HELLO EVERYONE...

How's everyone doing right now? Hope you are all doing well.

Stephanie and I are both doing well and so is Mark, as of tomorrow(Friday) it will already be 3 weeks that Mark has been OS. And so far I've been coping quite well. It helps alot that I've been keeping myself busy going to the Gym just about every day. I really am enjoying the Gym as well, I feel really good afterwards. I was told by one of the Mum's at school that I look like I've lost some more weight, as my face isn't looking as full now, lol!

As to what's been happening with my dear Dad, well it's not too good with him. As you all know, well I think I've told you all that my Dad has Motor Neroune Disease or MND for short. He has now had it nearly 4 years and up till recently he wasn't doing too bad, but lately he hasn't been eating or drinking much at all, as it's now very hard for him to eat certain food's and also his tastebud's have stopped working, so he can't even enjoy his food which really sucks big time!

Anyway, with him not eating much he has lost alot of weight and is becoming more and more weak, so he now has to have a feeding tube put in. He was going to have it done yesterday and then when they had put him under and tried to do it, for some reason they couldn't and so they had to stop and wake him up again. He has been in hospital for more than a week waiting for this to happen and now he has had to go home today and come back to the hospital next Tuesday for them to try doing it another way.

Hopefully once this tube is in, he will start to gain abit of weight and hopefully feel abit more human as well. I would dearly love it, if you could all say a prayer or two for my dear Dad. He is never going to get better and my family and I know that he is going to die sooner than later now, we just want him to have what time is left abit more comfortable.

It just breaks my heart to see my Dad the way he is, he is only 66 years old and he should have many more years left in him, but not with this bloody disease he has. It just sucks big time! I still think of him as being an active person, someone who loved to work hard every day in his life to get to where he and Mum are now. Before this, Dad was lucky if he ever got the Flu or even a cold, he was so fit and healthy. No-one in our family can understand why this has happened to Dad, we really can't!

Well I will keep you all up to date on what happens with Dad next week, till then please Take Care and BIG HUGS to you all! Love Kelly.

Hi Kelly

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad.  But at least  you live closer to them now and I'm sure that provides great comfort to both of your parents.

And good for you - going to the gym!  There's nothing better than a good, old-fashioned workout, where your body aches afterwards for all the right reasons!  Shannon is starting a boxing class on September 13th and I for one can't wait.  I found an appropriate picture of Nick to tape onto the punching bag...

You hang in there my friend. Hug Stephanie for me.

xoxo

Hi sweet bluebird!

Who loves ya baby?!

As for my situation, now ever so many yrs ago thank God, I really do think I had post tramatic stress syndrome. Really and truely. Ami is correct. And we were as poor as we could be too. It isn't gonna stop ever probably. I don't know if that's what you want/need to hear, but sometimes just accepting that and doing what you need to do for you IS the best thing. The other "best" thing is that when this thing ever gets over he'll disappear from your life. And that's a real potential. There just is not sanity to any of it, and I have to commend you for behaving the way you do. Course I've always been in awe of you sweetie. So just try to take this insanity one day at a time. The really, really, really good thing is that Shan seems to be on track and you have to admit that's pretty priceless.

The good thing is - Shan really does want to get better and is making great strides.

The bad news is - her doctors have recommended that she not work for at least another year because she has to attend so many programs and do urine screens three times a week and whatever, so they have filled out all the forms in order for her to get Temporary Disability (social assistance).

I read the forms and the assessment.  They all praise her parenting skills and think she should have primary custody of MJ.  BUT!  In order for her to qualify for social assistance and move out on her own and get subsidized daycare - they've had to exaggerate her mental illness.

Okay, I know my daughter isn't well and so does she - there's no denial there.  But holy crap - after reading the assessment (which says she suffers from PTSD, is possibly bi-polar and definitely has Obcessive/Compulsive disorder and mood swings and believes in spirits and is a recovering alcoholic and, and, and...) well, she looked at me and said, "Mom, do you really think I'm that bad?"

"No luv!", I said.   "They have to say all that stuff to ensure that you do get some money in order to get back on your feet.  Until this custody thing is over with and Nick is forced to pay support - and the bastard owes ME at least for a year and a half - let the government think you're nuts.  Although,  after reading your assessment you should know that from now on I fully intend to sleep with my one good eye open!"

