Ok, my other post got deleted and I haven't got a clue as to why?  So let me put it this way....maybe they will approve of my response with this post.  Hummm....

Anyway Darcy, I am so thrilled that you gave last night, that today you are cutting back on things to allow you to help others in need.

You are so right, and I shall walk the walk!  Because the sooner we all do this, the gas prices might go down, (which I sincerely doubt considering 5 of the gas tankers/rigs are lost at sea, and the government hasn't released reserves yet but anyway).....

It's a shame that the reason we would put out such a plea to help others is so that we can see an end to our own inconviences.

You are a wonderful, generous person......now see, you have your reward for the goodness you have done!

P.S. I wonder where Allinall is....I am concerned for him and why he hasn't been here.  Let us know All!

Luv

that allinall that is not around....does anyone know where he said he was from?  ALlinall....if you are out there...give us a holler.

i gave to the red cross

I've just got a huge job I'm working to get done AND I haven't wanted to get into the fray of late.

Anyone donating for relief MAKE SURE who you are donating to those who will use at least, the very least, 80% for what you intend it for.

My heart and soul goes out to these people. AND THEN my anger returns while I find out what's going on in the background. I won't get into that. Just MAKE SURE the money you are donating gets to where you mean it to go. I COULDN'T BE MORE SENCERE ABOUT THAT!!!!
I did a little research....not a great deal but some. I found that the red cross was doing what I was looking to help with. The little guy here at home is ready to kick back in his Kids Care Across America fundraising all over again. He did a bunch of fundraising for the sept 11th victims and for soldiers when we went to war. There is talk he ready to start it once again. Not sure if we will. It is a big job and sometimes we found that he was looked down upon when he did his fundraising. There were plenty of people that accused him of things that were not any fun for him. So...i will just let him decide if he wants to start it again.

mike brown

is the FEMA director. Everyone take a few minutes and listen to what he has to say. He will put light on what is really going on and what it is we are dealing with. Sad however....as he is being interviewed ...all the media wants to do is make the entire government look bad because that is what they want you to walk away with. Our own media wants us to not trust in our Nation. . Nothing would make them happier than to see our President fail. Nothing would make them happier than to see our country fail. Journalism at it's best!

how many have found their local red cross and donated to the hurricane victims? I made my donation last night. And today...I am doing my part to cut back, budget, and make changes in our life style so that 1. I can afford these horrible gas prices 2. so that I can set aside more money for those things that may come up 3. so that I can contribute more to helping others.

don't just talk the talk...sometimes we have to walk the walk. Give what you can and the sooner we all do our parts ....the sooner these people can get back on their feet. And hopefully the sooner the gas prices will go back to where they should be.

To see if your company does any matching of donations for a charitable donation.  Where I work, they will match your donation (up to $1,000) to certain charities, such as the Red Cross.  They sent out the email reminder today and my dontation goes tomorrow - payday.

I know watching is frustrating and we wonder why it's taking so long and such - but Darcy had valid points that there is so much happening that we aren't being shown.  We can only do what we can and trust in the people that are running things.  The President knows what is happening and he is doing the best that he can right now.  People act like he is taking joy in the fact that people are dying and that these people are homeless and hurting - this is paining him too.  Not only is he feeling what we are but he also has to deal with all the crap that people are throwing at him - I'm sure if he had a magic wand to make it all go away that he would.

I don't know about any of you but there isn't enough money out there for me to want the job of President.  No matter what you do, someone is not going to agree with how it's being done.  And for everyone who has been on Bliss about how easy it is to sit back and say you'd do this and do that but you don't know until you live it - remember that for yourself when speaking against the President and what he "isn't doing fast enough" and this is on a MUCH larger scale.

I don't Understand

I don't understand how I keep getting into these messes.  I got divorced several years ago from a man that constantly abused pornography.  I felt like he couldn't wait for me to leave the house so he could go online...he made many empty promises and gave many meaningless apologies before I finally gave up.  That wasn't the only thing wrong with the relationship, but it was the start to his infidelity and eventually mine before I got up the courage to leave.  That's where I came from.  Now, I have been in a relationship with what I thought was a wonderful man.   He is divorced and I just found out why...he had told me that he too had, had problems with pornography, but he also had recieved councelling and had been in a support group.  Well, he stopped going and he admitted to me on Monday that he had been online with other women twice in the past few months.  I believe him when he says that's all.  I also believe that he loves me.  My first reaction was to tell him to take his toothbrush and leave.  He did.  I threw everything he left behind in the dumpster (that felt really good)  Anyway, other than this huge moral flaw, he's wonderful.  We've talked.  He's cancelled his internet service, started going to his support group again, and has called a relationship councellor to see together to get through this.  I have such a hard time believing in this though...to many empty promises that lasted a week or two in my past. I know it wasn't him...but I'm so hurt and confused and lost.  I don't have the tools to deal with this...HELP

have you ever heard of codependency?  People who are co-dependents have a knack of finding those with addictions. Why this is ....it is in our make up to find people who need rescued.  I suggest that you get yourself in some counseling too. Visit the COSA web site (co-dependents of sexual addicts). I also would suggest you read Co-dependent no more and suggest you read up on sexual addictions. Dr Patrick Carnes is the most well written author on sexual addictions. ALso....remember if he needs support ....sexual addiciton doesn't just go away. It takes day in and day out remember who you are and what it is you are fighting. Don't give up on him. I am sure he is a wonderful man with the real want to get past this. Stay around and I hope we can help you some.

just heard another account in which a helicopter tried to land to get people out of a hospital. He had supplies to drop off and was going to take the most seriously injured away on this helicopter. He was met with hundreds of people with guns and he couldn't land. Shouldn't we be questioning why this is happening? SHoudn't we be urging that crime be dealt with with an iron fist?  Why are we so quick to jump down the government but no one wants to talk about the crime that is occuring? Maybe....if we spent more time teaching people how to take care of themselves, get jobs, and expect them to listen to evacuation orders when given....we could do the job that we are sent there to do. Instead of worrying about rescuing people....we are worrying about fighting armed gunmen who stayed behind to steal and loot the city.

I checked out a couple of websites.  Funny, I was afraid to search for information incase I hit pornography by mistake...I just couldn't take that right now....ever, really.  I looked at COSA.  I'm so afraid of what my future looks like if I stay with him, but at the same time, I'm not a person who gives up on those I love.  How can I protect myself and support him at the same time?  Am I setting myself up for failure?
