I go to my dr's on Monday

and he's releasing me for work in 8 days. I'm like "You won't let me walk! Do you have any idea what I do at work?!" "Well we know you aren't going to be able to do what you used to do before this at first?" " So. Dancing last niter was not a good thing?" Lil Yep I did it. Only slow dances and not all of them and all my friends knew they had to be careful. But dang it I did it cos I miss it so much! And I feel Good!  So. I get to walk 3 days before I have to go back to work. Pssshhhh! How I ask you am I supposed to wear a shoe?!

lol pssshh was supposed to be chihauha I kid you not!

Let me tell ya'll what else has happened to little miss never screws up in finances. I started to think "You know what? You may want to check you checking cos I'm not sure you haven't spent more than is what's in there". And I have interest  bearing savings with the same bank.  So it's in there but I have to transfer funds. You know what else I do? I pay all bills a month ahead of time because if anything happens to me I don't want my kids to suffer.

I'm still drinking beer in case ya'll haven't noticed!

lol Well that cost me $92.00!  I'm like oh for gawd's sake! Pssshhhhh! ( otherwise known as chiahua)

I can not tell ya'll what a journey this expereince has been. I swear I have so much fun just being me. I mean really. Who on this earth is me? I know ya'll are laughing, but who can't? And  "I" get to be......ME! And it's such a delight. I live in a normal 54 yr old home. It's cute. I only have one bath and it's a has an asphalt driveway that I paid a guy last yr that told me it would look good for 3 yrs. It's cracked and ugly and it's mine. I have a wealth of friends (ya'll are included) a wonderful family and many many friends that love me.  My stupid deck is supposed to look good that I pain big bucks for to not and it's mine.

Moral of the story is I can not stop doing "stuff". And I think it may cost me, but what a price can you put on "this"?!

You know the alternative is to take it all with you when you go.

I knew a guy who dang near managed to do that. He was a skinflint so-tight-he-squeaked kind of stingy-arse guy, so stingy he refused to get medical insurance during his annual three month layoff. One year he got sick and stayed in the hospital in intensive care for 30 days. Then he died. It was an enormous medical bill. The hospital sued his widow, tried to take the house, and did force her into bankruptcy. Yes he took it all with him all right, he managed to spend everything and more and then die leaving all that debt.

So you know what JP, you might as well spend it and enjoy it. You go around life oncea and what really is the point of leaving it to someone else? Why not enjoy it now with them?

You are right you can't put a price on "this". (If I am getting your drift correctly, lol). Carpe diem!!! (seize the day!) lol

You know sweetie someday I am going to the Derby. I have always wanted to and dang it all Kentuckians should get to go and get free food to boot! =P   I loved your Louisville email, too funny. And we in Western Kentucky get so dang tired of people thinking horse racing is the only thing in Ky. hehe Everyone always assumes we have all been to the derby. <rolls eyes> Hell I have only been to Louisville once that I know of! And that was for a tax workshop on estates...sooo much fun....NOT. =/

Oh well gonna come someday!! Matt is planning on moving to Louisville in a year or so to go to school. That is the plan, so who knows I may get to come just to see him too....then you are going to show me all those fancy dance moves of yours!! Only you JP would dance while off recovering from foot surgery. lmao!

Hugs,

~Ami

Well you know you'll have a place to stay!

Gosh Ami we'd have so much fun. You are welcomed to stay here anytime and every time you come here. That's kinda cool that your son wants to go to UofL. What's his major? He can come too anytime.

I wasn't complaining about my finances. I just hate throwing money out the window and I can certainly spend it. Sometimes I think I'm nuts, but I do believe we're only here once and I intend to have a ball. And do! I was kinda just saying it doesn't take alot to please me. I'm not fancy by any stretch of the imagination. Simple, cute, functional in all my worldly goods.

Oh I see, well now that is me too. I am not a fancy person at all. Not with clothing, cars, houses even vacations. lol It just doesn't take much to make me happy. Though I do like to shop entirely too much. =) What is it about shopping that is fun?

