Let's just agree to disagree, and if we want Honest truth and understanding about things like this go to a doctor not on here, or any forums. There is always going to be that one or two people that are going to argue with anything and everything. Don't waste your time. If it's important to you and you want honest answers talk to your doctor. End of story.
who are you talking to, and what are you talking about?  Of course people disagree and argue their point.  Its called debating.

This is a very good post Turk, being a woman reading or hearing of a ectopic pregnancy gives me a knee jerk response, lol, as i am sure it does many women.

Ectopic pregnancies are horrific for any woman to have to endure for many reasons.

You know It really makes me feel good to know that men are just as concerned abut women's health as women are, and for you to take the time to research this is awsome thank you so much!

95% is to high a percentage to ignore.

Very good information, for women to check out on thier own if they want to learn more, like me lol. Thank you so much =).

Tammy

No problem, I appreciate the gratitude.  :-)

Because it's not a healthy thing to do, that's why.

Quote From: redfeathers

Fine then. Why don't you douche after sex and see what happens?

Not to mention, after I have sex with my husband, there's nothing to worry about, it's not "dirty" and washing completely does fine.  The female body is perfectly capable of handling the natural cleansing necessary.

I am simply suggesting that people should speak to their own private doctors if there is a reason, or cause for douching.

Sorry, trust your instincts on this one

My boyfriend of 7 months says he only looks at the breasts of the girls when he watches porn..(we see each other 3 times a week )and we have sex once maybe)says it reminds him of me when IM NOT.there..well I  went through this in my last relationship ..only difference is I LOVE THIS GUY ..he says he feels bad tahat I called him on it ..we have discussed it and he said he wasnt  into it ,,,sO i thought I was lucky I need to know if I should be feeling lucky lol..we are both 40yrs old..I feel like its the same thing happening all over again...thanx

both 40 yrs old?  You should probably listen to your inner voice speaking loud and clear to you on this one.  If you have to ask the question, there's a reason you are asking.   Trust that, you are old enough and had enough experience in life to start listening.

Talk about it with him, don't make him feel bad about it, just be honest and tell him how this makes you feel.

Besides why are you only seeing him a few times a week?  Is this  a long distance thing?  What prevents you both from being together more often?  What's the deal with all that?

Plain and simple....there's something that doesn't sound just right here.

Good information

Quote From: turkalurk

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1985 Dec 1;153(7):727-9.

Abstract:

The incidence of ectopic pregnancy in the US has more than doubled in the past decade. Because a previous study has suggested that the practice of vaginal douching may increase the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease, a condition known to predispose to ectopic pregnancy, and because the sale of commercial douching products in the US has more than tripled since 1974, the authors investigated this practice as a possible risk factor. The authors interviewed 155 women who a tubal ectopic pregnancy treated at 5 Seattle hospitals between 1975-79 as to their reproductive, contraceptive, and medical histories, demographic characteristics, and personal hygiene practices. During the same period, 456 women who were delivered of a baby in King County were identified from Vital Records and interviewed as controls. A higher proportion of cases than controls reported ever having douched in past. Cases also douched more frequently than controls. After simultaneous adjusting for confounding factors in the data by means of a multiple logistic regression technique, the risk of tubal ectopic pregnancy for women who douched at least weekly was twice that of women who never douched (95% confidence interval = 1.03-4.00).

As you can see, its because a fertility doctor wouldn't recommend an ectopic pregnancy.

And yes, again, douching is not a healthy thing to practice.  If women find it necessary to douche they should seek out a doctor and find a solution to the problem, if there is one.

The thing is ..we discussed it before .I'm not a prude but I do not like the fact that he said that was a thing of the past ..you know ..young with wild hormones..Well ,we are not together more because of our schedules . He is going through a divorce and his wife is taking her time about things..I want to live with him but would like him to get some things dealt with so we can start fresh..we both came out of bad relationships with alcholics.and have been single for about 1 1/2 years each.He is very upsett hat I am not happy about it..he said its personal and I invaded his privacy lol..I said I was upset because he lied ..you,know? My intuition kicked in early in our relationship..but I chose to ignore it thinking I was just scared to be with someone again ,,I decided to go with it and now my heart is breaking I love this guy something awful ..but your right ..something just doesn't feel right ..thanx

......called experience.

Don't deny what you "know" to be real.

Don't fall into a victim of self abuse. When we don't respect and honor our experiences and learn from them for the good of our own lives, do you believe you will find it in being in a relationship of sorts? It is very important to "trust" yourself, because if you don't, you will forever not know  "when to trust someone or not".

Hey I didn't bring it up, nor did I keep on harping about lubricants either, but that subject didn't seem to fade too fast either.

What would you like to bring to the board?   Anything new?

I have been reading some of your posts. You seem passionate about this subject. As if you have given it much thought in your life. I am anxious to see furture discussions and posts from you. :)
