My soon-to-be-ex publisher gives me hell all the time.  "You write anecdotes, not stories.  You're a good writer but I can never find a target audience.  You have no imagination, why can't you write about something other than what you know?"

He's right.  I will probably never be commercially successful enough for him.  And my grammar and spelling really suck.

But I left you hanging and by all accounts from your post, fairly angry and wanting to know more.  You didn't ignore my words!  And that, JP, is probably the finest review I've had all day!

So...the last Board meeting was June 24. Nothing was said to me or about me.THANK GOD!!

BUT... I had my own meeting that evening and 50+ members showed up to discuss what questions we want the Board to answer. There was a lot of discussion and we ended up with 23 questions. Each one had signatures from several people so none were from "individuals"  - 'cause our Board "does not respond to individuals."   Anywhooooo... I was very pleased, and have written up all the questions which will be asked at the next forum meeting on July 8. Then I'll give the list of written questions to the General Manager so they can be answered in full (I hope).

Our 'cover' for this meeting was that it was a birthday party [the birth of this group] and I had three full sheet cakes - not knowing how many might show up. One chocolate with chocolate creme filling and two white cakes with butter creme filling. After the meeting there was half of the chocolate cake, half of one of the white cakes and a full white cake left. I put the 1/2 & 1/2 cakes together and donated the whole white cake to a local retirement home.

I shared the 1/2 & 1/2 cake with a friend, kept some for Stan and I and cut the rest into 35 serving size pieces and took it back up to the clubhouse the next day with forks, plates, and napkins and let everyone help themselves. It was all gone by the end of the day.

So..... now we wait until the forum meeting to see if we will get answers. I know a couple of the directors are waiting to "get" me, but I'm letting others pose the questions. If this does not work, I'm contacting an HOA attorney and going after the Board for not following the rules of our documents nor the state statutes governing Planned Community Associations - which is what we are.

More to follow. I sure wish Ami lived here. I'd love to have her by my side in this fight.

And soooo well thought out and I love that you're gonna have others pose the questions. That's priceless. And I agree they need to follow the dang rules. I've completely given up on those guys I work with following them, cos they always dang change! It depends on who's doing what whether it's right or wrong and I've repeated that over and over and still out produce those silly boys. Ya gotta admit sometimes it's good to get your blood boiling and know that you really are a "part" of this insane world we live in. I really do think it's healthy for us if we can still live our happy little simple lives in spite of the insanity that surrounds us.

.....ya know this really does remind me of how different I became when I was going to Alanon. Remember all the notes I'd send ya'll? lol My life. Gosh I love it! My simple, simple life. Drama free unless you want to step on my toes. Sometimes I think they "attack" me because I do get all over them. Now we have these two new women that are have been in this buisness and they give them what for and it's so dang funny to watch. Like "See! I'm not out in left field!" lol So funny.

Most interesting that they don't "respond to individuals". Is that for real, as in written up in a by-law or amendment? Or is that just some made up horsehockey intended to intimidate? My bet in on horsehockey, but you never know what some idjit has typed up and held a 'meeting' for and passed calling in a by-law. LOL. No doubt I would be finding that attorney that loves jackasses like this group. By the way you aren't an individual are you? Aren't you speaking for your household? That is an entity not an individual...and in your case represents you AND Stan.....

I will be curious to know if they board is surprised at all.....if they aren't know you have a mole in your midst. Yeah, yeah I know, I sound paranoid but chalk it up to btdt (been there done that). But it takes real kahonies for a mole to take the cake.  (oh yes was that a pun!! indeed it was!!)  ;)

Sorry I seemed to put in the wrong words in that last post. That crazy hubby of mine brought in rags covered in gasoline (where he worked on the car) and expected me to wash them. He left them laying near the washer, which is just around the corner from my desk.

I have sat here inhaling fumes until I am freakin high!! (more like nearly sick =P)

Ok so it is just me, or does it seem like so completely retarded to wash oil, gas and grease covered ratty towels that were in the rag box to begin with??? Soap and water and not to mention labor to clean them up seems like a complete waste to me. *sigh*

How did I ever hook up with this man??? *mumbles under her breath about men who want grease rags washed need to get a life*  *and a garbage bag*

We took the boys to see Wall-e tonight. Too cute!!!!  Matt turned 21 today and John will be 14 on the 3rd so we did the movie treat tonight for both of them. They loved it!! It is nice that it is fun for kids and grown ups too. =)  Turns out Ed was going to see it tonight too in Ky (he just turned 23 on the 8th). So I know we were all celebrating birthdays together in spirit.

I certainly wasn't angry with you. I love, love,. love your stories! And your soon to be ex publisher is nuts. If we could find you a place you'd be so popular you'd blush in the glory of your fame. Kind of like Maxine and who doesn't love her? I just can't wait for the next story and eagerly wait for the next one. And of course I know you're telling the truth. Like with me and my goofy situations, you can't make this stuff up! lol