Matt's gf is from Frankfort and when she finishes at Murray (where they met) she plans to job hunt in Louisville. In the meantime he is working here at UPS and plans to move to Louisville when she does to start school and do the earn-to-learn program at UofL. He loves working for UPS, it is a good fit. Anyway that is the goal and he is saving the money to go in about a year. The kid has a plan and he is really good about sticking to it too. I don't know where he gets that because I am more spontaneous than that and not terribly good with long term plans. Short term I'm fine, long term I am challenged! lol

I suspect those two will end up marrying in time. Neither are in a hurry but they are so tight it is like they are already married, lol. The long distance part has been hard for the relationship and in the beginning I didn't think they were going to survive the distance. But they seem to have ironed out the difficulties, made a plan and are both working towards it. The only fly that I see in this is that Matt does talk about marriage and kids and she says she doesn't want kids. Matt mentioned this to me and did tell me that it bothers him that she said that. He doesn't believe she means it forever, just for the moment.  I am a little worried and did tell him not to assume that she didn't mean forever and that whatever they should have a clear understanding of each other regarding children before they marry. Anyway that is all the advice I have for them. They are both sharp kids and I can see them being together for a long long time.

Anyway I am excited!! I will definately come to see you if I get that way. I keep thinking maybe we can hook up in Elizabethtown sometime at least for a lunch when I am in Ky for more than a flying weekend. =) And of course you know if you should get to Atlanta or even if you just need a place to crash on your way through to somewhere else you are certainly welcome here!!! =)

Well I hear Raj coming down, he is fixing to head out to NC!! I shouldn't be so excited he is leaving I guess...LOL. Anyway it will be a nice break for both of us.

Bbl....be back laters.

Hugs,

~Ami

Is This Normal Social Discussion

Oh Ami, I must be hormonal or something cause the story of the softball team had me tearing up.  There is hope for this world, women playing a competitive sport doing the right thing!  Made my day.

Then you follow up with a story about my all time favorite financial institution from hell.  Yes, I too am a customer in need of banking vaseline.  I read your tale to my husband, who avoids going to the house of horrors by doing as much banking on line as possible.  That way he rarely has to speak to one of the individuals that they try and pass off as humans.  I don't believe that they are humans because humans are supposed to use their brain cells which doesn't happen there.  Anyway I digress, we were laughing so hard that we thought depends might be in order.

You see, about a year or so ago a delightful customer service from hell individual informed my husband that they needed to convert our account.  I guess we had been banking with them from such an extended period of time (a couple of name changes I think) that our account was causing some back room pion some problems.  "Don't worry sir, your account won't change a bit.  Yes, I realize that you don't receive any fees for ATMs,etc. and I will just simply transfer it to the same type of account."  Can you guess what happened?  Bet you can!!!  Fees, fees and more fees.  When brought to the attention of the manager of hell, she explained that there was now no way to reverse the account, no way to fix this except to manually reverse the fees.  Yes, my hubby insisted that they reverse the fees and now monthly he gets to argue with them about this.  I don't have the patience or energy, I opened an account at a different nut house.

Also if you decide to file a lawsuit we would be very interested in making that a class action deal.  Huge pet peeve of ours is the amount of time that they take to clear your money.  I love it when they try and tell you that it takes that long to clear.    Insanity!

Enough about banking.  On my list of things to do before I leave this world in the number one spot since I was 11 years old is to go to the Derby.  My love of horse racing began with Slew and has never left me.  I've been fortunate enough to see the Belmont and the Travers but the Derby.....someday.

Ami, enjoy the concert and the peace.   JP, well I would say have a blast but I know you will no matter what you are doing.

Big hello to everyone else and happy weekend.

Ok I feel the need for more Scrupples!

You're on a sailing excursion. With three days left of your vacation, your office sends the message "Call in-you're needed at a meeting". Do you ignore the message and claim you were island hopping wehn you get home?  Yep!

You're at a party and meet an absloutely terrific looking person. He has movie star looks but is a little dumb and alot boring. Do you still go out with him?

No. Except! There's this one guy at the dance that is gorgeous. It's actually laughable how goofy he gets with the stances he has. I liked him for about 3 mos and finally got to talk to him and was completely enamored with him. Said all the right things, did wonderfully romantic things. Well time went by and I started hearing what a player he was and I knew all those things were practised and was turned off completely. Well he never understood what he did and I just went running around after all the other boys. Now we've talked normally and though I don't think I'd want him as a boyfriend I'd probably say yes if he needed a date. Then again....I think he'd be boring. He's all image and I can't stand that!

