Lol JP!

Quote From: bluebird

Did you see the show on messy houses and what it says bout ya'll? lol It said you'e mental deary. Now see. I knew this about YOU! LOL! Honestly. Did you see it? I took notes cos a friend called while I was watching and she wanted me to call her and tell her what it said about her. It's so much better the way I am Ami. I swear. No chaos. Calm. There was a time I was OCD but when I turned 50 I changed. Calmed my little butt down and I am so much more chilled. Gosh what a difference.

You guys I don't have my airline tickets! I'm hopeing my friend has them, cos of the other two girls going one has the other's. As in Mary Jo has Patricia's. Keep your fingers crossed!

Kathy thanks for telling us about V's wedding. I just knew one of you would be here today. Glad you could make it and wish I coulda been there. I didn't even realize it was 7/7/07. That's supposed to be the luckiest day ever. So it seems someone upstairs delayed the wedding just for her! Yea!

I didn't see the show, though I wish I had it sounds fascinating. I really do wonder what makes us all different. My sil is super efficient and throws everything away immediately when she determines she isn't going to need it again. Of couse I have heard her moan later that she always throws stuff away she needs. lol Then she has to go buy something again and it is just rinse and repeat all the time. lmao! Of course I can promise I have whatever, the problem is I will never be able to find it, so I many times have to go buy another whatever too. Then I will immediately find the one I searched and searched for! So who knows what is better!? Mental dreary, huh? That's funny, that must be the new fad thing to say for all those closet organizer people and shows. I get tickled watching those and those people telling others what to throw away. Pffft, I would like to have their stuff!!! I'm a flea market and auction hound I love "stuff"!! I also have sold antiques for 25 years (to feed my habit) and I love making money too! See you shouldn't just toss everything, you have to carefully analyze it!! You know the addage "one man's trash is another man's treasure"!!! Btw my sil (former) also has OCD, wonder if all those closet cleaning/organizers on tv do to? I bet there is a connection somewhere in there. Interesting stuff no doubt! One of the ladies in my cancer group has a business cleaning out people and organizing their homes, she is hyper so I bet there is a connection there too. All that energy and no place to put it. Hmmm, don't know. I do wish I had more energy I like all my "stuff" to be neat and look orderly, I just like a lot of it. Collecting things is comforting, I'm a history buff so throwing things away that might later be important just isn't possible for me. Imagine if someone had cleaned out and thrown away everything in the world. What if Mary Todd Lincoln had been a neat freak? Omg there would be no famous A. Lincoln papers around to see, no copies of the Gettysburg Address and such! <horror in her eyes>.  There would be no reason to have museums at all! Ok, ok far-fetched maybe and justifying I suppose, but hey "mental dreary"? Einstein the most famous person in the world for being unorganized and frumpy in his manner certainly wasn't "mental dreary" hehe and he and I have the same bed head!!! What can I say!!!!

Anyway Raj says it is an unspoken rule among men that "he who dies with the most tools wins". I have heard the guys he works with say it too. hehe So you know we have entirely too many tools, like everything ever made, or even two of them! Two things I need to ask Raj about this....first just what is it you "win"? I think it must be a place in God's tool shed! And two is my rule "she who dies with the most shoes wins" how it works for women? I might win that and get a place in God's closet!!! Oh that would be just desserts I think, me who has all closets full to the brim getting to heaven and finding out I am relegated to man God's closet for eternity.....

Hugs you silly girl!! Hope you find your ticket!!! I would know mine would be here.....well somewhere =D =D =D

Kak and the gang

Thank you so much!!! Hot or not I sure wish I had been there!! Thanks for the pics too, you all look great!! And aren't they just too cute together!! Our Vicki and Ron!! He is too cute, she did good!!! hehe Wow it kind of is hard to believe, I remember the first time I posted here, her avatar was two white bunnies and she had written about her "little ladies" and of course for some goofy reason I thought she was talking about the rabbits in her avatar and asked if she meant the rabbits. DOH!!! The girls were babies then, it was even before she knew about celiac issues. Wow that has been a long time ago. Vicki proves to us good things come to those who wait and are patient!!!!! I am so happy for her and Ron I hope they have a wonderful life together!!

Kelly, I am glad that your parents are close by. You don't sound nearly as bummed out about Mark being off for a while as you used to sound. I know how it is to be so far away from your family. I hate it to be honest. So I am glad for you that you are closer to them now. It will also help the time fly when Mark is away. I know you are excited that Stephanie is going to be 5. Omg another of our babies is growing up!!! It is so hard to believe!!!!!!! Give her a big happy birthday from us!!!!

JP you have a wonderful trip and be sure to come back and give us all the low down!!!!

To everyone else, you are missed and I am sure busy!!!! Take care and drop in when you can!! Neecie I'm still plodding through with Lisey, I am reserving comment until I finish it and it is getting closer to the end. hehe

Hugs to all,

Ami

How funny to have someone reply to my very first post!  That was so long ago, and of course, it wasn't actually my FIRST post, because we've all gone through several other boards that have been archived.

