning to be comfortable with that. My history is that I always had a man, any man, and ofcourse, I had never learned to like myself or be my own best company. Its been a fun adventure, the last six years, doing just that. I would love to hear from others whom are learning about themselves a little later in life like I am. I would like to date, I just would rather not ,than settle.

I am very active in my church and community. I have four grown childern that live in the area and 7 grands with 1 on the way.

I guess my question is how do I meet a nice man without going to the innernet( waste of money and time for me) or the bars or senior groups ( I am not ready for that old, thank you)

Anyway would love to hear from others

;(

i don't usually like to talk about this topic but today m making an exception. i received a txt message from a friend who told me that she has a new boyfriend. m thrilled for her coz she deserves to be happy after all that she's been thru. it sucks in my case coz why is it so easy for my friends and everybody around me to be in a relationship and m struggling all my life to be w/ someone? what's wrong w/ me??? a lot, i guess... i don't know?! i should probably just give up. the hardest thing right now is accepting that my fate is to be alone for the rest of my life. ouch! its so damn hard right now. i really m frustrated w/ this empty feeling...

OK...tell me what has worked for you

I'm in my late 40s and trying to figure out where a guy should go to meet quality women. I'm in great shape. Nothing wrong with my looks.  I'm successful. My friends tell me I have a fun personality. I tried the bar thing for a short while. Didn't have any luck there. Next came on line dating. WOW ,that was an eye opener to who is out there. So I'm trying to figure out what to try next. It's looking to me that there are so many women that have made a physical, emotional or financial mess of them selves looking for a guy to fix things.

There has to be a better way to meet quality women. Let me know what worked for you.

Okay, where do You live? Lets meet!!! I really am just teasing, I did want to respond to your comment about women whom have made a mess out of things looking for someone to fix them, that goes for both genders.

I too would like to date again, but I am very happy with myself( that was a long time coming) and know what I need in a relationship with a man. I will be content either way. I think that we need to be comfortable with ourselves before we can be find someone we can be comfortable with.  I too wonder where to look, let me know what you find out. God Bless

Help!

Ok, I need help with this one. My friends have given me advice, i've looked up advice on the internet and I just can't figure this out. I've been going to school with this one guy for 3 months now and i've had the biggest crush on him for a bit - about a month. I can't tell if he likes me or not, but he walks with me to my car everyday, asks if I'm going and some days even waits until I'm ready to go even though he could just leave. My classmates and I went out one night and he seemed to make his way to me for the majority of the night. If I shifted he shifted too. Maybe this is just my preception of things. Anyway, i finally got the nerve up to ask him out and we went out for lunch. It was great! He offered to pick me up, pay for lunch and then even said that if he wasn't going out of town we could have hung out for the rest of the afternoon. We stayed for about another 45 minutes after our plates were taken. He dropped me off and said that we should do it again sometime. Today at school it was as though nothing happened. We were buddy buddy again. I thought we had a great time and I was hoping he'd ask me out, but there were a lot of other people around. Was he just nervous? Should I except him to ask next time we're alone or should I ask him again? Or should I drop it?

Please help!

If you go to a big city go to some mall, look your best ofcourse, and you never know you might mee a cute man or some friendly ladies you can chill with.

I am a 32yr old single divorced mother of 1 with few friends and am sick of coming home alone. My daughter is almost 3yr old and her father has met a new girlfriend and moved on.  He takes her when he can but on the days he has her I still have no one to really hang out with but a few friends and they stay pretty busy themselves. I am not real close to my family although I have tried. My real mother died when I was 21 and my father remarried and nothing has been the same since. I feel like I am never going to meet anyone unless I use the internet and I really am not to keen on that whole thing but I guess i will try. Well if you want to talk anytime just email me at missytylr32@yahoo.com.

Quote From: karen6163

I am a 42 year old divorced mother of one who is in college.  I was married for 18 years and thought everything was great until he started acting strangely.  I found out three months later that he was having an affair.  I asked him to stay and work it out but he left without any remorse.  He is married to the woman he was having the affair with now.  I have no friends that I can go out with and have no way of meeting people.  More than anything, I would just like to have someone to do things with, man or woman.  However, I would like to meet a man who I can trust.  I am really tired of going home from work and having no one to talk to about my day.  I live in a small town where there is nothing to do and no single men my age available.  I used to be a fun person.  I would like to be that way again.
I think I posted quote to the other lady that quoted ur message. Anyway I am 32 single divorced mom of 1 and am also tired of having hardly any friends and no man in my life anymore. My daughter is almost 3yr old and even when her father has her I really don't do much or have too many people to hang out with b/c they are busy and have families of their own. I need some single friends male or female. So if you would like to email me sometime - u can reach me at missytylr32@yahoo.com

Tired of Being Single

Quote From: onyxess

Brother, SHE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU!

If it was so bad in her relationship with the other guy, SHE WOULD LEAVE HIM!!  I'm a woman, and I can tell you truthfully that some women LOVE for two men to fight over them, or to have two boyfriends, or a boyfriend and a guy on the side, or a sex-buddy, or whatever the current term is.  She probably wants to keep this guys because he has a large organ, a long tongue, he's rich, or for whatever reasons she's STILL with him, and have you for that little bit extra attention or for the thrill of having someone on the side.

If your "on the surface" feeling is to not get involved, then what's the problem?  Don't get involved!  Stop thinking that if you just hold out for a little while longer she'll have sex with you, because she may, but she definately will never leave that other guy.  And if she does, remember, Dr. Phil says, "if they'll do it with you, they'll do it to you."  If she's talks to you until 2 a.m. and she's with him, she'll talk to 2 a.m. with some other guy if she's with you.

Onyxess

You nailed that one. That girl is not into him at all and u are  right what she is doing she will do to him as well. Been there done that. My ex husband will probably do the same to his new girlfriend too. Time will tell. I hate being alone too and need to get a life myself. I am working on getting my life together it just takes time and healing. If u like to talk u can email me at missytylr32@yahoo.com