And so it goes.  Today we are going to keep busy and wash all of the windows up here.  Did I tell you that Paula (Cygne) is coming to visit for a few days next week?  She's in New Brunswick, celebrating her parents' sixtieth wedding anniversary and is stopping here on the way back to Vancouver.  My friend who lives across the street, Joseph, is letting her sleep there as I don't have enough room.

Oh, you'll like this.  She tells me she's bringing eight fresh lobster with her.  I wonder if she has to buy them all separate seats on the plane.  I have visions of them running up and down the aisle, nipping at people's toes.

Sheesh, now who's sounding crazy!

Love ya, my friend.

yeah you did tell us that Paula is coming

Does she come on here anymore? I know she never posts, but lots of times I just check in to see the haps and not post so she may have turned into a lurker. Tell her we all said hello. And yes I'm still waiting for more stories from your trip that was how long ago? Tis ok. I've learned patience m'dear.

Trace you will see and end to the court thing some day. At least the custody part, unless Nick decides to keep going over stupid stuff. How does he afford this?!

kelly I'm really sorry

your dad is having those problems and will certainly keep him in my prayers. And I'm glad you're enjoying the gym. I hate to excercise, but when I dance it's like an areobic excercise and I'm flying high from the endorphines. Great, great feeling.

I didn't get any further than the first 30 minutes. It is interesting and entertaining no doubt. I got a lot of chuckles. What is sad to me though, is someone will believe it all. *shakes her head*

By the way Google "Debunking Zeitgeist"....there are a dozen or more sites where people have debunked the information and exposed bogus sources etc in the movie.

Google is your friend. ;)

Hugs,

~Ami

Awwwww....

WILKES COUNTY, N.C. — A backyard angler has bagged the state’s record channel catfish using a 2½-foot hot pink Barbie Doll rod and reel.

David Hayes caught the record-breaking fish from a private pond while fishing early this month with his granddaughter, Alyssa, 3. The 21-pound, 1-ounce catfish measured 32 inches long — 2 inches longer than the Barbie Doll fishing pole.

“After catching two or three bluegill, Alyssa turns to me and says: ‘Papa, I’ve got to go to the bathroom. Hold my fishing rod,’” Hayes was quoted as saying in a news release from the state Wildlife Resources Commission.

“A few minutes later, the float went under, and I saw the water start boiling up — I knew right then that I had my hands full with that fishing rod.”

It took Hayes about 25 minutes to land the fish, which measured 22½ inches in girth. Hayes said that once he got it to the bank, he was pretty certain his channel cat would exceed the previous state record, an 18-pound, 5-ounce fish caught in August 2007.

The fish was weighed on certified scales at a nearby grocery store, and a fisheries biologist with the Wildlife Resources Commission certified that Hayes was right.

Is This Normal Social Discussion

Hey all,

I know that just about everyone else's kids are back in school but I still have mine keeping me busy.  Summer is not over until Labor Day!  The girls won't go back until after Labor Day and I've got mixed feelings about that.  I love the summer and I don't think we have finished playing yet.

Kelly, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's health issues.  I hope that the Doctors can get him to a point where he is comfortable.  I am glad that you are able to get to the gym so often, it's great isn't it!  That is one thing that I am looking forward to when the girls go back to school, regular workouts.  Take care and you and your family are all in my thoughts.

Trace, thanks for that wonderful story about your grandparents.  I love hearing stories about strong, independent women.  Please send Paula my regards, miss her.

Neecie, you asked awhile ago about my friend and I have been meaning to email you and well time flys doesn't' it.  Anyway the best way to say it is simple....she is doing amazing!!!  A very lucky and now healthy woman.  Life has been kind : )

Ami, how are you holding up?  Think of you often and hope you are doing better.

JP, damn, I can't stop paying my taxes???  Wouldn't that be nice but then poor Ami and Neecie might be out of jobs!

Today, we are taking the little people to see "Starry Night".  Not sure that my 6 year old will get much out of it but hey, mom will!!!   My oldest has studied VanGogh so she is into it as well.  And besides, it's free!

Take care all and hi to everyone I missed (hey Vicki and KAK).  I'll stop by more soon.