Anyway, it's a bit slow here sometimes, but most of us are such old dear friends, that it's one of those things, that wehn you get back together it's like no time has passed.

The best thing is to jump in, tell us something about yourself, and start learning about us.  We call this the Animal House (a long story), but it's more like a little coffee shop, where we all stop in to chat now and then.

Ok, Folks, here's the scoop...

I went to an Irish Festival today with Ralph and his sister and some of their friends.  It was a fun day, but sooo hot!  I really loved all the Irish music though, and Ralph looked great in his kilt....

Afterward, when we were back at his place, we talked for a while.  And well, things have been gradually heating up between us over the last few months; remember when we went to that dance in May?  We haven't done the deed, but ok, we play around more and more each time we're together.  Today we both admitted that we want to see where things go, even though we're both clear on the idea that marriage, etc is not in the plan.  We actually talked about when we could plan to get together again (I had to pick Erin up at dinnertime tonight) and realized that the next three weekends won't work.  But the fourth weekend is a possibility and we might be able to see each other on a Friday before that, because I'm usually free, and his schedule is variable.

So, I'm feeling very chipper!

Love is in the air everywhere I look around
love is in the air every sight and every sound and I don't know if I'm being foolish
don't know if I'm being wise
but it's something that I must believe in
and it's there when I look in your eyes.

Love is in the air, in the whisper of the tree, love is in the air in the thunder of the sea,
and I don't know if I'm just dreaming,
don't know if I feel safe,
but it's something that I must believe in
and it's there when you call out my name.

Love is in the air,
love is in the air,
oh, oh, oh, oh, uh,
uh, uh, uh.

Love is in the air, in the rising of the sun, love is in the air, when the day is nearly done, and I don't know if you are illusion,
don't know if I see truth,
but you are something that I must believe in,
and you are there when I reach out for you.

Love is in the air everywhere I look around
love is in the air every sight and every sound and I don't know if I'm being foolish
don't know if I'm being wise
but it's something that I must believe in
and it's there when I look in your eyes.

love is in the air,

Hehe, I couldn't resist hon, you sound positively glowing in a "I wish I were subdued" kind of way! LOL!

Hugs, it sounds positively wonderful!!

Ami, you dog!

Now I'm going to be singing that song for the next three days!  Well, that's ok really, cuz it's pretty much how I feel! : )  I only wish I didn't have to wonder when, when, when.... A month is a long time to wait, you know?  But he told me that we'll get together that weekend (there's another Irish Festival) "unless I had a better idea".  So I checked my calendar and realized that all my Fridays are free and he doesn't always work fulltime.... so, we'll see.

Hi Dee - welcome!

Tell us about yourself.

I've been posting since about 3 months after Dr Phil began his show (Wow! October 2002!) and have become close with several other regular-sometimes-irregular posters here.

I am 58, married, and live in Oregon. The love of my life is my 2 year old cocker spaniel, Bitsy.

On 7-7-07, my hubby and I met up with another regular here, Vicki, on her wedding day in Las Vegas. It was the first time we had met in person. I've also met up with Karen aka "Ami" in Atlanta. Some day I hope all of us can meet somewhere fun and just hang out for a couple of days. Anyway, I'm sure you'll fit right in.

We talk about everything under the sun, and because we've gotten to know each other of the years, our talk is mostly about what we're doing and our kids or pets or whatever. Not much talk regarding sex anymore but that doesn't mean we wouldn't if you have some interesting questions. Do ya huh? Do ya?

Ami - great lyrics - I can actually sing along...

Have you been watching the two latest game shows, "The Singing Bee" and "Don't Forget the Lyrics"?

The Singing Bee is on NBC and Joey Fatone (from NSync) is the host. The Singing Bee challenges contestants to accurately sing the lyrics to popular songs — when the band stops playing! Scored like a spelling bee, there is no middle ground for partially correct answers. Contestants must be perfect, or they’re out. Contestants must correctly sing lyrics to songs ranging from the 1950's to current. Six start out then get weeded down to four, then two, then the final winner. Grand prize is a trophy and $50,000.

Don't Forget the Lyrics is on Fox and Wayne Brady is the host. Contestants choose songs from different genres, decades and musical artists. Then they’ll take center stage to sing alongside the studio band as the lyrics are projected on screen – but suddenly the music will stop and the words will disappear. After each correct response, contestants must decide to "Stay & Play" or "“Take the Money & Run." If they sing 9 songs correctly, they are presented with a No. 1 hit and one final missing lyric for the top prize of $1 million. It's that simple: 10 songs, 10 missing lyrics, 1 million dollars.

Anyway, Ami, your lyrics for Neecie made me wonder. : )  Love ya, kak
