HELLO, MY DEAR FRIENDS...

How's things and where is everyone? I know that I haven't been here in about a week, but no-one has been here since the 8th!!

Anyway, have had a lovely long weekend here with my parents. They stayed here from last Thursday till this morning. It was great to have them here!! Dad had an appointment with his Specialist not too far from where we live, last Friday and that was one of the reasons as to why they came and stayed.

On Saturday, we all went for a lovely drive in the countryside!! Be it that it was a very cold windy overcast day, it was still a nice day out. Dad was able to sit in the front seat next to Mark and just relax and enjoy the drive. He really enjoyed himself, so did the rest of us too.

Yesterday, we had some family members for lunch and that was also very nice. They had not been to our place before yesterday and really liked our home.

Today, being Monday is a public holiday here, as it is the Queen's Birthday long weekend!! Mark had to work today, as he is on a 24hour duty, but he will be able to get today back and hopefully next Monday he will get a day off and will get his long weekend there!!

Stephanie really enjoyed having her Nanna and Poppy here, of course and also Cindi who is Mum and Dad's dog. Cindi is a lovely dog with a beautiful nature, She is a Staffy X!!

Well you all Take Care and look forward to catching up with you all one of these days!! Bye-for-now, Love Kelly.

Queen's Birthday

Oh that is cool Kelly that you all celebrate her birthday with a holiday! I learned something new today! It sounds like you had a great weekend and I hope your dad got a good report from the docs too.

JP, girlie you are too funny! Right on the money and too funny!! lol Kind of sad though that someone messed with us and now we are skittish around others. That really sucks!  <sigh>

As for us, we are doing good. Boring as usual. hehe Had my cancer group tonight. That is one hilarious bunch of people. It is truly amazing that we can all laugh while dealing with the craziness of cancer. Anyway lots of fun believe it or not. =) Raj is in there watching a movie with the volume entirely too loud....omg do I get to look forward to him being deaf in his old age....I am beginning to wonder seriously...<double sigh>. I guess if he is hard of hearing I can say things like "bite me" behind his back and he will never hear it....could be fun!!!!!!!!!!! =O

Vicki.....GRATS on conquering American beaurocracy!!! Well done!!

Kak, Trace, Roxy, Loretta, Neecie and everyone else, hope all are well and stop in soon to say hi and give us news!

Hugs,

~Ami

Is This Normal Social Discussion

So Ami, your "life is short, play naked" avatar made me think of the afternoon last week when my 7 year old stuck her head in the kitchen door and said that she and her sister were going to play a game of baseball.  Neither are big baseball playing kids but we have the bats and balls and t-stand just in case one of them takes an interest.  So I finish up what I was doing and head out to the yard to take a look.  There at the t-stand is my very fashionable 7 year old wearing her little wedgie pink sandals, a flower skirt that had a little swing to it and a matching top.  Her toes were even painted to match the sandals and skirt.  She was preparing to hit the ball to her  almost 5 year old sister who stood a short distance away dressed in a baseball mitt and a pair of Tinkerbell undies.  You see she didn't want to get her dress dirty.  I thought about going to get the camera but didn't want to miss a minute of the fun.  Don't know who won, I think they forgot to keep score.

Hello all, hope everyone is doing well.  Been busy with the end of year stuff for the kids.  One more week until summer vacation begins and I can't wait for a little unstructured fun.  I'm looking forward to catching fireflies and not having to worry about bed times.  I'll try and stop in again soon.  Take care all.

That is fantastic Loretta, I love it!! It has to be so much fun to have little girls around. Boys never ever worry about getting dirty, nor do they care what they wear. Or so it has been my experience. And while I loved buying cute clothes even for the boys, I would always get pooey feedback on how a certain color would be too "girl colors". That has to be born in them because they were raised by a single mother who NEVER ever used the term "girl colors". I am a firm believer that the sexes are different from birth and much of it has nada to do with environment!!

But I digress....as always. =) Aren't those always the times you want a camera and never have one!! Someone should invent the sunglasses with a digital camera in them, then you would always have one and it could just snap pics all the time. LOL Ok, ok so Mission Impossible has it why can't mommys and daddys?! I always wished I was a great artist and could capture what I had seen later on paper or canvas. Of course something is lost in my translation as it is just not as cute when everyone strongly resembles stick people. =P Imagine that?!

There is something about art and being able to capture reality on a canvas. The High Museum of Art here in Atlanta right now has the art collection of the Louis' of France (XIV, XV, and XVI) on loan from the Lourve. OMG!!! It is unreal how those paintings actually look like 3D looking at them. Jewelry sparkles, dresses actually ruffle up and you can see it so clearly, and you do feel like you could reach out and touch it. I was amazed becaues pictures (photos) don't do art justice....which seems like really wrong, but it doesn't at all. For the first time I get it why Rembrandt et al are called "masters". Freakin' amazing!  Point being if I could paint like that, I would never need a camera!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs,

~Ami

My kids and I when they were young would catch as many fireflies as we could and took them in the house and at dark turned all the lights out and watched em fly around. They still remember doing that. Something you may want to try. They die by morning mind you but it's really cool to watch. In the house!!! lol

AM I A SHALLOW PERSON?