You're back in you hotel room after a long day of buisness meetings. You call the desk clerk to arrange for a massage. He arrives and offers you more than a massage for an extra $100. Do you take the "full body" massage?

..well I can tell you this. They'd never offer it to me! I have that thing about me that lets people know I have boundaries. I doubt I'd let him massage me at all and probably report him. Gosh I'm such a prude!

Hi everyone, where have you all gone to? I know that I don't get here much anymore, but normally some of you would have been here by now,LOL!!

Anyway, I hope all is well with you all and your loved one's as well.

We are all doing fine here at the moment and are staying well.

I took Stephanie to the movies on the weekend and we saw, "Horton Hears a Who!" It was great, Stephanie loved it and so did I. It's a good movie for big and little kids, I would have to say!

Well you all Take Care and enjoy the rest of the week. Bye-for-now, Love Kelly.

Big hello to everyone else and happy weekend.

It was a great story wasn't it!! I teared up reading it, you are right there is something really great about it that restores faith in people....at least some people. lol =)

Grrrr....the bank thing is just fubar. I really do despise these people. I used to work in a bank, in the old days when banking was a service industry and there was some pride in providing some. =P  It is like former waitresses...who KNOW what good service is about and can spot a sloppy job in a second. Well the banks, you don't even have to know to know you are being screwed, but having btdt (been there done that) makes it worse really. Because the one absolute in banking....nothing is set in stone regardless of what they tell you. Jackasses.

There needs to be a law suit without question. Holding funds is nothing but crooked. We took a withdrawal from Raj's 401k to make a downpayment on our house. It had just gone on the market and we didn't want to lose the option so we moved $10k to his checking account so we could write a check to the lawyers. AFTER we made the deposit then they told us we could not get the funds for 10 days!  Raj and I were topping cotton needless to say! Raj had a 'man to man' chat with the branch manager and his funds were released.

And that is the thing, I want a bank that at least pretends to have my best interest at heart!! Not this lame snow job that Walk-ova-ya doesn't even pretend to have. grrrr....Oh and one last pet peeve in the long list....it is one thing for my Walmart clerk to speak with such a heavy accent that I have to say pardon me 10 times checking out....but for my bank teller talking through a box over the racket of suction transit tubes to have such a heavy accent that it is nearly impossible to even know what she is saying is just stupid. It's easy to see the need for bank vaseline is endless! =P

Anyway I am shopping for a new bank. Bad thing is you just about have to deal with one to know whether it is worth a spit or not, and who has enough money to just play around making bank accounts everywhere? <sigh>

So on to better topics! The Derby. So here is the deal, when we are all wealthy and have nothing better to do than jet all over the place, let's all jet to Louisville one year and go to the Derby together! Spend the week partying and drinking mint juleps and eating Derby pie and Hot Browns! <drools> In fact I think the folks at DP should foot the bill for all of it! =P A partay for the AH!!! hehe

It would be fun no doubt. ;)

Oh and update, the concert was awesome! They spent all day preparing for it, getting to work one on one with an Atlanta Sympony musician in clinic. It was very cool and the concert was great. John and a friend of his were first and second chair (they played rock, paper, scissors for their places since there was no time for auditions...lol). John sucks at r,p,s so he got second chair. LOL Anyway they performed a 'solo' for viola in one of the pieces. It was awesome and all the sympony folks were great with the kids. This is a program that is about community learning (and I suspect scouting) and awareness of the symphony. It was a super experience for John and the only one he will get as it is strictly a middle school program. It just has not been in our county until now. I am glad he got to do it....and of course I enjoyed it immensely!

Well that is the latest here, I have been busy busy. I am trying to get a car deal finished, I will be glad when that is done. I had to get a drivers license. Errrmmm....I haven't had a valid one for over a year now. It is just such a pain the tail to have to spend all day in DMV here, and I liked my Ky license....they are pretty and I looked better on it. =P Now how's that for vain! lol Anyway done deal, I now have an ugly GA license in hand and am good to go!! lol

/waves to all!

~Ami