Doctor Phil, I am a shallow person, I am shallow against myself and now I am making the life of my girlfriend that I love a miserable life because I am shallow about her weight, I am a heavy person and lost 180 pounds in 5 years because I am sallow to myself, I hate the way I looked and I still hate the way I look because I am still 50 pounds overweight. But I am constantly attacking my girlfriend that I love and she loves me very much, I do not want to have sex with her because I’m not attracted to her size. What kind of person am I?

Why am I like this, I will take the chance of losing the girl I love and live with myself in sadness because of weight, I am so obsessed with weight, it is like poison to me. I see overweight people like they don’t count, I turn away and feel sorry for them, and I’m ashamed to be over weight and cannot deal with it.

Is it normal, am I the only one like this. I tried to see the good side of this but I can’t get over it. I don’t think I ever will.

Hey folks!

Erin got back from her first week at camp tonight; well, not back HERE - she's at her Dad's for the weekend.  But we had three hours to share all the news, and she had a really great time.  She even lost a tooth this morning!  I'm so glad that she can have such a great time doing these things.  Now she's home for a week and then off to another camp.

I don't know, there's not much to tell other than that.  My life pretty much revolves around her -- driving her here and there, and in between I just work.  A few days after the second camp, we're headed to Calif for a week with my Mom.  That always makes me nervous, but I also hold out hope that this time will be better than all the others.  We'll spend the 4th at my aunt and uncle's cabin on a little lake -- that is usually fun.  Then over the weekend, we're going to Southern Oregon and explore that a bit, and see As You Like It at the Shakespeare Festival.  KAK, I imagine you know where I'm talking about. : )

Vicki, I'd love to hear more about the wedding plans.  It must be getting very exciting now.  I'd love to hear from all of you -- The Ones I Know, Anyway.... and hear how things are going.  Sorry, but I just have a rule not to talk to people I don't know... that's just how it is.  That would especially refer to people who pretend to be something they're not.  It's pretty clear who's who.

Love you guys!

Ok so here's the scoop. This board is a social discussion, we have no armchair psychologists here. And if we did it is only about aby-"normal" sexual stuff. You know kinky sex like whips and chains or cross dressers, orgies, pornography that kind of thing. =P  Being a jerk to your girlfriend about her weight isn't about kinky sex so it doesn't come close to qualifying for our expertise....well mine anyway. >< Go to the message boards and go to "weight loss" and tell this to them, they will help you I feel sure. They, I bet, can find the perfect solution for someone who is so completely self absorbed and as shallow as you describe yourself.

Best of luck,

~Ami

PS-Really you have a lot of self hatred going on (that is why you despise fat people...you see yourself in them), you should find a real doctor, the shrink kind. Just my honest opinion. Be sure to check out the weight board, no kidding. ><

good day!!!

I hope everyone is doing well.

So the final count down is on.  I'm getting my hair done next week...lol and a Dr. appt the day after!!!  Hope I'm up to it.

Neecie - glad to see you!!!  Isn't it cool how kids just start taking these milestones.  My girls are so clingy to me I wonder if they would ever go to camp.  But...yesterday at the county fair they walked back to Ron on their own and was a fair bit of a walk.  Shocked me really.  I guess he was more exciting than me!

As for my wedding everything is in place.  We have everything booked and paid for.  We just have to get to Vegas....we don't have any specific plans except the wedding and we are going to see Cirque du Soleil Zumanity the next nite.  Oh and how could I forgot my great guest that will be there.....KAK.  How lucky am I to have her and the hubby join Ron and I.????? yeah!!!!!  We didn't want to make any plans just cause we want to be able to do what we want when we want and not follow a schedule!!!  I'm really looking forward to getting away.  We are having a reception on the 28th at home and we are just in the planning stages of that.

Ami - My mom got me that book Liseys Story for Xmas and I started it and put it down.  I was having a hard time getting into it.  Does it get better???  I love Stephen Kings book and I was very disappointed I couldn't get into it right away.

Kelly - We celebrate the Queen's b'day here usually the 3rd weekend of May.  How come she gets so many holiday?  Lucky her!!!!  Glad to hear you had a good visit with your family.  Its so nice now that everyone is close by.

Trace - I hope everything is going well for you.  We miss you and want to make sure things are going well!!!

JP - you slut!  j/k  ..........

KAK - gosh, I'm just so thrilled about meeting you!!!  what can I say!!!! ?

Loretta - our kids got out of school on the 15th May....seems like a million years ago.  Now they (stepkids) are running the show!!!!  My girls will start kindergarten this year....and I am NOT looking forward to that at all.  Heck what am I saying....some days I AM looking forward to it.  I'm sure yesterday was a prime example...........I feel so bad when I get that feeling.

Anyways, a big HOWDY to you all.  I'm at work wondering where all the people are.  I'm here alone with no one to tell where to go.  HMMMM....maybe I will go out on the highway and flag some people in.  Should I flash them?  On second thought that might just make people ill.
